Beata's First Rock Band- imeanwut

Jayden Wright sat down in the studio. It was really a mess; what, with chairs and empty cases haphazardly thrown about the room. And yet he felt at peace here, amongst the chaos. All was quiet aside from the ringing sound of bow against string. He seemed very focused on playing, and rosin danced around in the air, falling and floating as it caught the sunlight. Whenever the song was over, he placed the wooden instrument down and stretched out his arms, slightly resembling a cat.
The boy looked around, wondering for a moment where his brother was. This new school was hectic and insane, full of life and sound- and that was great. But at times Jayden was overwhelmed with it all. Jason was really the only friend he had at the moment. Which was rather depressing on Jayden's part. Come on bro, go make friends. And then frosty added some more stuff to make this more interesting but she'll be vague because she's tired. but she promises it's awesome. yup.

Evelyn had come in search of a piano.

It was just a little thing, really... but it was something she was passionate about. She had never played it often, and she never even owned a piano on her own. Evelyn wasn't quite sure why she felt so strongly about finding one now. Perhaps it was simply the start to her life on Beata. Whatever the reason, she had caught word that there was musical instruments in the Studio. Hopefully it would be vaca--

Evelyn rounded the corner to hear faint music. It sounded beautiful, and completely original too. She slowed her pace, quietly continuing and following her ears until she stood at the door. Gently she pushed it open, just in time for the song to stop. Evelyn paused, before pushing it open even further and peeking into the room.

"O-oh, sorry..." Evelyn started upon seeing the boy stretching, before her eyes fell towards the stringed instrument. Was he playing that? She began to back away, before her eyes caught sight of the piano, tucked in the corner of the room.

Perfect.

She'd return when the room wasn't occupied. Evelyn couldn't possibly play with others around...

Honestly, if he hadn't seen the door open and she didn't stand there the entire time, he wasn't completely sure if he'd notice her or not. Jason paused from behind her, not completely sure if he should say something, he didn't want to startle her; but then again, he didn't want to be standing here all day. Well, not only would alarm her, but he might also spill the drinks he was carrying. D8 (Coffee for him and chocolate milk for his little brother.)
Eh. What could happen? "Hello, Evelyn~" The young man nearly sang, looking down at her, then peering inside to see if Jayden was still in there.

Jayden's crimson eyes darted up towards the door. At first he didn't see anyone there, but through closer examination he finally noticed the girl. Jayden blushed slightly, realizing he had been staring. How had he not noticed her? Mentally beating himself up, he waved away her apology. The boy had just finished playing, after all. She didn't interrupt anything.
At the sight of his big brother, Jayden stood up and quickly walked over. Smiling at the young man, Jayden removed the cup from his hand it raised it to his face. He peered over at the girl- Evelyn, past the edge of his cup curiously. Switching the drink to one hand, he signed 'Who is she?' by twirling a single finger in the air then quickly pointing at the girl before returning his hand to the chocolate milk's container.

At the sound of someone behind her, she jumped and nearly did a roundhouse kick.

"J-Jace!" she muttered, looking up at the young man with wide violet eyes. "Uh... h-hello!" Evelyn quickly turned her attention to the ground, before peering up at the boy when she realized that he'd stood up.

Catching sight of the hand motions, she paused. Sign language? Was he mute? Deaf, even? No, he couldn't be. He was playing that music, after all. Maybe that wasn't even sign language... perhaps he was just quiet. She internally debated introducing herself for a few seconds before giving up and turning her attention back to the floor, hugging her forearms close to her chest and awkwardly shuffling her feet.

Even though he tried to see it coming, the young man flinched anyways, trying not to send his coffee flying. "Hey, again~." Jason smiled uneasily, trying to look reassuring, but maybe he shouldn't snuck up on her in the first place - especially since he was almost kicked into the wall. "Fancy seeing you here. Are you lost?" He blinked down at her for a few moments longer, before noticing Jaii sign out of the corner of his eyes.
"This is Evelyn, she's an initiate too. Evelyn, Jayden - Jayden, Evelyn." The young man went on, formally introducing the two to each other.

Jayden gave Evelyn a soft, polite smile before turning back to his brother quickly. For some reason, it was hard to keep his attention focused on her. 'Pleasure to meet you. What are you doing here, may I ask?' His gaze kept flicking over to the girl, then back to his brother as he waited for him to translate. Aside from him and his brother, Jaii hadn't seen a soul enter the studio all day. So it brought up the question of why Evelyn had come in the first place.

Jason walked out of the entry way and into the room, passing her brother and heading to the corner of the room; he took a drink of his coffee and set it down on the table, passively catching every movement of his brother's hands - more preoccupied what he himself was doing. "He said, 'It's a pleasure to meet you. Might I ask what you're doing here?' - or May I ... Close enough." Jace shrugged his shoulders and bent over, finding what he was looking for.

Ah, so he wasn't deaf. Was he just mute, then? It was slightly confusing, but Evelyn tried not to focus on it.

"It's... n-nice to meet you too..." Evelyn started, looking at the two brothers with wide eyes, as if they were about to make her burst into flames with their gaze. "I... was just looking for..." She stopped for a moment, her gaze flicking to the piano before bowing her head. "Um... something..."

Jayden's gaze keep moving from the girl to the ground, to his brother then back to the girl. For some reason, he was unable to focus. He attempted to keep his eyes on her. She was a pretty girl, with piercing eyes. She stood a few inches taller than him, and appeared to be around his age. He looked at his feet a moment, trying to fight off a headache. Why was it so hard to look at her? It was almost like a challenge now, and Jayden looked up again.
He followed her gaze, which danced around like a cornered rabbit's. Nonetheless, he picked up the subtle hint. 'Do you play an instrument?' He gave himself a break, turning his attention to his brother instead of Evelyn.

Jason pulled out an old case, bringing it forward and laying it down on a couple of old boxes - tables were overrated. His gaze flickered back and forth between his task and his brother, looking for any more conversation that needed to be said. Strangely enough, still though, every time he glanced in Evelyn's direction, his mind had him pondered with his black case not a moment later, unless he forced himself to focus. "You play an instrument?" He didn't catch her little glance at the piano.

Evelyn awkwardly moved her hands over her hands and arms now, keeping her gaze averted. "W-well, I..." she started, pausing for just a moment. "I play... piano... I'm not very good, though..." she continued in a quieter tone, so it was a strain just to hear her. Evelyn shuffled her feet, inching her back towards a wall.

The young man finished pulling out his instrument, setting the case back on the floor; he absent-mindedly ran his fingers up and down the strings, an old looking violin. One that he seemed to have had for a long time, but that was well cared for. He set it and the bow back down and forced himself to look at their guest. "The piano?" He repeated in question. Evelyn talked so quietly, he wasn't even sure that he had heard her right.
Jace glanced at in the corner of the room, a light cover over it - since it was never played by too many people. "Is that what you were looking for?" He put on a small smile, "You can go ahead and use it if you want." Jason encouraged her, "Maybe even play a song with us?"

Evelyn's face burned at that. She quickly looked up at the two brothers, shaking her head slightly. "N-n-no... that's alright..." she said, violet eyes wide as she brought her forearms close to her chest, her long fingers barely peeking over the sleeves of her school uniform and clasping the fabric to her wrist. She brought her gaze back down to the floor, brown bangs sweeping down and obscuring her face. Body stiff as wood, she briefly contemplated on what to do.

Should I leave? Do I just walk out? No, that would be rude... Do I just stand here? That would be weird, though... she wondered, her heart and stomach fluttering from panic and anxiety. All she could do was stare at the floor, locked in place, unsure of what to do.

Jayden's eyes brightened. He moved over to his cello, snaking through randomly placed chairs. Honestly, this place was about as unorganized as his room back home. And that was saying something. He sat down in his claimed seat and quickly signed, 'I insist., before turning the pages of his ringed binder, looking for the perfect song. He now expected Evelyn to join them, and didn't contemplating her declining anymore. Although, it was definitely a possibility...
