Awkward Love

Sean was feeling a pool desire that day so he went down to the lockers and changed into his swim wear. There was also one other thing on his mind that entire week. It made him forget the date. It made him not able to sleep until 1:00 the entire week. It was the girl that he had a secret crush on. It was Yume.

The strange thing about it was that he had told nobody. He hadn't even asked for any advice from anyone. He was in Beata and decided that he needed to grow up and take charge for himself and not wimp out of it.

He had heard the stories about Montare and him being rejected by a girl that he liked. Sean for one, didn't want to end up like that. But what if I do end up like Montare? He thought. After he thought for a little while, he tried to shake the thought off and take a dip in the pool.

Yume sighed as she came to the pool with her bags and towel. Her bag was a bit heavier than she planned since it was full of stuff she didn't exactly need, but... You don't need to know what's in it. Walking into the pool, she touched her foot against it gently, flinching back from the coldness. She continued in, until the water was up to her chest. Around her was an inner tube, and Yume held it closely. Noticing Sean, Yume considered getting out, but she stayed closer to the shallow side, keeping a distance away from him, a distant look that didn't meet his eyes.

Sean noticed Yume enter and froze. This wasn't the right time! Nor the right place. Sean decided not to let that mess with him so he forced himself to speak. "Hey Yume!" He shouted across the room.

Yume was going to ignore Sean, but replied, "Oh... Hi. What brings you here?" She was a bit embarrassed that she had the tube with her, but she wasn't going to admit that she couldn't swim. Lowering her head a little so that her eyes were above the tube, Yume kinda wished she weren't in the pool, and she clumsily teleported to the chair her bag was at. Her eyes were full of embarrassment and she was slightly blushing.

Sean was happy that at least Yume replied to his welcome. "Oh, just an urge to swim. One of my favorite hobbies as a child was swimming." He tried to start some conversation. Sean noticed that Yume kept going farther and farther away. Is that a good sign or a bad sign? He thought.

"I see... I'm not a really big fan of swimming honestly, I just wanted to relax a bit," Yume replied flatly. 'Why did I teleport in the first place? Somebody make this scene normal again!' she thought as she accidently teleported again towards the deeper end of the pool. She started helplessly flailing at the surface, being unable to swim. Sinking down, she tried to catch a breathe, failing, as she sank down. Her eyes closed as she gave in to trying to reach the surface again.

Luckily, someone left one of the doors into the pool area open again. Montare was able to pad into the pool, in the form oh a wolf pup. He had returned to the pool due to not being able to swim much the day before when he first came here. He quickly noticed Sean and the other girl. "Hey, Sean." he called out.

Before Sean could even reply, he saw Yume suddenly disappear. Suddenly, he heard loud splashing near him and turned around instantly. He ignored Montare and dived toward Yume and grabbing her atop of him. He had almost dropped her before trying to reach the surface. He reached the end of the pool and gently placed her down. " Yume! Yume are you all right!?!" Sean knew CPR but what would the other students think if he did such a thing to another student? He couldn't decide wether to do it or rush her to the infirmary.

Yume got up, giving a few coughs before replying, "I'm fine. I'm kinda used to this by now." Giving a weak smile, she remembered those times at home where she would accidently teleport and nearly drown, but it was common enough now that she could get up after getting out of the water. "I just can't swim well that's all. I never took lessons or anything so drowning is a bit too common for me. I'll head to the infirmary later since I'm feeling a bit dizzy from all that pointless teleporting. Sorry about that..."

"Well I'm just glad that you're safe." Sean said, still worried about Yume. "Would you like me to escort you to the infirmary? You don't look so good after all that."

"I'll be fine. Please, don't worry about me so much. I can handle myself perfectly fine!" Yume replied, slightly annoyed. She was a bit surprised at her own tone, but then she noticed, "Wait... Are you normally this nice to someone? Please, if anything, don't tell me you like me." She quickly teleported back to her bag clumsily, and changed to her normal clothing in the lockers. 'He can't be seriously in love with me right? We hardly know each other!' she thought as she went out, heading towards the infirmary.

Sean was surprised at Yume's sudden anger. What could he had done to have made Yume so angry, Try to help? I do like you but you weren't supposed to notice! Gah...I wanted to atleast take it slower than this. He thought. He hadn't even took Yume to the courtyard to hang out or even to the cafe. Nothing! She wasn't supposed to notice that fast! Was it really that obvious? Well... at lunch time, I got a hug from Luna for her birthday. I'm not always this nice! He told himself. But he knew it was a lie. He wanted to spend more time with Yume, but the cat was out of the bag. If Montare wasn't the maturest person on earth, he'd die laughing at me right now. He thought.

So Sean just sat next to the pool, thinking about how he was going to get himself out of this.
