Barry was still haunted every night by what he had to go through at the abandoned mansion, even almost 3 weeks later. First, he witnessed Magic murder, if murder was the right word, his double. Then, he had to kill his own double. He told Magic that he'd have to use sound to do it, since neither of them could catch her to steal her bracelet. They eventually found Barry's double, Brenna, and cornered her. Barry yelled at Magic to do it, and immediately both Barry and Brenna had clenched their ears and fell to the ground. Soon, it became too much for either of them to handle. Barry began to yell at Magic to stop, tears streaming down his face, but he knew that Sound Man wouldn't, because he told him not to before they started this. Thankfully for the two boys, females are more sensitive to high-pitched noises, and she succumbed to the noise before Barry did, and she shattered into millions of greenish glass shards just as Macy had. Even after Magic had stopped projecting sound, Barry still lied in a curled up position, hands still clutching his ears with tears still running down his face.
Barry shook his head weakly and snapped back to reality. He looked down at his hands, and saw his extremely bony hands shaking. He put his face in his hands and took a shaky breath. He hadn't eaten much in the past couple weeks and even though he had found a way to slow his metabolism, it was still significantly higher than normal, and he became unnaturally thin. His eyes became sunken and his was the embodiment of the word gaunt. He didn't know what to do with his life anymore. He couldn't stop thinking about what happened that night.
