Passing the Time [Open]

Leaning against a rather tall tree in the middle of the courtyard, Preston went between staring down at his hand and at the pretty scenery around. The leaves were staring to turn to sweet colors of orange, red, and yellow; the bees were gathering the last of the pollen from the flowers, the sun still was making it as hot as hell... And in his palm were small, ongoing currents of electicity. They'd form into a sphere shape, break apart and lick up his arm, and disappear before resurging and starting up again.
Preston huffed. He was so weak, he thought, sand how annoying it was. The young man glanced around, looking to see if there was anything else to entertain him instead. Or anyone.

The sound of approaching footsteps could be heard as Luce casually walked through the Courtyard, being only a few meters in front of Preston at one point. Luce carried his longsword inside of a leather sheath on his back, the hilt of the weapon sticking out of it. It was not obvious whether or not Luce had seen Preston, or if he was simply choosing not to acknowledge his presence. Either way, he certainly wouldn't be prepared if something were to come his way.

Perhaps it was impatient or pure stubborness that forced him to turn his attention back to his gift so soon. It just wasn't right. He'd spent his entire life lazily focusing on his power, and out of nowhere some short-sized little a-cup was showing him up in his own area of expertise with a neat little trick that he didn't even know was possible! Yeah, that had to be it. Preston refused to let that girl have all the flashy fun.
The brunette started focusing on the palm of his hand again, a large bundle of bright, white electricity forming before - once again - he lost control of it. The sparks flew out of his hand, turning into wild streaks that lapped at his body and everything in a certain radius around him. "Fuck!" He growled in frustration, letting out a sigh and rolling his eyes. Whatever. Who needed that stupid trick anyways.
That's what he'd tell himself before the cycle repeated itself once again, anyways. At least no one else was around to get hurt, right...? Or so he thought.

...Except he thought wrong. Sort of. Luce let out a shout of pain as some of the electricity quickly and painfully made its way through his body. He collapsed on the ground, although he'd get to his feet after a moment. Luce looked around a moment in an attempt to find what caused him to become a lightning rod, seeing Preston. "What the hell was that for?" he asked in a half-shout. As a result of electrocution, there was a burn along the arm that was closer to Preston when Luce was shocked. However, the aforementioned burn was slowly healing, some of the skin returning to normal.

Aw, shit. Preston turned around to see an unfamiliar blonde guy on the ground, clutching his arm. There was no mistaking the zig-zagged burns that ran up and down his arms. "I- erm..." He was terrible in these type of situations, not that the happened all that often. He avoided the guy's sharp look, throwing his gaze away otherwise and stuffing his hands into his pockets. "Well, what were you standing in the way for?" He muttered back. Guys' own fault for getting in the way, he told himself. Still, common fucking decency made him glance back after a minute. "You should... get that checked out though..."

Luce crossed his arms in slight annoyance. "I'll be fine. I've been hurt a lot worse and walked... Or hobbled away." he said, remembering a time where a leg had been wounded somewhat badly. However, that healed without help from anyone else, and the burns would do the same thing. "Can you do anything else besides zapping people? Luce asked in a half angered, half joking tone.

Preston said nothing, simply raising an eyebrow at the strange response. Hobbled away? The fuck? After a few moments, he dropped the thought. It wasn't a big deal and he'd certainly heard weirder shit around the school. "Eh?" The Autumn was mildly surprised he was asking. "Why? Not good enough for you?" Pres asked back in the same pissy, teasing tone - a challenging glint in his eyes. Zap was such a weak word he thought, sharp streaks of lightning igniting up in the palm of his hand, running up the length of his arm.
The excitement was short-lived when he realized he didn't care enough to pick a fight with a scrawny, little guy. "What did you mean you've had worse?" He asked, huffing and shoving his hands in his pockets.

Luce couldn't help but give a show-offy smirk as he answered. "I broke one of my legs before and had to hobble around for two weeks before it healed. Probably wasn't smart to be jumping off the tops of trees and stuff." he said, seeming sort of proud that he broke a leg, which healed much faster than the injury should have. Luce looked at Preston, pretty damn sure the point that he'd be perfectly fine without any medical attention was made if it wasn't already.

Zach found himself walking near a conversation about serious injuries.
Because he was that kind of person, he stuck around near a nearby withering flower bed where he felt he fit in and listened.
While he did so, he took out one of his fine knives and began trimming his fingernails.
If and when I go over there, it's not going to end well, He told himself, knowing full well what kind of person he was.
He decided to shout over to them anyway."YO!"
Zach had an open wound on the back of his leg, and made it a point of his to get some blood equally on the mulch and sidewalk.
Both sets of spills dodged behind nearby cover, so as to not be seen when they looked.
Why do you do this to yourself, Zach? He pondered while he waited for a response.

Preston gave the guy a disbelieving look. Two weeks for a broken leg? Seemed more like this guy was pulling bullshit out of his ass to try to make a cool story more than anything. He fractured his leg once cliff diving, like the amazing genius that he was, and that had taken an entire month to heal.
Maybe this guy just landed on his arm and bruised it up some, then they gave him a cast and a happy face sticker to make himself feel better. That made much more sense in his own mind. The smiley sticker, the real sign of true, reckless battle scars. "Sounds more like you're throwing me nonsense." The Autumn answered back blandly, pausing and turning around when he heard a new voice call out.
He thought he saw a slight stream of red on the guy's leg, but it was hard to tell from where he was standing, and Pres wondered if he was just seeing things. "Hey..." He called back, saying nothing for a few dragging moments. "Do you always stand behind people in flower beds?" He was pretty much certain that the landscaper or whatever would have a few choice words later.

"Only when I'm not getting into fights. Or when I'm not standing in front of people in flowerbeds. Or when I'm not about to do something stupid violent. So, generally never, no."
Zach stopped bleeding, which was a completely unrelated relief to the relief he felt when his gross reddish spy ended up behind the two. Specifically, eating away at the bark of the nearby tree.
Here we go again. This is not gonna end good for anybody. Let's get it over with.
Zach stumbled over to the two in conversation.
"Γεια σας! I'm Zachary."
