Just arrived and already found his way to the cafeteria. That's Lenox for you. The smell of food attracted him like a magnet. He had just had a sandwich before arriving at the academy, but there was always room for more in his stomach. It's as if there was a black hole inside of him, which allowed any number of food to pass through without any side-effects. (Besides the hours spent in the bathroom afterwards, but lets keep that between us.) He scanned the cafeteria and frowned deeply when he noticed how packed it was. Where did all these people come from? You couldn't seriously except him to believe they all had these crazy abilities too, right? Some of them were just little kids! Ugh. He would loathe the time he spent here. He could feel it. Lenox wasn't a people person. He was a loner and was perfectly happy to spend all the time he had with himself. No friends, no drama. Being forced to attend classes against his will in the presence of perfect strangers, was probably the cleverest trick his parents had found to keep their only son away from home. He couldn't wait to get kicked out of here. But he'd have to be tactful about it. Nothing too obvious. People could sense those things. If he made it too clear he wanted to leave, they would never let him go.

After much pondering, Lenox finally grabbed himself a plate of whatever was being served as food - he hadn't really looked - and walked towards the table that seemed the emptiest. Day 1. Bring it on.

Why Renard was in the cafeteria, he did not know. He preferred to be anywhere else to eat, considering the food was average at best and it was crazy-crowded usually, going against how he liked to be: alone... or, you know, with Emily. But hey, Emily was here with him, so that was a good thing, food regardless. Grabbing the aforementioned food to eat, he shuffled past groups of people in order to find a table. Darn, every table seems full of people. Where would they sit... well, there was a pretty empty table near them, but there was one other person there... hopefully they wouldn't mind. Moving a bit closer to Emily so she'd keep following him, he moved over to the one person sitting at the table. "Uh, hey, do you mind if we sit here with you?"

Emily stayed close to Renard's side, her hand wrapped around the lone cup in her hand; she had dumped the nasty school food in the nearest trashcan she found. She usually bypassed lunch at the cafeteria on most days, but for some reason, she was there today. The only plus side to this was that she was with Renard, and that also was the only reason why she hadn't ran out yet. Since neither of them knew many people, and because Renard was shy, there were not that many tables that held people they knew. The one table Renard led her to had someone at it.

"Yes." He replied, without doing as much as lifting his head, fully aware that this was not the most polite thing to do. Seriously, though... Hadn't his grumpy face been enough of a warning? Did he have to spell it out too? Lenox didn't like company. But he was also conscious of the fact that socializing was going to be needed to some extent, if he ever wanted to figure out what this school's motives were. "But what the hell. Take a seat."

A frown crossed Renard's face at the boy's abrasive words, though he tried not to let it bother him as he sat at the table, placing his food down and keeping his eyes away from him at first. Though now he was conflicted... a private conversation with Emily would be impossible at this point, and probably rude with another person there. He didn't seem to have any interest in them being there, though... Maybe they could just eat as fast as possible and get the hell out. The silence was suffocating, though maybe the awkwardness was worse.

OOC: I hope you're not as rude as your character, Lenox. :l

Emily glanced slightly over at the boy as she took a seat beside Renard, a confusing look showing on her face. It had been a while since she had heard that tone of voice; the last time someone has spoken like that to her was when she had still lived with her father. After a moment, Emily finally dragged her attention from the rude boy at the table and looked up at Renard. She opened her mouth, as if to say something, but then closed it again. There was nothing she could say to diffuse the tension at the table; at least, not talking to Renard. Instead, she decided to direct a question to the other boy. "What's your name?" Emily asked the boy, hoping that her voice stayed strong despite the tension her body showed.

OOC: Of course not. What's the fun in playing a character that's totally alike you ? °^°

Apparently, whether he wanted it or not, a conversation had started. The girl who just sat down had directed a question to him. Lenox lifted his head from his plate, still chewing on the weirdly textured piece of meat that was supposed to represent a steak, and glanced over at her. "Why are you asking?"

OOC: Touché

A small smirk formed on Emily's lips, but she kept her tone neutral. "Because I'm curious." Emily answered, studying the boys features. "Why don't you humor me with an answer?" Okay, maybe that comment was taking it a tad too far, but for some reason, the boy just got on Emily's nerves. She bit the inside of her lip to keep herself from speaking again until he answered her question.

Lenox grinned and put down his fork. At least she wasn't the type to let someone walk all over her. He liked that. People with attitude. With convictions. Kind of. "Lenox." He answered.

OOC: I'm so sorry it took so long to reply, Lenox. I sort of forgot about this site.

Emily nodded slightly, glancing down at the liquid in her cup. It was the only thing she could do other than look at the boy; Lenox. The name seemed foreign to her. it was certainly a rare name. "Nice name." she finally murmured, glancing back up at him.

Marie walked into the cafeteria, unsure of where to sit. She had constantly been shut down for the past several days. In all honesty, she just wanted to go back home to Maine.

It was strange that everyone seemed to repel away from her, and Marie instantly blamed it on her gift. She naturally drove people away, after all, who wants to be around someone who makes them feel terrible all of the time? With a sigh, she threw her tray down on the edge of a table, at least two seats down from the people talking.

It thoroughly sucked being the new girl.
