Things gonna happen [OPEN]

Magic was strolling in the forest, getting away from the noise that happened to be happening on the campus. Everything was too loud. Well for them anyway. Even the wildlife noises where getting kind of annoying. They wished their gift would stop amplifying sounds on it's own but it did. Mason never really noticed because it would be gradual until it got to loud.. "Ugh... Please stop..." They stated covering their ears with their hands. After a moment of covering their ears the loud sounds finally faded, and the winter student was free to return to their peaceful, quiet stroll.

A soft, gentle tune buzzed through the air as they escaped a girl's pale lips, her timid demeanor causing her to flinch at every sudden turn, disrupting the harmony that she tried to play with her voice. The dark-haired Winter had left her dorms for the first time, probably in a month - give or take -, and found the fresh air a bit refreshing. Lamia never knew why she had caged into her room, given that she had reconciled (somewhat) with her friend, but perhaps it was all the social events. Never did she want to attend one.

She didn't know why she was out in the forest right now, but there she was, roaming aimlessly through the twists and turns. A inaudbile sigh could be heard from her, scanning the thicket of trees as she allowed herself to gather her thoughts. At first, the idea of meditating for a bit sounded nice, but Lamia couldn't find herself relaxing. Especially when she heard a loud rustle from behind, and quickly turned, asking with a small fright, "Wh-whose... th-there?!"

The sound of a quiet voice startled Magic a little. The almost six foot tall person walked until they were able to see the timid girl. "It's just me, another student." They stated, shoving their hands into their pockets. "I didn't mean to startle you. Just kinda looking for some quiet time. Well away from the noisiness of the campus." Magic said, looking at the girl who seemed awfully frightened.

"O-oh... S-sorry..." was the only reply she could muster, her hands diving into the uniform pocket as though it would bring a bit of comfort to her. After all of this time at the academy, Lamia still had no idea how to interact with other students. The only thought that popped up in her head was: Great. She had to talk to another person alone in the middle of nowhere.

This girl is shy was Magic's first thought when she spoke, and apologized. "No, no you are fine.. I can leave if you want me to.." Magic said taking a hand out of their pocket and pointing behind them. "I don't want to impose on you if you were seeking alone time as well."

Lamia tried to come up with some kind of response but the words were simply caught in her throat, and barely an utterance managed to come out. He was being so nice and she didn't know how to react... Why? "O-oh... a-ah, i-it's fine..." she muttered, voice softer than the wind that blew around that it was a strain. This was awkward...

Magic could tell the girls voice was quiet but it seemed his gift had started acting up again, so he had heard her clearly. "You sure? Mason asked before asking another question, "Are you okay? You are kind of stuttering a lot, and you seemed rather scared earlier.." He asked

Oh crap. He had to point it out, right? Lamia was panicking a bit, mentally counting to ten in her head to try and calm herself down. She wasn't sure if it worked or not, so the Winter gave a small, feeble nod as this was the only response she could really come up with at the moment. Nope, she was not admitting how absolutely terrified she was.

He could still kinda tell there was something wrong with the shy girl in front of him. Magic just couldn't tell what. He was trying to think of something to help calm down the girl but he didn't know what to do. For once he was actually going to try and use his powers. Mason closed his eyes and focused on the bird songs around them. Using he ability he warped the sound of the bird calls into a peaceful song. Even though it wasn't to loud you could still hear the faint song. Though it put quite the strain on Magic, he wanted to make the girl feel at ease.

The soothing voices of the birds' chirps did their job as they were supposed to, and though Lamia had a little bit of difficulty hearing the song, it was too difficult to pass up on listening to. Soon enough, she could feel her trembling slow down a bit and her own humming joined in, and though it was pretty weak, the Winter didn't really care at the moment. "I-it sounds n-nice..."

The song soon faded and Mason opened his eyes. "Thanks. I tried to change their calls in a simple tune that anyone might have known. Though its quite hard to do, but it seems to have worked." Magic said in a soft tone, trying to keep a calm stature to not frighten the girl. "I can manipulate sound if you haven't figured it out already. Thats the first time my gift has actually cooperated in a while.. Usually it just amplifies sound for me.." He stated with a small grin on his face.

A minute, nervous laugh was the only thing to escape her, as she personally had no clue how to respond. Was she supposed to think this was cool or ask questions about it? Lamia hadn't even thought about sound manipulation being the gift - she thought it was some kind of song mimicry. Worst off, he was treating her like ice that could be destroyed within seconds without warning. The best she could do was give him a small smile, though the Winter never looked into his eyes, rather focusing her own on his shoes or the flowers or anything but him.

"I can do it again if you would like?" Magic said. He didn't mean to treat her like an easily breakable object he was trying to be nice, and unfortunately due to his past , meant some people got treated like fragile objects. "My name is Magic, well it's not but I preferred to be called that." Mason said in a close to normal voice.

Lamia feverishly shook her head, and realized how she had been just a nuisance all this time. "I... I d-don't want to i-impose..." she muttered softly, knowing full well that controlling a gift could be disastrous, and if he passed out or anything out in the woods, she would have no way to help him out. That situation was not very pleasant. When Magic's voice shifted, her blue eyes glanced at him curiously for a few moments before looking away. "N-nice to meet you... I-I'm Lamia."

Magic gave off a small smile. "You aren't imposing.. It would be me that's imposing because I kinda stumbled upon you. And It's nice to meet you too. He said. Lamia that was nice name. It fit her nice in Magic's opinion. Though it is kind of hard to make conversation with a shy girl, he tried anyway.
