The Lost Get Found

It had been a long day. Arriving at this strange school to train this dangerous power of his was something that he had not expected to happen, but it had. And there he was. He wanted to avoid all people, get through all his time there without bumping into anyone. Be the one person without friends. It wouldn't be that hard. He had already done that most of his life.

Pulling a book off of a shelf, Kale went to take a seat at one of the tables nearby. He would read most of his time at the school. Go to classes, learn, read, sleep, and eat. No socializing. It would only end in pain, like it always did. And it was always his fault. So ignoring people was the best answer. Plus, he liked the silence.

Sitting down, Kale pushed his sunglasses up his nose a little more and opened the book, leaning back and propping it open on the table. He began to read. Knowing no one would interrupt him. Or would they?

James walked into the library knowing this is where he ended up when he first started going to Beata. He went up to the librarian and turned in a couple text books that he finished reading a while back but never gotten the chance to return them. He put his hands in his pockets and looked through the crowd of people for people he usually hung out with when he caught something out of the corner of his eye. A new student he has not met yet.

This was probably the first time he seen another student who was new to this school be in the library. Sure the student has been other places but it was kind of strange that James found the student where he met his first acquaintance. James walked over to the kid and pulled a chair up with the back facing the table. "Hey new guy. I'm James, who are you?" James knew he was being very upfront about this and it didn't matter.

Kale hated it when people just decided to be nice. It was torture. He would have liked being nice and getting to know someone, especially the guy who had just walked up to him and sat relaxed in the chair next to him. It would be nice to get to know James. However, he knew that in time, James would probably ditch him for another, and he would be alone again, hurt.

"Kale. What do you want?" He could be very upfront about things as well as James. He was good at it. Not that he really liked it. It just kept people at arms length, or further.

James shrugged with a smirk on his face "Nothing much. Just meeting new people." He looked at the book Kale was reading "Hey by the way what are you reading?" He knew it was a lame question but what else was James going to do to get to know this kid. He was extremely shy from what James could tell.

Kale sneered before looking back down at his book and getting ready to continued reading when James asked another question. Sighing he turned the cover of his book toward James to show him the cover of Finnikin of the Rock. "That is what I am reading."

He had no idea what James' mind was thinking that made him think Kale was shy. Yeah, he couldn't hear thoughts, but for a moment, he had to consider if he really was considered shy. He hated talking to people, in a way, that was shy. But any normal shy person wouldn't snap at someone who was being nice. He was shy in the sense that he didn't like to make friends. But he still spoke to people, no matter how much he hated it.
