The Right Time for Drama [open] Empty
PostSubject: The Right Time for Drama [open]   The Right Time for Drama [open] EmptyMon Apr 18, 2016 4:21 pm

He hadn’t been careful enough. He had gone one step too far, and now he was being dragged to some school out in the middle of nowhere to be trapped with other kids that were “just like him”. Not that his parents minded, he was sure they were glad to be rid of him. After all, he caused them nothing but trouble, as they frequently liked to remind him, and sending him away from them was solving half of their problems.

As the boy stared gloomily out the window of the vehicle, he could picture his room at home. But as they pulled up to the school, he realized he was already beginning to forget details of it. It was a tad bit dramatic, sure, but he felt this was the right time for drama, and damn it, he was going to use it. Sighing heavily, Remington grabbed his backpack and sweater and climbed out of the car, shutting the door rather harder than he normally would have. Perhaps drama was crossing the line into childish. Whatever.

The driver of the car didn’t get out, waiting for the boy to grab his own belongings from the trunk. Typical. Although, while he was opening the trunk, Remi glanced at the school again and didn’t blame the man for not getting out. He thought he even heard the doors lock, leaving him trapped outside. Not that he couldn’t handle himself, of course, but he would’ve been a fool not to admit that it frightened him in the slightest. The moment the trunk lid had slammed shut, the car was gone, leaving the boy standing and facing the gate in what felt like an overly cinematic moment. He paused, looking around to see if perhaps there was a stereo or something playing music, wondering if he’d been imagining it or not. When he looked back to the school, the intense moment was gone.

Grabbing his bags and grumbling in his head about the unfairness of everything, Remington made his way to the gates, shouldering through them and stepping onto the grounds of the campus. Students seemed to be walking here and there, going about their days like normal. He hardly noticed that it was sunny as he imagined a dark cloud hanging over his head. He knew he was supposed to go the office, where they would give him directions on what to do next, but he didn’t have much of a clue about where this office might be, and he most definitely did not want to ask someone. Surely, there should be signs to direct him. He can’t have been the first new student to arrive and wondered where to go.

Picking a direction, he took two steps forward before his larger suitcase’s zipper broke and its contents spilled onto the pavement.

PostSubject: Re: The Right Time for Drama [open]   The Right Time for Drama [open] EmptyTue Apr 19, 2016 4:23 pm

Okay so this was new. Very new. Exciting, that was definitely for sure, but Bastien wasn't sure what he was supposed to respond like in a situation like this. A new school, new friends! All the fun stuff that came with moving that he had never, ever expereinced before. Super fun! And it was because he had a 'gift' they said. It had been very difficult to realize at first anything was wrong with him. But people always said the stories he told had been extremely vivid and it certainly didn't help that his favorite genre was horror.

So Bastien had stopped talking. Talking just made things worse. He still had plenty of friends and his family loved him, his was their little ball of sunshine. But it was hard to be a particularly bright ball when one couldn't speak. So going to this school was going to help him! Bastien was going to learn how to speak aloud without giving people the willies and making them jump out of their skin because of fright. When he had learned this he decided he was going to go and his friends would get to hear his voice. He had been told, when he was younger, that he could sing well.

Bastien had been dropped near the gate, but he had insisted to be dropped a ways away to get to walk and think for a little while. He was walking up just behind someone else who had just entered. Maybe another new student! He had just arrived and he already had something in common with someone! Entering the gate he was met with students walking this way and that, going about their day in busy bustling. Oh goodness! Bastien pulled out his handy dandy notepad and flipped to the page where he had prepared, in writing, 'can you direct me to the office?'

Quickly he showed it to the first student he saw who pointed him in the direction of the office. Sure, it was a bit vague but it was useful enough and Bastien could always ask anyone else he came by. Right as he turned to head toward the office, the boy he had walked in behind took a step and his bag fell open! Gasping Bastien set down his notepad and his own bags and rushed forward. Nothing crossed his mind that maybe this person didn't want his help and he couldn't ask if he did so he just went right to helping in whatever way he could.

Rose was on her way to another one of her classes, her text book and a notebook for the class tucked in her arms. She was walking a a steadily fast pace, trying not to interact with too many students on the way there. She still wasn't used to being around so many people, and still wasn't to fond of it. Especially being around boys. The only ones she could really stand were Ed, Farkas, and Will they all had made a decent impression, but Ed was the only one she could hang around for a decent time.

She shook her head, and continued to look at the ground in front of her as she headed to her class. Just as she was about to pass the gate some unknown noise caught her attention, her eyes quickly went up to find the source unknowing it was just in front of her. Due to her not paying attention she managed to trip over the boy who was kneeling down to help the other with picking up the contents of his suitcase. Her books feel from her arms as she attempted to catch herself on the ground but she only managed to face plant into the ground. She let out a pain filled groan as she attempted to get up, but the pain still had her mind dazed.

What a pair of idiots. Remi had to stop himself from scowling at what this mess had become. His mother's words rang in his ears as though he had just heard them (they'd almost been her last to him): "Make friends, not enemies!" He remembered a bit too late and, as a result, his lip was half curled and his eyebrows half furrowed before he could stop himself. The two on the ground were too busy to notice, a girl and a boy, one having tripped over the other from not watching where she was going. What a fantastic start to the school day.

Trying to keep the edge from his voice, he bent down and laid his suitcase down, grabbing his things and shoving them inside of it as he said, "I don't need help, thanks." This was just his luck.

Helping people was one of Bastien's number one favorite things to do! He just loved helping people because it made it easier to ak friends that way. If you helped someone a conversation started and then suddenly you were talking and laughing and having fun and the BAM! Friends made! Only it was harder for Bastien because he didn't talk, but it was still super fun!

Without warning he felt something, or someone, fall over his back and heard a small thwack as skin met ground. Instantly Bastien was up and rushing over to help the girl up, reaching out to attempt to help her into a seated position. Still helping, despite having caused this one. Bastien quickly signed, unaware this girl probably didn't know what he was saying. "Are you alright?'

Sign language was for family and close friends who had learned it for his sake. Otherwise he tended to use his notepad to communicate. Speaking of! The boy standing up made some slightly angry comment which didn't throw Bastien for a loop at all, though he did sound like quite the grumpy gills and Bastien didn't like grumpy gills'.

Getting up he quickly ran over to his bag and notepad and picked them up to drag closer. 'Sorry, I love helping people.' His writing was hasty and scrawled, but as legible as he could make it. Then he turned to his bag and opened it, producing some fun Mickey Mouse bandaids he had gotten before leaving for school. He pulled a few out and offered them to the girl.

PostSubject: Re: The Right Time for Drama [open]   The Right Time for Drama [open] EmptyTue Apr 19, 2016 9:07 pm

Rose finally managed to get into a seated position, with some help from the boy who was unable to speak. She rubbed her head slightly where cuts and scrapes cross her for head. Blood dripped from her nose because of her face plant, and the palm of her hands were a bit scraped up as well but not as bad as her face. She was lucky she didn't manage to bite her tongue off. She let out a small groan of pain as her hand touched on of her scratches, but it was nothing compared to back then. This.. this she could easily deal with.

She finally looked at the two boys, whom she managed to trip over because she was an idiot and decided not to pay attention to where she was going, and she froze as soon as she saw they were boys. Her eyes widen slightly as she gave her time to process what was happening. Her brain instantly wanted to activate her gift, and to chase them away, but she refused to let that happened. She looked up at Bastien and decided he wasn't a threat at the moment. He was okay, then she look to Remi. He seemed grump, and looked like he could possibly be threat if she angered him in some way.

Quickly she scrambled to her feet, giving a silent thanks to Bastien. She didn't know sign but she knew that he was asking if she was alright just from the look on his face. "I'm.... I'm.. sorry.." She spoke clearly, and yet softly. It was certainly a slow way of speaking, but it prevented her from stuttering. She was apologizing to the both of them, she didn't want either of them to be mad at her, she didn't want to deal with another angry person on her back. "I..... I should.. have looked where I.... was going.. I was... being an.. idiot... and not paying attention..." Her slow speech would probably get on Remi's nerves but it was better than getting on his nerves for stuttering a lot.

One of them couldn't speak and the other was having trouble speaking. Great. He was never going to find the office at this rate. The boy hardly spared a glance for either of the two, his focus on getting his belongings, mainly clothing, off the ground and into the suitcase. They had unfolded as they fell to the ground and he didn't bother folding them again, shoving them as they were into it. He wish he had more hands. . .

Remi closed his eyes a moment and concentrated, not moving a muscle. Suddenly, there were two of the boy, both crouching in the same position, side by side. The original Remi opened his eyes and looked at the new one, giving him a once over before returning to shoving things in his suitcase. The second Remi copied him, doing the same thing. Together, they got the suitcase packed quickly. The zipper still broken, there was nothing for it but for one of them to carry it carefully and the other to keep carrying what he already had. Both boys straightened, each looking down at the other two students, one apparently mute and the other with a slow way of talking, whether out of fear or embarrassment, he didn't care.

"Don't apologize," the original Remington said coolly. "I need to get to the office. Where is it?"

PostSubject: Re: The Right Time for Drama [open]   The Right Time for Drama [open] EmptyWed Apr 20, 2016 4:42 pm

It didn't bother Bastien in the least that Rose had tripped over him. There had been no effect on his being and she had managed to damage herself quite a bit by doing it. He was glad he was able to help but he didn't really get a response from her. He took a second to realize not everyone knew sign language. Oops! It wasn't that big of a deal though, she seemed mostly okay, although a bit scratched up.

She did manage to stand, which was great. But she didn't seem to notcie his bandaids, which was okay. He kept them in his hands when he went to get his notepad and then moved back over to her to help if she needed it. Well, she did thank him. That was worth something. Oh, she was apologizing! Quickly he scrawled something out on his paper and showed her: 'It's alright! You didn't hurt me but you got all damaged up. You sure you're okay?'

She got through her sentences rather slowly, but Bastien didn't mind. He was used to taking a while to speak, although on paper or with his hands instead of out loud. Sometimes he wished he could talk to his friends in the lunch line like everyone else did, but his hands were always occupied and that was never fun. The only thing that mattered was that the words came out. How it happened wasn't important.

Turning back to the other guy Bastien's eyes widened and his mouth gaped as he watched him lean down with someone who looked just like him beside him! That was the coolest thing he had ever seen! [color:57d8=e3a2f4]'That is so awesome! Is that your gift? I wish I could do that! I bet it's really useful!' Bastien scribbled out, lifting it up to show Remi and Rose, his face a lit with joy and energy.

Oh, the office! 'Someone just told me where that was.' Bastien said, leaving out the fact that he only knew the generaly direction partially because he thought it irrelevant but also because it would have taken longer. 'You're new too, right? I'm Bastien!' This was written rather fast as Bastien shot his hand out for Remi to shake. He would shake Rose's too, if she wanted.

No, Rose wasn't about shaking hands. She would rather avoid touching someone. She watched silently as the other boy took care of everything himself. She wanted to help but she seemed to recall him say he didn't need it. Well she was glad for one thing, that neither of them scared her enough for her gift to activate, and cause pain for either of them. It would have been bad for her if it was physical caused then they would have known it was her causing it, when it came to mental and emotional pain it was a bit harder to tell.

She quickly picked up her books, as much as she didn't want to continue to hang around these guys, they needed to find the office or at least get to it, and it seemed she was the only one who was talking to them. Great the one day the prefects were slack. "I can take... you there.. to the office.. I mean.." She said to them, hoping they would reject her offer, but she knew that was unlikely. "My name is.. Rose..." She introduced herself since the more excited boy did.

This was utterly embarrassing. Not for him, but for them. He exchanged a look with his own clone, the only person he could ever understand or trust. As he looked at the hand the boy offered him, Remi the original only brushed off the offer, hardly sparing another look after he had turned away. He couldn't help but wonder if the entire school was like this: incapable of proper speech. Still, he did need to find the office, and as he wasn't prepared to approach anybody new, he would have to follow the girl.

His double redoubled its grip on the suitcase it was holding.
"Well, Bastien and Rose, we're wasting daylight here," he said, an unnatural brightness to his tone. "So I suggest we hop to it." With a sweeping arm, he gestured for them to lead the way.

It seemed Bastien had run into a very shy person and a very standoff-ish person. The perfect first challenge for the white haired boy! He did love challenging people, though the girl seemed really nice despite her shy nature. The boy, on the other hand, was a little harder to get to. He just didn't seem to enjoy the company of Rose and Bastien.

Oh goody! It seemed the girl knew the direction to the office! Bastien was glad to have a guide that was better than the vague directions he had just gotten. 'Thank you! He scribbled on his paper, grinning when Remi said that they should hop to it. Speaking of the doubled person, he hadn't given his name. With a skip in his step, Bastien followed Rose.

Scribbling something out on his notepad he held it up to Remi. 'I didn't catch your name.' Was the first thing, which he only showed Remi since he had caught Rose's. Then he turned the paper over and began something else, which he showed to only Rose. 'So we know he has duplication or whatever it's called. What's your gift, Rose?'

The duplicator didn't mention his name. He clearly didn't want to be around either of them, but she was his temporary guide to the office, and she would have to deal with him for the time being, and he would have to deal with her and her slow speaking for the moment. Her brown eyes read over what the happier guy was saying. She paused in her gait for a moment before picking up her pace again as they headed to the office. "Ah.... my gift... Uh... Well it's... Pain inducement.." She said her hand messing with the hem of her sweater. "I can give anyone various.... levels of pain... ranging from physical to... mental.. even emotional... pain..." She said describing her gift on the way to the office.

For a brief moment as he walked with them, his double directly behind him, Remi considered not saying anything, perhaps letting the name thing slide. He didn't come here to make friends. In fact, he would never have come here if his parents weren't so eager to get rid of him. He had no plans to make it any easier on them. If they thought he was going to behave more here than he had at home, then they were in for a surprise, because he had no intentions of letting them get rid of him so easily. Nonetheless, he couldn't make it all the way through this year on his own. Might as well tell them.

"Remi," he said shortly, his mouth twitching in something that might be mistaken for a smile. The girl shared her power and he couldn't help but suddenly feel somewhat intimidated. The power to inflict pain of any kind? That was terrifying.

It was always too bad when people were standoff-ish, but Bastien could handle this. Grumpy people could be dealt with, although Bastien didn't know the secret to getting them to talk more. He at least wanted the other guys name, which he earned by asking him directly. 'That's a cool name!' Bastien wrote before Rose answered the question he had asked her.

Woah! Remi's power was cool but Rose's was pretty frightening sounding. Bastien formed an 'o' with his mouth and began to scribble on his paper as they walked. 'I can do that.' Bastien wrote and then flipped it over and began to write quickly. 'Well, kind of. I create hallucinations with the words I speak. Which means I can tell you you've been stabbed but any pain would be purely placebo." Bastien wrote, showing his words to both Remi and Rose.

"Oh..." She responded. "The... the.. pain I create.. is very much real... the effects.. can sometimes linger a little while... after I stopped using my gift.... or the pain can get intense enough... for someone to pass out..." She explained as she continued to guide the two towards the office. She didn't care about sharing about her gift. She never liked using it anyway, so it was better to just tell them. She looked back to what was in front of her and paused. "Here.... Here we are.. This is the office.." She said. Hopefully this would be where they parted ways. Or at least she hoped this is where she parted ways with them.
