Shattered Reflection [Genderbending Site Topic] SfP4KU8

According to readings and reports by both private investigators and the school themselves, there has been a strange amount of happenings at an old abandoned mansion out in the rural areas of the western United States. This mansion, whose real name has long since been forgotten (and nicknamed only the 'Yellowstone Castle'), has been speculated to be - to put simply - haunted by ghosts and other paranormal creatures. The Academy suspects differently, however, and believes there to be a weak portal to another dimension located here.

Your job, is to find out exactly what the deal is. A great number of you have been brought to personally investigate the place yourselves and put together a detailed report to a school. As the group number is large, if you spread out, you should all be able to cover every nook and cranny of the mansion in the span of a full day.

If only it were that easy. This place has become a troublesome tourist during the day, so instead, you'll be sent to do your work overnight. But that shouldn't be too much of a problem, right? The old house has no source of power and little else but lanterns inside. The school will provide you with flashlights to make up for this.

Hopefully, you won't run into to much trouble.

___

It was a long ride on the bus from the hotel into the seemingly middle-of-nowhere mansion. The driver was a stout man who refused to say hardly anything and paid little mind to any of the students. He hardly even looked at a person, even if they talked to him. It didn't matter much anyways. He was told little and only paid to drive. By the time he took you to the front of the old abandoned building, the last warm rays of the sun were disappearing beyond the horizon, making way for the chilly night air.

The area seems dead quiet. On the metal fence surrounding the building hangs a wooden sign:

'Those who enter here agree to risk their lives.
Beware.'

Try not to wander too far just yet.

(( This will be a topic without a posting order. Once you are all inside the mansion, something will happen, and the "game" will begin.
The rules will be detailed later in roleplay. You're in charge of roleplaying your own genderbents.
Get ready, peoples. ♥))

Magic stepped off the bus, and walked away from it a little bit so that way more people could get off. He didn't really talk with anyone on the way there. He would rather avoid it anyway. Still wasn't in the mood to be around people. He hoped that coming along on this thing would help return him to normal. Yeah... Maybe..

The winter prefect looked up at the building. It wasn't really anything special aside that it looked run down, and that it had a sign in front. Beware? Risking lives? Seemed like an every day fake haunted mansion or something. Honestly he couldn't wait to get this over with but he wasn't going to go busting inside immediately. He was going to wait even if he didn't like it.

_

Destiny stepped off the bus after a couple other students. This place was creepy. Though some students would probably make the joke that she should feel at home here. Ghosts and stuff? Yeah that was up her alley. But at the moment she couldn't tell if there were actually any spirits inside.. She was going to have to wait to see if this ghost thing was real or not. Or wait to see what is truly behind all of this. Now she kind of wished that she brought Jaun along... He would have been able to assist in this..

Barry stepped off the bus with an eerie feeling. He wasn't sure what to think of the abandoned building. He stretched with a quiet groan. He wasn't used to being cramped up in a vehicle for that long. He looked around an noticed the sign that was hanging on the gate. 'Gee, that's not creepy or anything.' He thought sarcastically, rolling his eyes. The Autumn also noticed Magic, standing a short distance away from the bus. He didn't want to bother him, and frankly, he didn't want to talk to the Winter anyhow. He still had a weird feeling about him. So he waited for the rest of the group to get off the bus and get into the building. He did not want to be the first one to go in.

Despite the all-too-creepy atmosphere, with the dark skies and cheesy signs and decrepit mansion overgrown with vines, Jane couldn't help but smile as she followed the others off the bus. She twirled the flashlight in the air like a baton and caught it, flicking it on to light up the sign on the front gate. 'Those who enter here agree to risk their lives. Beware. Grrr!' "Ooh. Spooky." They said that they were doing this overnight to avoid tourists, but she knew that if she'd lived in Buttfuck Nowhere, Montana, and there was a haunted mansion, and she was a teenager with lots of friends, she sure as hell wouldn't stop here during the day. Ghosts were a lot less bothersome in broad daylight.

She supposed it would be easy to explain if any cops found them here. 'We came here on a dare, sir! We heard there were ghosts! We didn't mean to trespass!' And if any 'normal' people caught them using their powers, then that wouldn't be too hard to explain either. 'Grr, I'm a spooky demon! BOO!'

Missions. Of course she had to go on one once she got the chance, and this mission was going to be a lot bigger than most of the others. There were all these details about monsters and portals and danger, and it'd attracted her like a moth to flame. Fighting ghosts and monsters and trans-dimensional creatures? With superpowers? It was like her childhood dream come true.

Jane had a weapon, a compact bow and a quiver of arrows, but she'd left it back at the school. One, things would be a lot scarier if she didn't have a weapon on hand as reassurance, and that was the whole point. It was a slumber party in a haunted house. Two, she was useless with the thing anyways, and she was more likely to accidentally bury an arrow in somebody's back than in her actual target.

It was chilly out here. "So, who dies first?" she said in her attempt at smalltalk, fingers wrapping around one of the gate's iron bars. Everyone else off the bus was strangely quiet and distant right now. Maybe a little queasy from the ghostly atmosphere. "Taking all bets." Her eyes found the girl with white hair, the first person she met at Beata Academy. A familiar face was always nice to see, especially hers. A necromancer seemed like a perfect fit for a mission revolving around ghosts.

Something about this trip felt wrong.

From the moment she had walked onto the bus with only a flashlight and her chakrams stuffed in her bag, she knew something was wrong. Going to a mansion out in the middle of nowhere to stay overnight and investigate mishaps caused by supernatural beings wasn't something the school would normally have them do. It didn't matter who went in the group - they were up for a rather grim show to unfold in front of them. The entire trip there, she just sat around, not trying to talk to anyone or socialize, her ears plugged by music to drown out any sounds. There were a few times her eyes glanced over to check on a certain Winter and other times that they flitted towards a remainder of her past; for the most part, she stared out towards the dark, clouded skies and the mansion that they were about to reach, greenery burgeoned and wrapping around the building like a giant serpent.

Slowly, she walked down towards the entrance, standing somewhere in the middle and her flashlight stayed off. Up close, the structure was older and scrapped off more than she had thought, completely decimated with vines. They said there were ghosts, weren't there? That wasn't really... scary. Maybe. Did ghosts even exist? It wasn't like it was possible, was it? God, this whole thing was stupid. She almost wanted to turn around and get back on the bus to leave, but it turns out the driver had already left them hanging. Dammit. It was so cold, the breeze nipping at her neck, and she had stuffed her hands into her pockets, her eyes wandering around until she saw the sign. A warning?

Okay, that wasn't such a big deal. She'd gone and faced Magic at his worst, managed to kill people, and didn't exactly die on Easter day with all of those monsters around, and she was stuck with a past that she wanted to run from. This couldn't be that bad. Lamia flinched once she heard Jane speak up, looking a shade paler than normal as she glanced back towards the mansion.

This couldn't be that bad in the end...

Desperately wishing she had taken a small sip before coming here, Lamia swallowed down any fear and anxiety in her, shifting uncomfortably. Should she go first? Or should she wait for someone else to go? It wasn't like she was all that important, so that meant she could easily be replaced. And if she died, nobody would really care and they would now that it wasn't the best idea to head in there. Her lips thinned and reluctantly, her hand raised itself shakily, and sheepishly, she stammered, "I-I-I d-don't m-mind going f-first..."

~~~
When this whole mission came up, Hieta was fine with going. Ghosts? He was one himself. Supernatural occurrences that risked lives? He was already dead - what would he have to worry about? It was something he could experience and be one of those things that he would be able to deal with before he attempted to move on with his already ended-life. Besides, he might as well try and find some answers to what could be the key to leaving this world. No offense to his sister, but he really didn't want to be stuck in this condition forever.
With long strides, he sauntered down the steps and towards the entrance, standing close by the white-haired necromancer. A small smile was etched on his face and as he looked up, he couldn't help but scoff at the warning. The school was notorious for leaving them in dangerous situations, wasn't it? From the Easter event to the Frontier trip, they sure seemed to love throwing students into life-threatening situations. Hieta swept red eyes towards the group: it was much smaller than the amount of people who went to Alaska, but that would only mean worse things. They were supposed to split up, weren't they?
Some of the students didn't even have weapons. Did they think this was some sleepover party and that they were free from the school's control? There were times where he really doubted that humanity had any hope left in them, and this was one of them. People need to learn to take things more seriously. "Looks normal so far, does it not?" Just as he was about to volunteer himself, another voice had spoke up and taken that spot. What was this girl, stupid? She looked way too timid and scared to do anything and already on the verge of having a panic attack. He let out a sigh and shrugged. Her loss, not his.
She just got off the bus and she already felt sick. She wasnt scared of anything just pretty much birds those things terrifed her too the point where she was able too wet herself. So long as their wasnt any birds around she should be fine on this mission it didnt seem too difficult all they needed to do was investigate didnt they? One thing she did hate was car rides and other ways of transport. She gets car-sick in cars and sea-sick on boats. Aspen had groaned softly wobbling slightly on her feet when she first stepped back onto the ground. The blonde had glanced around the mansion, it was a bit old looking didn't look too scary their were always old buildings that looked like this one around her neighbor hood.
One thing she was happy about was that so many of her friends had decided too come along on the mission with her! Hopefully this would be more fun then scary. Clearing her throat a little the blonde had quietly sneaked behind Lamia. Once she had crept close enough Aspen had let out a horrible high pitched scream. "AAAAAHHHHHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAHHHHH" The blonde felt slightly bad after she did it since she screamed right around poor Lamias ears. "HAHAHA sorry didn't scare you did I???" Aspen had asked as she walked forwards where she was walking right side by side with Lamia she stopped when she was right i front of the entrance. Smiling at Lamia when she said something so bold, "Your so brave! Go on then!" She cheered for her friend.
Oliver had sighed, he thought this was going too be a nice peaceful mission that wasnt such a big fuss but with how everyone was acting it was annoying some of the people here got on his nerves like that obnoxius blonde girl who screamed for no reason. Honestly these people had issues, the winter had stayed a few feet away from the group and plugged his earphones in, he would rather listen to this then have to deal with other people.
As the bus came to a stop, Hosa blinked as she stop messing with her bandages. She had 'suddenly' gotten a cast over her wrist and a few minor burns on her face, but whenever anybody asked how she had gotten them, she refused to answer in a clear way. She felt defeating a dragon by yourself was kinda a big deal and really she didn't need everybody knowing about it. As people started to exit the bus, she stood up as she followed in suit, being careful not to hit her bandaged wrist on anything. As she stepped from the bus, she scanned the area and the small groups that were being made.
She only knew a handful of the people, spotting Magic surrounded by what looked to be his friends and off to another side was Destiny...Shifting from foot to foot, she tried to decide where to go as she stepped away from the door of the bus so others could exit. It looked like she would be alone this adventure with everybody else pairing into groups...She could join Magic, she supposed, but she knew little about his friends and just the idea of tagging on seemed weird.
Brant had been sitting not far from Destiny on the bus, and had even dozed off halfway to the mansion. He snored softly as his head rested on the back of the seat, only jolting awake when the bus came to an end and students started to filter past him to leave the bus. His eyes flickered around as he tried to make sense of where he was, before recalling the mission he was on. Of course, it looked like Destiny had already left the bus. Pushing himself up from the seat, he followed the students. As he hopped down from the bus (because why just step off the steps when you could hop off of it?) he glanced around to see Destiny standing off to the side, causing a smile to appear on his face as he hurried over to her. "There you are! How can I protect you if you are leaving me on the bus like that?" he teasing lightly as he reached her side.
His gaze flickered toward the house, quickly noting that it looked like a haunted house should. Even with a sign saying not to enter at your own risk...Spooky. He shifted slightly closer to Destiny as he stared at the house, feeling a bit nervous at the whole thing. He had only joined cause Destiny had - which seemed like a recurring theme for him - as he didn't want anything bad happening to her just because he didn't join. Of course if it was just ghosts, then she would be fine but...Better safe then sorry? His green eyes flickered in the fading sunlight, hoping that things would go smoothly. The sooner this was over, the better.
Leo stepped out of the bus after the others, his blue eyes wondering over the old building. It really had a spooky vibe about it. Not that he paid any mind to it. He was never scared of ghosts. Well, not to the point where he'd be freaked out the entire time. He was about to suggest they head inside, when Aspen's scream filled the air. Flinching away from the girl, Leo held a hand to the ear closest to her. His face held the look of, 'Why-would-you-do-that?'. Which was exactly what he was thinking at the moment. The prefect glanced at the other students around him. He hadn't taken a look at any of them since they had gotten on the bus, as he had fallen asleep on the way here. His eyes rested on the girl holding the bars of the gate. It looked like everyone was ready to go in. Except for Lamia, who looked like she was scared beyond belief.
---
Griffin followed after Leo, his hands fidgeted with the edge of his shirt, eyes glancing around as he stepped out of the bus. Why had he signed up for this? The prospect of adventure? Fighting evil things? Whatever it was, he wanted nothing to do with it right now. A girl's skin caused the blond to jump, eyes wide. What was her problem? God damn it. She scared him. Clenching his fist, the summer student gave the girl a glare, all the while trying to calm his rapidly beating chest.
Shattered Reflection [Genderbending Site Topic] Empty
PostSubject: Re: Shattered Reflection [Genderbending Site Topic]   Shattered Reflection [Genderbending Site Topic] EmptyMon Aug 24, 2015 7:31 pm
Fleur was equally excited and edgy as she sat listening to music, and looking out of one of windows on the bus. She liked to think that she was all about adventure, and the hint of danger was just as stimulating as it was spine-chilling. She had never come into any type of contact with ghosts, of course; but the idea amazed her. Still, it was risky. Then again, she was a huge risk-taker, so...
As the bus approached the massive mansion, Fleur couldn't help but imagine what was to happen inside. It looked something like a "fairytale-gone-wrong" of sorts.
But, she kind've liked it - and that somewhat surprised her.
The wearied building, with its winding vines and wan complexion, got her thinking... She had never been so close to something so full of wonder and possibilities since she arrived at the Academy. Maybe her powers could come in handy. But was she even capable of summoning paranormal creatures? Are they considered mythological at all? Are there such things as paranormal animals? I have never heard of such... But, anything is possible, right?
She couldn't figure out a valid answer for herself before the vehicle came to an abrupt stop, and students began filing out.
At first, she looked around a bit, to get at least a vague sense of her surroundings. Then, she realized that some of the students were huddled around something that looked like a sign. She quietly made her way over towards it, seeing that it was merely an adaptation of an overused cliché rather than anything she considered legitimate.
Dismissing the warning, she stood over by herself, not knowing where to go. She only really knew Lamia, who seemed to want absolutely nothing to do with her. She didn't want to bother the girl, or be a burden. Otherwise, she would have made a beeline towards her.
Still, it was getting a bit lonely standing alone... And quite unnerving as well. So, she considered maybe going over to make conversation with that one kid Barry... He was probably the nicest person that she had met since she arrived not too long ago. But she decided against it, as she didn't want to annoy anybody.
As she thought about maybe joining in with another group, she heard a scream. This startled her, until she realized that it was just some girl messing around.
Amidst the students, Fleur picked up on side conversations regarding who was to venture in first. Hmmm... I wouldn't mind going in first, I guess... Nothing to lose, right? And it would probably be pretty epic - or something like that. But how to do it...?
Just as Fleur was about to offer herself as tribute, she witnessed Lamia volunteering to do so.
Wait... Lamia is volunteering to be the first to walk into a huge, aged, apparent haunted mansion?!? Wow...
Welp. This should be interesting.
PostSubject: Re: Shattered Reflection [Genderbending Site Topic]   Shattered Reflection [Genderbending Site Topic] EmptyMon Aug 24, 2015 8:38 pm
The next one to get off of the bus was Richard. He didn't exactly want to go on this trip, but seeing as he was actually graduating soon, he figured one more mission couldn't hurt to try to build his confidence in his power. He felt pretty good about it already, but he didn't want to leave the academy without feeling like he'd basically mastered it. Letting out a heavy sigh as he looked up at the huge mansion, a small chill shot down his spine as an expression of concern spread across his face. He had a bad feeling about this place, and it wasn't just because of the run down look it had about it or the fact that people were saying it was haunted. There was something else, but he had no clue as to what it was. Oh well. Walking closer to the front door, Richard stopped and just stared. In some ways, he kind of wished he knew what had happened to this place. It looked like it held an old beauty somehow and that at one point, it was absolutely gorgeous. He would have loved to live in a place like this... without the ghosts.
Richard didn't exactly believe in ghosts, but when a whole town was raving about how the place was haunted, it gave him doubts. It didn't help that the school didn't let them bring weapons with them. Not that Richard really knew how to fight with anything... He'd learned how to handle a few knives, but against a ghost, what would that do? And unfortunately, as far as he knew, there was no one on this trip that he was familiar with. Not a single face. A little disgruntled, Richard simply waited for further instruction.
---------------
Next off the bus was Penny with a look of irritation on her face. She wanted to come on this little trip, but the bus ride was terrible. There were so many people that came along this time so the bus was loud and uncomfortable, and it just felt so long. Way too long. When they finally stopped, she practically jumped off of the bus after getting stuck behind a huge line of other kids that were a little too excited to see this place. When she finally got off, she stretched up tall, stretching out almost every part of her body from the cramped space of the small seats she was forced to sit in. After spending a good five minutes stretching out every muscle she could think of, she finally stopped and took a look at the mansion in front of them, almost taken aback by the sight. It looked a lot more creepy than she had imagined for some reason. Everything looked overgrown, the broken windows revealed a dusty and gross interior, and the whole building itself didn't look too stable. "Are... Are we really going in there?" she asked whoever was listening.
The ride had been so long, Heron didn't notice when they stopped, nor most of the kids leaving. He'd slept through most of the trip, knocked out cold. A scream jolted him awake, causing him to fall out of his seat, down on to the metal floor of the bus. For a moment he wasn't sure what was happening, had they gone inside already? Hand clenched tight to his flashlight, the Winter made his way to the front of the bus and peered through the door. Good, they were still outside. And not dead.
He strode out, scooping up a couple of pebbles to put in his pocket before approaching the now large group. He eyed the girl with a grin on her face,, who seemed to be the one who screamed. Lamia appeared to be a bit shocked, to say the least. He remembered that she was the only student who had celebrated his birthday, despite not knowing him or really wanting be there in particular. Still, he had appreciated it.
Not wanting to mention he'd been scared shitless for a moment, he muttered "I didn't know you were the banshee here." Would there be actual banshees in that decrepit building? If yes, would they attempt to eat them, like what he was told as a kid? Those were questions he didn't want answers to. "I'll go in next," was said half-heartedly, leaving him with regret afterwards.
Like hell Magic was going to let Lamia go first.. Also Aspen didn't need to be so loud. It hurt his ears.. He really didn't like that.. Magic started walking past other students, shoving past them if they didn't move. He didn't bother to acknowledge Aspen or Lamia as he passed them. Once he got to the door. He opened the door without a second thought, and walked inside. He didn't bother looking around once he was inside instead the winter prefect closed his eyes and listened to what ever was around him. Seeing if he could hear anything at all..
"I'm not feeling any souls on the inside.. there isn't a detection of life force yet either.. but then again I'm not close enough to detect that.. So yeah pretty normal." Destiny said to Hieta. Then she gave Brant a goofy smile. "Like you could protect me from some ghost and stuff. If anything I'm protecting you. Besides I can control ghosts and what not." Destiny said with a smirk. It soon disappeared when she saw a dark haired boy shoulding his way past people, heading directly for the doors to the inside. Destiny decided to follow suit. "Let's head inside then." She said to her small group then started heading inside.
Lamia almost jumped out of her own skin when Aspen gave an earsplitting screech right beside her. Pulling her arms closer to herself, she muttered something unintelligible underneath her breath, shaking it off. It'd be okay. It'll be okay. This won't be a really big deal in the end. And her friend was encouraging her to head in, right? Maybe it'll be fine and she could muster up anymore confidence in her to do so. Or maybe she just wanted her to die first. Death wouldn't be that bad, in the end. Hopefully, anyway. Baby steps first. Slowly, she lifted her feet and started walking until someone pushed past her. Why would anyone go in when she already volunteered herself? Nobody would be that du---
Magic? Why would he do that? He had absolutely no reason to stop her. Her fingers reached out to tap him on the shoulder, but she hesitated, her mind refusing to listen and she almost managed to, stopping herself as he walked by. As he opened the door, she glanced back at Aspen to Barry to Fleur before sprinting in after him. It wouldn't be fair if he had gone in only because she volunteered herself. Magic never tried to jump into things headfirst... for the most part. Lamia walked up the steps, shooting a fleeting glance at the old, ruined gates that were constricted with moss and cobwebs, before stopping a little ways before him.
Was he listening into something?
There didn't seem to be anything suspicious so far. Only webs stringing the broken roofs, water seeming to leak from the inside, and rust dispersing itself all over the place. Exactly like a house in a horror-mystery film. Nothing bad will happen. Nothing bad would actually happen. The school wouldn't just send them out towards a mission that could potentially bring them to their death. On second thought, they would. From having to dart and dodge monsters on Easter day to a trip into the wilderness to the students themselves being dangerous, the faculty didn't seem to care about their safety. At all.
But better she went instead of some other student being thrown into her spot.
Hieta's eyebrow taut in confusion, glancing at the necromancer from the corner of his eyes that almost seemed to glow red with the creepy atmosphere around them. Nothing she could detect? That wasn't normal. They were sent here to investigate something and the walking dowsing machine couldn't find anything around. She wasn't close enough to actually know that, sure, but there should be some hint of life out there. The school wouldn't have sent them here if they didn't have to do anything. Goddammit, would this wind up being like Japan where they were tricked? "Alright then," were the only words he could come up with as his gaze wandered to Brant. Fire-breathing boy from the Frontier trip. Destiny's boyfriend, right? Hmm, they certainly seemed to stick together all the time.
"I would assume there is nothing dangerous here, but that was what the school told us when we went to Alaska," he added on, his eyes narrowing into a lethal glare that seemed to shoot daggers. It would be very wrong to say he wasn't bitter about the entire trip. That someone wound up getting hurt because the faculty decided it would be best not to warn them about potential creatures that could slice their heads off. Sure, he was dead. But what if that was Nicola instead? Hard to forgive. "Be cautious."
Without another word, he followed Destiny, his hands in his pockets.
Hosa had kept her eyes trained on the castle, paying no mind to the sound of the other students chattering to themselves as she mindless tugged at the cast around her wist. Her first mission in...Forever. She had only gone on one prior to this, and while they had manged to claim victory, it had left her with scars. But her time as a student at Beata was coming to a close, so she had taken it upon herself to go on at least one more mission before she was to become a Guardian - even if her wounds meant she would be weaker. While the bite-caused wound on her wist had closed, moving it would easily cause the wound to open which was why she had the cast...But shapeshifting easily meant that she could pull the tissue in a way that would cause it to start bleeding and...Really, she just had to be careful, but while these thoughts bubbled in her head, she kept on the appearance of being calm and collected, not willing to show her doubt in any manner as she was the oldest and perhaps one of the most stogest students here other than for Magic. A sigh escaped her, but she grew aware of the sound of footsteps drawing away causing her to let herself come back to the present to see Magic already stepping into the mansion. Students were already following his lead, and Hosa quickly hurried after them. If something went down, she wanted to be in the front lines to protect the other students.
"Pfff" a snort escaped Brant as Destiny proclaimed that she would be the one protecting him, but a playful glint flickered in his eyes as he started to follow her, Hieta, and the other students into the mansion. "I mean...Yeah, I suppose as a necromancer you got the ghosts dead to right." He couldn't help but giggle slightly at that. "But if there is anything else...Like, spiders, then I'll take care of those." He paused when the voice of Hieta spoke up, frowning slightly at the mention of the Alaksa trip. He had always been planning to go check up on Devin, see how he was doing but he never had the time. Hopefully he was doing good...He simply nodded softly in response. "Of course."
