Round 3: 'Magic' Stein vs. Brailynn Moore

Magic looked very displeased with the arena he was in. Like what the fuck? Endless water and yet they were standing on it? He didn't need some strange dream like shit right now, and yet it was here. He also had an issue with his opponent. He knew she didn't do much in her two rounds, and he only had one but still at least he finished the battle. The winter frowned. No matter how he looked at this it was going to be tough, but there was no way he was going to lose to her, even if they might be on friendly terms with one another.

The winter was prepared to get close to her in case his attacks didn't work at all. He had a weapon hidden on him prepared in case she got close when he didn't want her to. He had an urge to reach for it to make sure it was there, but he didn't. He didn't want to give away that he had one seeing how he didn't use one the last match. His grey green eyes watched his opponent waiting for the match to start.

It was conflicting, to say the least. On one hand, she had made it this far the rather boring way, not by showcasing her skills and giving that rush she loves, but by flukes when her opponents either left or somehow skirted through the rules, one way or another. That was boring. On the other hand, it was the farthest she had ever made it through the tournament, and she was completely confident that she would have made it this far either way. And she got to face Magic of all people, one of the strongest in the school. That was her silly dream, just short of being able to face Kayla, like she'd promised.

With a smile, Brailynn grabbed a band, shifting around excitedly on her feet and tying her hair back. People tended to underestimate her in these fights. That was alright with her. It gave her a strange sort of advantage when she could surprise them with what she was really made of. "Hey, good luck!" The blonde called over. They weren't exactly friends, and they'd only spoken and trained a bit together a few times outside of the tournament, but she still had a good vibe towards the boy. Hopefully that could stick once the day was done.

"Yeah good luck." He responded in a regular tone. There was the bell.. Right... he was supposed to attack now. Well might as well start with something simple. Get a test of her abilities first then he could figure out a plan of action against Brailynn. He certainly wasn't taking her lightly. He was already aware of some things she could do, but not all of it. He knew the water was under them, though he had to wonder if they could go into the water or were they perma jesus all the time?

Whatever he would figure it out later. The winter opened his mouth, and let out a sound attack to get this battle started. He wouldn't allow her to leave his sight. If she did it would go well for him. Let me see what you are truly capable of, Ms. energy manipulator. She was going have to go all out if she hoped to win this battle, and so was he.

If he was determined to keep her in his sight, then his plan of action wouldn't be all that difficult. There was nothing around for her to hide from, literally surrounded by a world full of water. She figured on the spot that if she were to beat Magic, it would have to be quick, and definitely up close and personal. Once the signal to the match started, she began a slow, cautious walk. Long-ranged attacks weren't her cup of tea, and she wanted to see if he was willing to hit her first. And so he was.

The weight of the sound was a strange feeling. Perhaps it was out of instinct that her hand shot up to cover her ears, although that wouldn't do her much could - she wasn't even sure if she actually heard anything or if it was just her imagination. In any case, the simple attack left her more uncomfortable than anything, the waves Magic emitted bounding off her skin and leaving a strange gold dust in their wake that seemed to burn off into the air. To her, the refreshing feeling of taking in the energy outweighed the small pain of his attack.

Brailynn took a deep breath as the blunt of the attack began to die off, looking back towards him with a smile. 'You ready for this?' The girl question silently. She bunched up the muscles in her legs and in a instant it was like she was flying across the water. A few heartbeats later, she was feet away, leaping up and swinging a kick towards his side.

Yeah he should have figured that was going to do nothing. He knew her gift, and he knew that she could sap energy away from things, though how much energy could she sap. It would be difficult to find out for sure.. Though she probably used it for various thing so she was probably constantly taking and using. It was too risky to find out. Oh she had speed? It was nothing compared to Barry's speed. Even so he was ready for just about anything, and so he was ready for this. The winter boy just jumped back out of the way of the kick. He didn't want to pull his weapon just yet, he had to wait for the perfect moment.

The Spring kept her hazel eyes sharp, twisting around and letting her loose foot skid across the soft waters as she found a delicate balance on her other leg. Soft yellow glowed at her shoes as she pushed herself forward again, making a quick leap towards Magic again, her hands curling up into a fist and aiming her knuckles towards his jaw, swinging upwards in a crude uppercut, her other hand pulled back and quick to move. She wasn't going to give him much room to breath, if she could help it. If she couldn't run, then he wouldn't be able to either. She knew he was a good fighter, she'd seen him from the days in the gym they'd passed each other by, now she wanted to see it in action. Lynn was absolutely itching for a brawl.

So she was going to keep this close huh? Good. He didn't mind it that way. Magic slipped to the side narrowly avoiding her punch. His hand coming up and his finger snagging the small loop on his weapon. He quickly curled his hand around the handle of the weapon, and slashed at the girl in front of him with the karambit. Hoping the point of the knife would dig in to the girl's skin. He wasn't going to fight fair. He never did.

The Spring let out a silent gasp of surprise when she saw the steel flash out, gritting her teeth and throwing up her arm against his to stop his swipe at her. The tip of his blade cut through her shoulder, a thin streak of red appearing in it's place. "Dirty," She said, forcing a small smile and raising her heel again, kicking her foot up straight towards his gut.

Magic felt the kick to his gut, it hurt but it wasn't enough to knock him down. He drew back to recompose, which only took about a second. A large grin grew on his face at her comment. "Not playing fair is my specialty." The winter pushed himself forward slashing his knife towards her again. He needed to draw more blood, make her weak and then finish her off when he got the chance. He wasn't forgetting about his gift, he just was waiting for the right time to use it.

Both of Brailynn's feet found the ground again as the let out a short huff, eying him as he dodged back yet again, her attacks not doing much to wound him. If he wasn't going to play nice, then neither could she. She had spent a lifetime learning how to fight without the use of her powers. She wasn't going to lay down and take it now that it was all she had left to depend on.

As soon as he came slashing at her again, she side-stepped out of the way, drawing back her elbow and jabbing it down at his arm. One, then again, to discourage him away before aiming the blunt of her elbow straight for his jaw.

Magic saw the elbow coming and used his other hand to grab it. Close quarters wasn't just Brailynn's specialty. His grin didn't leave his face as he emitted sound waves into the girl's arm hoping to mess it up just like she had hurt his other one. Once it stopped tingling he could attempt to get at the girl again with his knife. He needed to see more blood.

The young woman gritted her teeth as he caught her elbow, thinking of course things wouldn't be that simple. She didn't skip a beat, even as the sound waves came crashing into her arm, putting painful pressure against the phone and making her muscles feel like jelly. The woman took in a deep breath, focusing her concentration on the sound and absorbing what energy she could, dulling the pain and summoning a warm light between them.

Once she had her fill, the young woman twisted her wrists around, grabbing him by the arms and pulling him towards him, narrowly ducking out if the way of the knife. She kicked him again with the brunt of her knee, the force of her attack stronger than a man twice her size.

Magic let out a sharp gasp as her knee connected with him, but the pain was never unfamiliar. She was still going to have to do much more to take him down. He gritted his teeth, and forced a smile even though his eyes were very narrow when he looked at her. Before she could draw her knee back he brought the knife around trying to dig his knife into her skin on her leg, hoping for some major damage.
