The new student

She stared up at the entrance of her "new school". It was pretty big, and looked fancy, but what mattered most was if she could strengthen her powers here. If this place couldn't make her stronger, then she didn't know of anywhere else. Her cold gaze swept through the surrounding area, and then she smiled. She had to brighten up or else people would think she was just going to rip out their throats at a moments notice. Looking at one of the kids there, the hair on the back of her neck stood. Her instincts felt something off about him, but she didn't know quite what it was.

The dark-haired boy sat by the fountain just past the entrance gates. He had black glasses, a grey-black over-coat, a white shirt, and some casual light-tan khakis. His eyes were a cold yet gentle grey, and his hair was a dark, nearly-black grey that dropped just above his shoulders. He was casually flipping through a book, studying for an upcoming test in one of his classes. However, at the sound of footsteps, he looked up in faint surprise at the girl who had come in. Another student? Well, it was normal for there to be new students coming in every now and then, but this was the first time one had walked in those front gates when he was around. The fresh curiosity on her face as she looked around kinda reminded him of when he first came to Beata.

Closing the book, the boy stood up and quietly removed his glasses, promptly clipping them to his coat collar. He slowly waved to the girl, a small, friendly smile on his face. "Hey there! You new?" He called out, figuring she might need some help if she was in fact a new student.

As he spoke, she relaxed a bit. He wasn't a threat, and even if he was, there wouldn't be much he could do. She could put up a fight if needed. Oh, she was being cold again, and thinking of all the bad things that could happen. She silently scolded herself and then smiled up at the boy. "Yeah im new." she then walked over to the fountain. "My names Rosie" she introduced herself. She wondered what he thought of the new girl in the black skinny jeans, white v neck and different colored striped gloves. They were open fingered gloves that went all the half way up her forearm. Her dark red half over coat with long sleeves with wavy endings. Her outfit was kinda usual, but she liked it.

"Ken. A pleasure to meet you, ma'am." The boy replied as he extended a hand for a handshake. "Welcome to Beata!" He usually wasn't too formal with people, but since she was new, the Autumn figured he'd be extra polite for the moment. Didn't want to send the newbie away thinking he was a jerk. That would be a pretty bad first impression.

Ooc: Short post because there's only so much you can do while waiting for someone to shake your hand.

Hesitating a second before extending her hand out, she shook with a firm grip. She hadn't expected a handshake. That was usually for more formal meetings, but she did it anyway. Letting her hand fall to her side, she smiled. "Thanks. So.... whats it like here?" she questioned, wanting to continue the conversation and not let it die out so fast and then get awkward.

OOC: Tim is taking a visit, thats why I took so long (its annoying having someone over your shoulder stalking your every move when you are typing e.e )

Ooc: xD I actually like when people read what I type when roleplaying. Then I get to ramble to them about how much fun it is on whatever site I'm on and what the point is and the story knowing they don't really care.

Ic: Ken shrugged in response. "Well, it's definitely different from normal schools. We learn stuff and there's a bunch of things you can do here, but mainly you come here to focus on and strengthen your gift." He explained. He stole a glance down at Rosie's bags and looked back up at her with a questioningly look. "Do you know where the Initiate dorms are? You'll be staying there until you take the initiation test and get assigned into an actual dorm." He said, as if silently pointing out that she probably wanted to put her stuff up before she stopped to chit-chat with people. For a minute, he wondered if he was being too helpful, in other words telling her things she might already know.

"I was actually going to just guess where they were, but if you'll show me, that'll be great!" she laughed, not really caring if people thought she was stupid. Yeah, she didn't know where her specific dorm was, but at least now she had someone to show her. "These bags are getting annoying to carry. I can carry them just fine, just annoying to hold all the time"

Ic: "I'll be glad to help." He answered with a friendly expression. At the mention of her bags, he nodded in agreement. "Yeah, I hated dragging mine around when I first got here. Luckily, the majority of my stuff was in a suitcase that had wheels." He said with a chuckle. He wasn't sure if he should offer to help with the bags or not, since he was fine with helping out but didn't want to make it seem like he was fine with slaving for the girl. Heck, he hoped Rosie didn't think he was doing this to flirt. He wasn't single as of not long ago. With a little wave of a hand, Ken signaled for the new student to follow him as he began to start off in the direction of the Initiate dorms. Carry your own bags, bish

"Im glad mine does" she muttered before taking a bag off her shoulder and putting on the top of her suitcase and strapped it to the bars. Shifting another bag on her shoulder, she started after Ken. "So what is your favorite place here? Anywhere that would be nice to train?"

Ken thought a moment. His favorite place? Well, one place that immediately came to mind was the lake. Yeah, that was his answer. "The lake." He replied. "It's nice and quiet, with a wonderful view. I figure some students like to train there, but I mainly like it for another reason." He blushed faintly as a certain memory with a certain someone came to mind. He wouldn't ever forget that night for several reasons, despite it having its ups and downs like any other day. It was definitely not normal though.

There was a lake? If there was a lake, maybe there was a forest that the students could venture into also! "Oh that sounds nice! Is there a forest that the students are allowed to be in? Like it isn't off limits?" At the thought of that, it reminded her of something. "Here! Hold this real quick" she said while shoving one of her bags into his chest. Without even checking to see if he had a grasp on it, she started shifting through her other bag on her shoulder. After a few seconds of shuffling, she pulled out a box and re-zipped her bag.

Ken's eyes widened as her bag was shoved into his arms, but he held onto it anyways. She seemed excited about a forest, and he figured she'd be happy to know that there was in fact a forest here. "Yeah, there's a big forest here where students are allowed to go practice their gifts and such." He replied, unable to keep himself from eyeing the box with curiosity.

"Thats good...." she muttered, trailing off before reaching and taking the bag back from Ken. "So are we close?"

OOC: *flarps* so tired.

Ken was admittedly curious about the box, but shrugged it off as something she wanted out for when they got to the dorm. It was none of his business. He nodded at her question, pointing at a small cluster of buildings just a short distance from them. "It's behind those two buildings on the left from our angle." He explained. "Those two as well as the two next to them are the Winter, Spring, Summer, and Autumn dorms. The Initiate dorms are in a much smaller, grey building behind them."
It didn't take them long to get close to the four dormitory-buildings, and Ken led the way around the one with a green, floral symbol above the entrance to it, and some words under that symbol: "Spring". Directly beside it was the apparent Winter dorms and across from those two were Summer and Autumn. The Initiate dorms were in a much smaller building, perhaps half the others' sizes, and was grey with the words "Initiate Dormitories" on it (Or something like that).

The dark-haired boy whom had acted as Rosie's guide paused at the entrance to the building. "Here we are. You can go inside and pick a girl's room with a vacant bed. Shouldn't be too hard." He said, crossing his arms with a small, slightly proud smile that he had helped a new student out a little. Ken looked at the girl beside him and nodded. "If you need anything else, let me know. It was nice to meet you." He said with a kind grin. She was pretty calm and nice. Maybe they could be friends, since he honestly didn't have many.
