This Expires After One Day [CLOSED]

Minami couldn't stop her legs and hands from shaking the moment she left her father's new apartment. Although he had moved to this small town with her just earlier that day, some of their luggage hadn't arrived with them after their flight. After a quick call from the airport, Tohru was forced to leave his daughter and go gather the rest of their luggage. To keep the girl entertained for the next few hours while he drove and before she would begin her first day at the town's school, he left behind a few ten dollar bills. With her father's key, the bills, and her trusty tablet, she set out towards the town center.

It was much smaller than she was use to. Although Kyoto was a large place, and her memory was no longer what it use to be, there was a sense of comfort in the bustling city. Here, she was a complete stranger. And there was no doubt in her mind that every day was going to be as frightening as the first.

Glancing around at the shops, she was pleased to see a cute bakery. She needed some comfort food, and the site of cakes and pastries sitting in the window display only increased her need for something sweet.

With a few, quick strides she entered the shop. Ignoring the mandatory "Welcome!" from the employees, she headed over to one of the various trays and started to inspect what looked like chocolate drizzled pastries. Smiling a little to herself, she squatted down, held her skirt with one hand and brought the other up to her chin in contemplation.

He came too early. He didn't know why he showed up to Rosebury early but he did. The school wasn't expecting him til tomorrow so he doubted they would be pleased if he showed up early. He had already said goodbye to his family at the airport before he got on the plane to come here so it wasn't like he was hanging around with family for an extra day or something..

Landon sat at a table in the bakery enjoying a small treat he managed to get himself with the money he had at the moment. He would be getting more from his mother at somepoint in the future until he could get himself a job somewhere around here, though it would be hard since the population seemed rather small so there probably wan't much of a demand for workers.

The red head let out a small sigh, but a smile replaced his frown shortly after. He was in a new place now, with new people like him, but different. He had a chance to learn about his gift and control it instead of risking mental damage and possibly ending up in a coma again. He perked up from his pastry when a girl who seemed to be high school aged like him walk in. Weren't classes going on at the school right now? Or was she new like him? Perhaps she wasn't gifted at all.

He wanted to talk to her, but he didn't know exactly what to say. He wasn't the most social person in the world. Maybe he would have a chance after she got something.

The girl stood up with a nod and turned around towards the front counter. Just as she did, she caught eyes with a young, redheaded boy. He was looking at her intently with a half eaten pastry in his hand and its crumbs hanging loosely not the edge of his mouth. She quickly looked away to the till. She could feel the pit of anxiety growing in her stomach. Why was he looking at her like he had something to say? Risking a quick glance over her shoulder, she was less than pleased to see his golden eyes had followed her.

Swallowing a lump, the girl quickly ordered her treat and paid the lady at the counter. Her foot tapped quickly as she waited for her chocolate croissant, paranoia creeping her way into the back of her mind. There were an endless number of possibilities that could explain his behaviour. Curiosity about her ethnicity, familiar appearances with a friend, or even juse staring into space. These were all sweet and innocent, and she would never put it passed the boy if any one of these were true. Yet, like always, her mind drifted to the worst.

Stalker. Pervert. Killer. Rapist. Minami began to visibly shake as she grabbed the small paper bag from the lady. Had she taken her medication this morning?

As she passed by him on her way towards the door, a more interesting thought appeared in her head. Did he know her...? Was this really her first day in Rosebury?

At this point he had returned to nibbling on his pastry when she turned to look at him once again. With a quiet clearing of her throat, she spoke with a nervousness as clear as day. "I-Is there something you need?"

Landon blinked then he realized what he was doing. "Oh sorry!" He said nervously. "I just was thinking that you were new here.. or rather its the middle of the school day and your here so I figured you were a newer student like I was." He said. He shouldn't have stared. That was rather rude of him. He should have thought it out first. Well at least he managed to speak to her now.
