Anne-Marie was finding stuff to do hard now that the school year was over. The young girl decided it was about time she started doing something. She was penniless, since her parents were very frugal regarding the spending-cash they sent her, and instead bought her clothes from London and sent them there, but she wasn't looking to make cash. So she found herself signing up as a volunteer for the local Rosebury daycare. The Summer prided herself in being able to connect with younger children and to be gentle, so she decided to put that talent to good use and hone her utterly poor social skills.

It was early in the morning that she showed up on her first day, slightly sleepy but excited. It was hot outside, something unusual for London which took both her and her clothing-picking parents by surprise as she struggled to find a t-shirt that wouldn't suffocate her in the heat. Anne had a quick talk with one of the older daycare workers, then she was all alone in the room. From her bag she picked out a book and began reading, soon absorbed in it's pages by the interesting story. When the doorbell rang and someone entered, the girl was so surprised she almost dropped her book. She was supposed to be there to welcome people and talk, right? The thought made her shudder, but she got up nonetheless and greeted the person with a nervous smile.

"H-hi, how can I help you?"

The man who entered was a usual there. Usual meaning that he had lived there before his parents moved to Rosebury. Lived there meaning that he spent each night with his infant son in the nursery by himself. By himself meaning the mother was rarely around, seemingly plagued with guilt. Despite it all, they were doing fine.

He had blond hair that seemed a bit wild. It looked as if he had tried to get it to stay down, but it couldn't quite get there. Blue eyes peered past his bangs and s small smile seemed permanent on his face. He gave off a gentle vibe that was hard to place where it came from. In his arms seemed a carbon copy of the man, aside from the babyish facial features and wider eyes. A young boy who tiredly blinked away the change in light from entering the building. He rested his head on the man's shoulder, eyes drooping yet trying to stay awake as he observed the new person.

A tilt of his head was enough to prove the fact that he had been here before, and yes he knew she was new. "Hello, I'm here to drop off Shepard for the day." The man smiled a bit wider, his voice just as soft as his smile. "You are Anne-Marie, right? Harmony told me we go a new volunteer. It's pretty cool that students are stepping in." Of course--he was a student. But his volunteering was more obligatory than her's. "Oh! Sorry, I forgot my manners. I'm Leo. I'm one of the other volunteers here. It's nice to meet you."
