The Winter Formal - Page 2 Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Winter Formal   The Winter Formal - Page 2 EmptySun Feb 09, 2014 5:31 pm

A young girl with black hair neatly placed in a fishtail braid in her hair with peircing blue eyes entered the grand hall. The dress she wore covered her whole torso and legs, as the silver dress worn was indeed sleeveless. Long, white gloves were around the girls' arms and the ruffled skirt of her dress flowed and confined neatly around her. Yet, the top was her favorite. It was neatly outlined at the top and had a shimmering snowflake in the center; and small jewels surrounded it to look like snow. Earrings matching her dress were worn, and she knew that she had out done herself. But as she stepped in, a warm embrace took her. The grand hall was gorgeously put together, perfect icicles hung and the snow theme looked magnificent. With the power of Freeze Vision, this felt like her dorm room, which she covered in a chilling frost. As her blue orbs rested on an ice statue, she trailed over and stood there to wait for Sam- the one who had asked her to the dance.

This girl was Luna Barton, an official member of the Autumn guild. Her eyes watched the door for her date, but they scanned elsewhere for signs that he was already there. But as she saw the snack table, she had to go and take a few of the blocks of cheese to munch on, because she didn't want to get crumbs in her dress so early on. When Luna made her way past the crowd to the tray, she slipped a few into one hand. Slipping back to her position, she slipped one into her mouth. The chewy snack was indeed to her liking, and she tried to hide away from the crowd.

"And you look pretty damn spiffy in that tux, Lupo," Cyth replied, giving him a quick once-over. He did look pretty damn spiffy, if she'd say so herself. She walked with Mount over to the punch bowl, eyeing it with disgust. "I don't like punch," she said quietly, watching him as he poured himself a glass. "Especially because people usually spike it." She hated punch, and she hated the taste of alcohol even more, so she usually avoided punch at all costs. Punch is nasty.

Sam walked in, not too worried about being late. The dance had just started a few minutes ago, after all. Scanning the crowd, his eyes came to rest upon the ice-blue ones of his date, Luna. Walking over swiftly, he grinned at her. "Hello, Luna. That dress is really awesome, not quite how I'd pictured it when you described it but it's beautiful all the same, and it really compliments your figure," he commented. "This tux looks cool, but it's very.." He paused to pull on the collar. "Stuffy. And the collar's kinda tight."

The Winter Formal - Page 2 Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Winter Formal   The Winter Formal - Page 2 EmptySun Feb 09, 2014 10:46 pm

Soon after Lamia had tested the mic, there were so many people coming in. A few she could recognize - most of them not so much - but it amazed her that there were so many students at Beata that actually cared to go to the Winter Formal. Most of all, it meant a lot of her peers silently judging her while she performed. How was she to react to that? While she was trying to boost up her confidence and all, anxiety over something so important to her entire reputation was quite overwhelming. Reputation was almost everything at this school, having a bad one puts you down on the mark where others will really just absolutely bring it down to the point where basically, that student is part of the lunch trash that no one wants to touch, look at, or bother with. And when you bother with that trash, horrible things happen. Or so they say.

She had decided to leave her eye patch at home - she'd stand out too much with it on her - same with her parasol, which would probably break a thing or two if she wound up swinging it so much. Looking around, she spotted a boy with a bass, so he's one of the other band members, and then the girl who had randomly shouted on stage with the electric guitar. These band members seemed interesting. As soon as she had walked through the curtains of the stage to get a better glimpse at who else was there, the innocent thief of time had wound up catching Aiko before getting knocked over by her as she had ran over to examine all the sparkly elegant décor.

"....... O-o....oww....." It took her a little while to realize who was the one who had made her stumble, but, nonetheless, this was an interesting scene right by the stage. She couldn't exactly get up at the moment with the other twin girl on her, but she couldn't exactly stay here to get noticed by others. Moreover, her clothes were white - they could get dirty, though those were the least of her worries. "A-a....Aiko....! I-I....I'm... s-s....sorry..."

On the other hand, Aethra was quickly taking notes of the other students and how they appeared. Most were pretty fancy appearing at the moment, most of the guys appearing as though they disliked the stiff appearance and textures of the their suit, though overall, this was pretty decent and close enough to what she did at home with her family. It'd help to see what she could observe for the time being to send back to her large mansion over in France to give her family her progress. Taking a seat on one of the many chairs circling the tables, a pencil in hand and a notebook on the other, she quickly began to draw the many people there in their outfits, making quick sketches to refine later.

Looking up, she realized Jackie was there, just eating the many snacks available and just... staring off into space. Should she interrupt her? It was awfully impolite to do so when someone is in thought, but, eating everything available and not having anyone else get a chance to is also not quite polite. Putting the pencil gently on her lips, Aethra flapped the angelic wings on her head before letting out a sigh, walking over and apologizing to anyone she had bumped into. Moreover, she gave a quick greeting to Montare before tapping the red-eyed girl on the shoulder with her pencil.

"You seem to be enjoying yourself over here Jackie," her never-changing voice said from behind. It could be freaky if it wasn't expected, though by now, the other girl would at least realize if anyone was to sneak up behind her, it's Aethra. Who else would do something like that in a generally polite way?

Ooc: I'm a little late...

Mallach walked in, hugging the wall as best as he could. Tables? Good. Now he could enjoy the party from far away while having access to food! He didn't have to be outgoing or anything! He grabbed a couple snacks and leaned against the wall in an alcove, being careful not to get food stains on his suit. paid to much for this thing to get it dirty now...

----------------------------

Nebun walks down the center of the entrance with an arrogant smile, as though viewing all those around him as insects. Of course a more accurate portrayal of the way he viewed them would be "side-dishes". His stomach growled just looking at the people around him eyes off! They may look delicious, but if you touch one of them you are out of this academy! he reminds himself with a shake of the head. His arrogance was not a sign of popularity, that much was clear from the way he looked at his peers, instead it was more of a cold assurance in himself. He straightened his black vest and approached the meat section of the snack table, loading his plate with all the most undercooked dishes. He would have had it raw if he had a choice... hopefully nobody will ask me to dance he thinks to himself, revolted by the idea of associating with another person.

Wow, look at all the beautiful- Her thought was cut off as Aiko ran into an unexpected Lamia. After awkwardly basically sitting on her there, Aiko leaped back up and dusted off her dress. "Oh no it's okay it was totally my fault! I really shouldn't be running around here. Sorry about that!" She apologized, holding out a hand to help the singer up. Speaking of which...
"Hey, aren't you going to be singing tonight?" Aiko asked, already knowing the answer from rumors and from the fact that she helped with some effects backstage, but wanting to double-check.

Katsuo glanced around, admiring the beautiful scenery since he had nothing else to do in this post :D

The Winter Formal - Page 2 Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Winter Formal   The Winter Formal - Page 2 EmptyMon Feb 10, 2014 5:09 pm

It was one thing to walk into a Formal without anyone to walk with or even dance. Yet, he was one guy that didn't need a girl to be with. If fact he was not there to really make friends but to scout out everyone. He had no reason to dress up or even look nice. In fact he could not as he had just come to the school maybe a day earlier. His things were still coming in boxes and to make things worse, he had no dorm yet. It was quite humorous for him as the idea of coming to a school and not having a place to really call his dorm was something he found rather funny. He was wearing a black sweatshirt and ontop was a black leather jacket. On the arms of the jacket were two white stripes. The collar was red and on the back of the jacket was a design that had three shapes to it.

He stopped in front of the Grand Hall. It was much bigger than he thought it would be. He looked at the rest of the other students walking by all dressed up. There were some walking in with their significant others and some with friends. They all seemed so happy and ready for the rest of the night. He looked down at what he was wearing and smirked to himself. It was funny how he was the only one that was not dressed appropriately at all. Maybe there was a dress code and some guy was at the door making sure everyone was dressed accordingly. This was one thing and possibly there was another problem. He also knew that egos were running high and cliques were going to take their spots in the Grand Hall and the battleground was going to be marked. He of course wanted to avoid any kind of confrontation and make sure that he was not going to dance with anyone really but if it would come down to it; he wanted to avoid to drama connected with that one person. He sighed to himself and walked to the Hall.

He passed by a few people as they gave him a few looks for what he was wearing and the fact that he was the newbie at school. All it really did was stroke his ego and a smirk grew across his face. Passing through the doors of the Hall and into the room were a lot of people were dancing. The music filled the room and sent a small vibration through the room as the bass was strong enough to shake everything. He felt every vibration as his body was sensitive to the bass. He looked around and he was looking for each clique. He wanted to know who they were and how to avoid them. He also wanted to learn about the competition.

Tonight he was going to have fun.

PostSubject: Re: The Winter Formal   The Winter Formal - Page 2 EmptyMon Feb 10, 2014 7:44 pm

Another girl stepped into the grand hall, her long pink hair was neatly held up in a bun. She wore a long black dress, a silvery lace adorned the dress's midsection, drawing out the student's figure. On the girl's face was a light amount of makeup, black eye liner winged out from the top of her eye lids and she wore a light pink lipstick. The Autumn student glided into the large room, clutching a small purse in her hand.

Kearn followed shortly after in a regular black tux, a dark blue handkerchief tucked into the front pocket. He walked in slowly and calmly, his thumbs sticking out of the dress pant's pockets as other fingers were tucked in. He had heard the rumor about his sister singing for the band, and he couldn't be more excited to be there for her. That's what family was for right? Sticking together?

As an older brother, (not really, they're a minute apart, but Lamia was in a coma for a few years so he likes to consider himself an older brother) he constantly worried about Lamia's well being. Because they are not in the same house, it worried him even more. Come to think of it... besides classes, homework, hygiene, and worrying about his sister, Kearn hadn't much time to his self...Perhaps he could enjoy this night for himself, Lamia's responsible enough...

PostSubject: Re: The Winter Formal   The Winter Formal - Page 2 EmptyMon Feb 10, 2014 8:42 pm

Evelyn hadn't planned on showing up.

She stood at the snack table, downing cup after cup of punch, paying little mind to the wondrous decorations or the other students in attendance. Dances were stupid. People were stupid. Everything about this stupid dance was stupid, stupid, stupid. But the girl was starving, and had no food available to her except the overpriced pocky that she dared not touch since the fateful incident with Lette. All that besides, it seemed like her dormmate did not plan to attend, and Evelyn did not want to spend the night knowing that she was just in the room over. The girl drained her cup again before slamming it down, trying to drown out the shameful memory. Fuck this. It doesn't even taste like punch. Here she was, miserable and pissed off, while everyone else looked positively joyous. Evelyn began to refill her cup with the strange tasting punch, her mood darkening with every smile she saw.

At least her dress looked pretty, or so she hoped. Evelyn had even gone through the trouble of donning make-up and earrings, things she usually didn't trifle with. Dressed to dance, but without any such intention. Nobody would have asked her out in a million years anyways, she assumed. Well, somebody might have, but then I put him in the infirmary. She brought the cup to her lips again, looking out for him. He's handsome... Probably with some dumb bimbo now. I bet he forgot my name again too.

Montare himself had drank three cups of punch to deal with his dry throat, although he stopped from noticing what seemed a familiar taste that should not have been present, whatever it may have been. He was now regretting not heeding Cyth's warning. "I think you're right about it being spiked, Wright." Montare half-whispered to Cyth. He also thought he saw something like someone else by the table, but he shrugged it off. Montare started thinking more about the taste, trying to identify what it was. Something's up with the punch for sure..

The Autumn had heard her before he had saw her, his golden gaze catching her eyes from a good number of feet away. Judging by his reaction, he probably seemed caught a little off-guard because damn, she had been pretty when they ran into each other in the stables - but she was looking beautiful tonight. Her hair was the first thing he had noticed, then her dress - that seemed to hug every one of her curves. He tried not to look for too long, nodding in greeting with a small, sharp smile - he let his eyes travel around the room still; as far as he was concerned, there was a game still being played here. The young man glanced back down her way when she smoothly ran a hand down his arm, leaving a small trail of sparks where she touched, and he started to question if the odds of winning were really in his favor. "You look quite nice yourself, Sweet Pea." Jason mused, "A beauty fit for a queen, eh?" With a slightly crooked smile, he gently brushed a stray strand of hair out of her face, letting his fingers rest on her cheek for a moment. "Perfect."
Finally, Jace took her arm in his - easily getting the hint - and led them both into the Grand Hall.

His gaze traveled up to the front stage where he saw his brother sitting down, his bass sprawled out on his lap in front of him as he quickly through a little signs over - to which Jason couldn't help but laugh a little. That little shit. 'You too.' He signed back and winked at him, throwing a momentary glance back at another girl he had seen while he had been waiting for his date. The girl who had come to Jace just to learn how to speak with Jayden, flustered but determined. If that wasn't a sign of interest, Jace didn't know what was - so it came to no surprise to him when he learned that Jaii was going to the dance with Noa. She looked awfully cute tonight too, he thought - and judging by the look now on Jayden's face, he probably thought so too.

ooc;; I'm sorry, I'm going to have to answer the other posts later...

The Winter Formal - Page 2 Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Winter Formal   The Winter Formal - Page 2 EmptyTue Feb 11, 2014 5:01 pm

Ooc- I bit late aren't I?

Yet another girl rushed down the path, sea foam half inch heels in hand. Stray strands of brown hair, escaped from a loose bun, waved in and out of her face as Laurel rushed towards the hall. Oh no, the young student didn't have a date; she just wanted to see what it was like to be at a formal occasion for once. A chill ran down her bare arms and she regretted leaving her sweater in her dorm. Stopping outside the door to the  Grand Hall, she slipped on her shoes before stepping inside. 'Maybe it'll be warmer in there?', she thought.

She would have laughed at how ironic that sounded to her now, if it hadn't been for the fact what was so ironic, chilled her to the bone. Everything was icy or winter-themed. It was rather beautiful, and the girl forgot for a moment the goosebumps rising on her arms. Rubbing her half closed fists against her pale arms, she immediately strode over and picked up a glass of punch.

Gazing around while holding the cup, her blueish orbs noticed one word that would describe this scene perfectly: FANCY. It struck her a bit odd at how many people showed up in tuxes or dresses. At home, she had never seen anyone dress like this ever, only once at some random cousin's wedding. Hell, that was the only time she had ever been to a party. And by ever, she meant not even been to her own birthday party. She had been thought of an animal at home, and had been sent here as quickly as her mother had learned of the school. Taking a small sip of the punch, she found out what the term 'spiked' meant. Thank whoever gave her the supposed 'gift'.

At first it was completely normal, multiple fruits and all that jazz. Then something burned the back of her throat. Coughing a little, she recognized the taste of something like gasoline.. alcohol? A slight memory of the wedding mentioned popped into her head. Beer had looked a lot like Dr. Pepper at the time.. Casually putting the glass back down, she moved away from the punch towards a bowl of grapes and cheese cubes.

Mental Note: Beware the Punch. Stabbing alternatively between the small green fruit and cheddar with a long shiskabob, the Spring student wandered in the throng of people chatting, dancing, and just plain chilling being teens.

Nebun looks about himself in a state of poorly concealed boredom. He pops another bit of undercooked meat into his mouth with a grimace I would have preferred raw, but this will have to do... he sighs. Suddenly a girl with wisps of hair sticking out came in. She didn't look anything like the common run of boring students that filled the grand hall, she was disheveled and... quite lovely he caught himself thinking, jerking his head to the side.
Stupid! She was just another student, and likely just as revolted by his abilities and...tendencies, as everybody else.
Still, he found himself approaching her by the cheese cubes and leaning down "Hello, I don't think we've met. My name is Nebun." He says, offering a pale hand. He had to stoop slightly from his height of 6 foot 3 inched, but at this point he was more than a little used to it.

The Winter Formal - Page 2 Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Winter Formal   The Winter Formal - Page 2 EmptyTue Feb 11, 2014 11:15 pm

The summer near jumped at the sound of her name being called out, not that she was scared or anything, just that she simply was not used to being yelled at out of the blue like that - at least without any trouble following afterwords. Alicia spun on her heel, turning to face the source of the sound.
"Oh, hello Jacob." The girl hadn't expected to see him so soon and starting to look about as flustered as he was. Her cheeks near turned as red as her dress as she fidgeted around, brushing her hair behind her ear. "You don't think it's too much?" She questioned, gazing up at him.
"You look well too - oh, that's not a good word - I mean, you look handsome - or - I - ?" Now was she complimenting him too much? The words started rambling nervously out of her mouth as she tried to keep the bright look on her face. Alicia couldn't help but notice how nice his smile was, and how it didn't help at all with the butterflies in her stomach. Where did they even come from, she wondered.

Brailynn was keeping quietly to herself, humming a soft tune and fiddling with the bands on her high-heels - to which she was not at all accustomed to wearing. She didn't expect anyone to actually come to the door for her, well except the slight chance of one her parents showing up, or Richard, whom she had assumed she was going to meet up with at the dance itself. Wouldn't that be nice? The Spring felt a slight warmth on her cheeks when she thought about him. What would they do? It'd be nice, right? Sitting and talking together, laughing with the music, dancing up close and...
The young woman suddenly felt squirmish, pushing those thoughts away. No, nothing like that would happen, and she was silly for imagining otherwise. They were just friends. 'But what if...?'
When the rapping hit her door, her heart jumped near as high and quickly as she herself did unto her feet - going way too fast and tripping on her heel as it caught on her dress. "Dammit." She hissed as she hit the floor, thankfully able to catch herself for the most part. The blonde called out, "Coming!" Lynn quickly stood up and straightened herself out, dusting her dress off. By the time she opened the door, her face was a light - but noticeable tint of red.

Preston had sat down, taking a drinking of his punch and continuing to "admire the view". He still couldn't help but feel like something was off, though. The initiate paused in thought before casting a glance into his glass cup, giving it a curious look. He had his suspicions before deciding that he really didn't care how it tasted and quickly took a few more large gulps. It didn't occur to him what was wrong until he he quickly felt the familiar sparks of fire hit his belly. He smirked in amusement and was about to take another drink when a girl nearby decided to speak up to him.
Was he knew here? Pres raised an eyebrow at this girl before he let his gaze wander. She had nice legs. "Is it really that obvious?" The young man scoffed before taking another drink of his punch.

Seeing the Summer girl red and flustered was strangely cute, like her emotions were all for him. It was flattering, to be honest, though he figured she was feeling too nervous to agree. At the very least, it helped him calm his own nerves a tad, allowing a more full smile to appear on his face. That wasn't right, though: it was bad to feel any sort of enjoyment from someone's discomfort, so he tried to suppress those kinds of feelings, even if they weren't thought in malice.

"Too much? No way! It looks great on you." Seriously, it did. Even though Alicia wasn't exactly a very outgoing girl, that dress surely did give that appearance. It was all he could do to keep his eyes on hers rather than give her entire body another once-over, because damn. Still, being politely confined to looking at her face wasn't a bad thing, she was incredibly pretty anyway. While not exactly a hair expert, Jacob knew she had done something with it, and it was quite nice, somehow making her same brown-colored eyes sparkle under the winterly lights of the hall. He had to suppress a laugh when she fumbled with her words in complementing his appearance, or perhaps just his attire. God, she was absolutely adorable when she did that. If he hadn't felt like she would freak out, he would give her a hug. Maybe later. "Well thank you. You're quite the flatterer, you know?" Glancing around the dance floor real quick, it came to mind that not a lot of people were dancing. It seemed like most people were at some point milling around the refreshments instead. "Would you like to go somewhere else in the room?" he asked, thinking she might feel a bit more comfortable in an area that wasn't the center of attention. "We can talk for a bit before the dance truly starts." In response to that idea, he offered her his hand to take, though he wasn't too sure she'd take him up on the offer.

Ooc: Gonna post one more time, then I'm done for a bit.

IC:

Luna blushed at his comment, but had a smile. "Well, I think that tux looks nice on you, Sam." She remarked, fixing one of her long gloves. She still had a piece of cheese in one hand, and quickly ate it before giving a soft chuckle. "I never have been one for dances, personally. I was originally only going to avoid being known as the only person to not go, but since we're together as a pair, it's much better." Luna said in a quiet tone, but it was still loud enough to be heard easily. She looked at the ice statue and leaned up against it, unaware of how cold it was. Yet it felt smooth against her thin frame, and she had no ultimate worry of water on the expensive dress she had to get from her mother.

Meanwhile, Jane had decided to leave the stage for a bit and stuff her face full of crackers, cookies, and wash it down with some water, as punch was somethjng she saved until the dance in her personal mind. Her nerves were up at the thougt of playing, and she had a small fear she would mess up, but she knew others were just as nervous.
