If Matthew still had his common sense, he would've agreed. But instead, he just shrugged. "It's your choice. I ain't gonna try and force anything on you. But the offer is still there if you change your mind." he said.

Stop tempting her. Sophia closed her eyes and looked away trying to clear her head. As much as she wanted to she just couldn't. It was wrong. She stood and walked over to the fridge, grabbed another beer. Instead of going back to the couch, she ended up leaning on the counter. He was probably going to be really embarrassed by what he did when he was sober.

Matthew noticed when Sophia didn't come back to sit down so he got up and wandered over to her. He made the executive decision to turn her around and began to kiss her. He wasn't totally sure what made him do it. But he wasn't gonna complain.

At first Sophia accepted the kiss, but once she realized it, she placed a hand on his chest and pushed him away. "No. We can't be doing this." She said with a slight huff, looking away from the winter boy.

"Aww come on, what's the big deal?" he said, moving closer.

Sophia looked up at him sharply. "The big deal is that you are drunk. You don't know what you are doing. If you were sober this would be different, but you aren't." She said crossing her arms over her chest, but she didn't move. She had wished he would be sober, but alcohol takes a bit to move through your system.. He didn't even consume that much. It was just beer. How long would that take?

"The only difference would be that I wouldn't be so upfront and forward. If you'd like, we can wait until the alcohol wears off." Matthew said, unmoving.

Her gaze shifted away from the boy in front of her. No she wasn't going to instantly put it on him when he was sober again. She would ask again. "I will ask when you are sober. I'm not going to suddenly put it on you. But it's going to be a while before you are." She said. She shifted, and moved away from the boy trying to keep distance between them.

Matthew backed off. He had pushed far enough. For now. "I can wait. How long do you think its gonna be?" he asked.

"I don't know. An hour or two maybe?" She shrugged. "I'm used to it being longer for me because I consume a lot more alcohol." She was glad he backed off though. She let out a sigh of relief, and sat back down on the couch, turning on the t.v. to pass time.

Matthew sat on the opposite end on the couch, occasionally glancing around the room. He couldn't really focus right now so he was only half-paying attention to the television. He put his hand on the coffee table and began messing with his gift. "Maybe this'll help speed things along." he said.

Sophia glanced at the boy. How was that supposed to help? She wasn't sure. "How is that supposed to help? You are just absorbing wood." Was absorbing the wood just to pass time, or was there something about his gift that could help speed up the process?

"It does take concentration and energy, you know. This isn't effortless." he said, laughing. Re removed his hand from the table very slowly as the wood wavered but didn't go down off of his arm. His breathing became audible after a few moments of doing that. He finally let the wood slip and he sighed in relief. "It's harder than it looks." he told her.

"I never said it was easy. Just like disintegrating things isn't easy. It may seem that way but it really takes it toll." She removed the glove off her left hand, and showed him the cracks that had formed on her fingers from the two bottles. They were small but you could still seem them. She had replaced the glove, and let out a small sigh. "But I meant, how is it supposed to help in the terms of making you sober? Or just does it pass time." She asked.

"It both wastes time, and it uses energy, which in turn does some mumbo jumbo and it just burns through the alcohol quicker. I can't explain it right now. Ask me tomorrow or something." he said, returning to the table. "I wonder what else I could absorb." he thought aloud.
