Panicked Pepper

It was supposed to be a simple practice in the forest, seeing what sort of dragon she could turn into, but it ended up being much more than that.

Pepper wasn't doing anything important that day and decided it would be nice to practice her power a bit. She took her time wandering into the forest and started training. After about 15 minutes of practicing transformations in the middle of the secluded forest, something stabbed Pepper's lip and it started to bleed. She felt her teeth lightly with her finger and was pricked by shark like fangs, her tongue felt weird. "What the..." She didn't know what was going on or what to do.

She glanced around hoping no one was around, Pepper felt like her heart was gonna burst. The girl stood there for who knows how long until her back was struck with pain. The Summer winced as she felt her back; something was coming out of it. She felt along her back, feeling something familiar. "Wings?" She muttered to herself in shock. What's happening to me?

Pepper turned around when she heard footsteps, her heart beating really fast. What if someone see's me?!

(btw, her teeth are not that noticeable, her wings are the more noticeable part)

The tree swayed underneath him. His weight sent the tree shaking down whatever leaves it had left. A hand was placed on the trunk of the tree, feeling the rough bark under his finger tips. The cold wind ran through his hair, catching his wings and lifting them up. As if encouraging him to fly. In this spot, the prefect felt no fear. It was as if he was in his own little world. It had been a while since he had enjoyed the air, and the blond missed it every second he was away from the air. Sometimes he could bear being parted. Other times he felt compelled to take to the skies. This was one of those moments. And despite the cold, he still enjoyed it.

The movement of a figure below caught his eyes. Normally he'd just leave students to their practicing as it was a very popular spot to do so. But he saw Pepper. Someone he knew. Who could turn into dragons from what he heard. Although, it confused him to see wings on her back instead of her being a dragon, or a normal person. Something was up. Without hesitating, the angel stepped off of the branch and plummeted towards the ground. His wings slowing his descent just so he could land safely on the forest floor. After regaining his footing, the blond returned his focus on Pepper. A concerned look on his face.

Pepper's head turned around when she felt the gaze of someone behind her. By now she had full blown dragon wings, teeth, tongue, and her eyes were starting to turn. "No! Don't look at me!" She choked, horrified of all the people that had to show up it had to be Leo. Pepper took a few stumbling steps backwards. Her throat started to itch and feel hot but this time she knew what was coming. "Loo...Look out!" She coughed hoarsely, breathing a puff of fire. No...I...Didn't mean to! Tears started to fall.

The prefect worriedly took a step forward, his eyebrows bunched together. Leo was obviously confused. Had her transformation stopped? What was wrong? His mouth opened to talk, then snapped shut as she spoke. Her teeth looked much sharper. Were tongues supposed to be that sharp? No. It was only thanks to her warning was Leo able to jump back in time to avoid being singed. The puff of fire was an intense heat, forcing him to close his eyes shut. As soon has he felt the flames fade, the prefect's blue eyes opened to see Pepper crying.

He took another step forward, holding a hand out. "H-hey. Calm down." Leo tried to make his voice as soothing as possible, yet it still had some shake to it. He'd rather not lose an eyebrow to calming Pepper down.

Her sight started to get blurry from the tears. "Calm down?! Look at me! How am I suposed to be calm?" She said hysterically. Her eyes turned fully "dragon" and everything turned blue and blurry. She could barely see Leo anymore. "I don't know what to do! What's happening to me!" Pepper cried, spreading her wings. Maybe I should just fly? But to where? Leo has wings right, couldn't he just follow me? Her thoughts raced around.

"It's not like it can't be undone. You need to relax in order to think this though." The blond did his best to reason with her. Although Leo understood that she may not listen to reason. He had a backup plan, but he wanted her to calm down on her own. Carefuly watching her mouth, he took a few more steps closer to where he was only a few feet away from her. His blue eyes paying close attention to her mouth, as he realized the danger of her random bursts of fire. "It is you power without a doubt." The prefect let his voice go soft, his hand still extended.

Pepper stood there listening to Leo. She still wanted fly away but his voice was somewhat soothing. Think it through?! How can I think it through when I have no clue what's going on! At this point she was determined thag flying away was the best option. Why does he hold out his hand when he knows I couls hurt him? The girl was so confused and slowly spread her wings, her tail lashing. She had no idea if it was like flying as a dragon but hopefully it would work. Without warning, Pepper jumped up and started to fly, tears streamed down her face again.

A frown crossed his face, and the prefect shot himself into the air. It was obvious that Leo was better at controlling his flight. It was Pepper's first time transforming part way like this based off of her reaction. His large white wings had to put little effort into lifting him into the air after Pepper. In fact, he quickly over took her and positioned himself in front of her path. With a deep breath, the prefect first began to calm himself, knowing this plan would not work without first his mind soothed.


Suddenly, he dove down towards Pepper. A arm looped around the base of her dragon wings in order to keep her from flying away. As calmly as possible, the angel rested a hand on her forehead. Much like he had with Mason all those weeks ago. With his mind calm, Leo sent holy energy toward his hand. Hopefully having a soothing effect.

Now that he was holding Pepper by her wings, she was unable to fly. Meaning Leo was carrying her weight. His wings putting more effort into keeping him aloft.

Pepper wasn't surprised Leo caught up with her and gave a squeak as he grabbed her wings. What is he going to do?! She didn't really know the full extent of his power. Unable to fly she and worried for her life, she suddenly felt a wave of calm overwelm her. Dazed from what had happened, Pepper's wings were still being held by the angel and she let her body go limp. The smaller things like her teeth, tounge, eyes, and tail slowly disapeared but her wings stayed.

The prefect carefully studied her face. Once any signs of panic were gone, he began to let the strokes of his wings slow. Thus letting him glide downward. He gently removed his hand from her forehead and readjusted his grasp on Pepper. Once his feet touched the forest floor again, Leo rested Pepper on the ground. Worriedly, he hovered over her. Yet he seemed slightly relieved that a few of the traits were disappearing, proving that his hypothesis was correct. "See? You're alright."

Pepper felt the pair descend from the sky and didn't say a word. She lay on the ground for a few moments before pushing herself up. Standing up, she realized that her teeth and other dragon traits had disapeared, but her wings and possibly fire breath were still noticeable. "Thanks." Pepper mumbled in shame. "But...What about these?" She asked, running a hand along her wing, staying calm but felt a twing of nervousness.

Leo frowned at the wings. It reminded him a lot of Devin's situation. "If we can't get you to transform back to normal, you may have to live with them for a little bit until you can figure it out." He frowned, moving forward to take a look at the wings. Suddenly, he waved his hands in front of his face as if trying to dispel a worry. "Don't freak out! I have a friend that has to deal with that too. He's doing just fine."

His hand rested on Pepper's wing, making a note of the diferances that they had. Her's was like bat wings, while his own was like a bird's. It was a bit odd to the Angel, but he understood that a lot of things can fly like that. Although it seemed normal to Leo to have feathers on their wings. The prefect moved around to take a look at the back of her wings. He made sure to fold his own white wings behind his back so he didn't hit them on any of the shrubbery around them. "I bet you if you practiced, you could fly much better."

Pepper gave a sigh as she took in what Leo said. "I'm...Sorry." She said meekly. She watched the prefect as he examined her wings looking a bit confused. "It's not flying that I'm worried about." Pepper honestly didn't know what to say. Would it sound stupid to say she didn't want people to see her like this? Like she had low self esteem?

Leo scoffed and gave her a look. "Don't be sorry. These things happen. Trust me, I've seen worse." That may or may not be comforting to her. Yet it was true. It's nothing like what happened with Mason. Who uprooted multiple trees with just a yell. That was pretty terrifying. This event had nothing on it. Yet Leo still care for her either way. Much like Devin, or Mason.

Pepper gave a meek smile, glad Leo was trying his best to cheer her up. "Well, you have wings. Maybe you could give me a few flying tips?" She hoped she didn't sound weird. "I mean, flying as a dragon vs a human is kinda different."
