When dragons fall

The smell of the vomit was getting to his nose. It wrinkled as soon as the scent became notice able. Thankfully, as soon as the nurse left, a janitor walked in. The man looked resigned to his fate, most likely having to have cleaned up more than one mess like this in his time employed at the school. It made Leo wonder what else he had seen. The man was almost a war veteran. He had that look in his eyes. The kind that have seen things.

Deciding not to linger on that thought, Leo looked back down at Pepper. His hand gently rested on her head. "I think you are going to be just fine." The prefect told her honestly, a supportive smile on his face. He was doing his best to make her feel better, but smiles and comforting words could only do so much. "Just get some rest, okay?"

Pepper lay there, an embarrsed smile on her fave as Leo stood next to her. "Sorry for taking up your day." She mumbled. Her head felt numb and weird, which was technically better than the pain she had before. With the calming medicines in her body, the girl's wings soon disappeared and her back was relieved from the pinch of wings stabbing her back.

Leo shook his head and quietly thanked the janitor as he left. "It's fine. I'm glad I could do something to help you." He paused, considering what had actually happened. "Even though that lead you to get hurt..." His voice trailed off, and he rubbed the back of his head sheepishly. "Sorry..."

Pepper couldn't help but smile at Leo's apology. "Don't worry, we'll laugh about this someday." She said lightly. Pepper moved her arm awkwardly to her back and felt the spot where the wings had been. "Lets just hope this doesn't happen again."

He gave her a sheepish grin in response. Sure, maybe in the far future he wouldn't be as apologetic about it. Most likely because the results of the accident were long gone. But for now the prefect felt terrible for not being able to stop it. "And if your wings do come back-" He watched her arm feel for her wings. "I can help you learn how to use them if you'd like." Leo paused before giving her a grin. "In a safer environment too." He turned away from the bed, his hands sliding into his pockets.

"Go to sleep. You don't want to miss class tomorrow, do you?" It was a teasing tone. Most teachers wouldn't mind if they didn't come because they were hurt. A common occurrence. Although it did mean for Pepper that she'd have to make up the work.

Pepper was trully glad Leo had a nice personality. Ya, that'd be nice. She thought to herself though she hoped the wings never came back. "Miss a class? I'd never dream of it." She replied. Pepper wouldn't...couldn't miss a class, not with all the college courses she was taking. It would take forever to catch up. "Ya, sleep sounds nice." Pepper said softly, enjoying the thought of sleep. The day had taken quite an odd turn and now, hopefully the two could take a break.

The prefect started towards the door and took out his right hand to turn the knob. "Get better soon, Pepper." With that, he ducked out of the room. He didn't want to stay for long, as she was about to fall asleep. It would be better for her to get as much sleep as possible. The blond headed out of the office and towards the dorms. His homework awaiting completion, and his bed calling his name.
