Nothing ventured, Nothing Gained. {Closed for splotch and Coon~]

The library was a great resource for cool facts about the school. About a few days ago she had read something about a hidden cavern, although no one seemed to know anything about it but that didn't matter - mother always said that nothing ventured is nothing gained. Aspen carried a small green backpack, stuffed with various food and weapons, she'd heard it be dangerous your gift is pretty much useless in the caverns. Maybe it wasn't smart of Aspen going into the caverns alone.. but she didn't exactly know anybody and the people she did meet didn't seem like the very adventurous type, so it was just her.

The day was barely beginning, The sun had just begun to rise. Colors, bright and warm, stained the brightening sky and chased away the smattering of stars from the night before. Though one trick about the caverns was that.. It was hidden very well, clearly somebody didn't want anybody too find the caverns but Aspen was determined, she knew she would be able to find them even if it took her the entire week. Reopening the map of the school Aspen had heard that the caverns would be around at the edge of the forest.

Her grip tightened on the handles of her worn out green backpack, a determined smile planted onto the face of Aspens as her purple eyes also beamed with a determined expression. With a quick nod, she began to begin her adventure of the caverns, not knowing what may lie in her path.

Destiny was already out in the forest for some early training. She was trying to get better with her life draining ever since she lost in the first round. She was beyond angry that she had lost in the first round. She was planning to go far in the tournament, but since the judges decided she was going to be crushed first before she would have drained his life-force, she got the boot. But with that battle came the ability to drain life-force from a bit of a distance. When she focused enough she could see the life-force of any living thing and how long they had left to live. She was training to get the distance she could drain life force longer but also trying to get her ability stronger.

Destiny had finished another round of training when she noticed the girl walking into the forest with a bag on her bag. The white-haired girl blinked before shouting to get the girl's attention. "Hey! Where are you going?" Destiny asked through heavy breath. The necromancer was very worn out, but she wouldn't mind an adventure. It would get her mind off losing the battle.

Aspen wasn't the only student out in the forest. A light blond haired student was also there, having taken an interest in plants and the forest. Well, he had always had an interest in plants, his father had taught him to identify most of the dangerous and poisonous ones. Now that Griffin had come to Beata, there were a new biome full of plants he had to learn about. It was even better that there was a conservatory for him to investigate. However he waned to learn about the native plants before moving on to exotic ones that could be found in the conservatory. The Summer student sat, examining a flower that hid within the shade of a large root belonging to a pine tree. It was a Nigella flower, he recognized its unique center and vibrant blue color.

The sound of voices alerted Griffin to other people's presence. Adjusting his straps on his messenger bag, he carefully made his way to the sources of the voices, leaving his previous entertainment behind. Griffin knew he was on the edge of the forest, what were others doing there? Careful, he poked his head around a tree to see the happenings between to two girls. Both whom he assumed were the sources of the voices.

A troubled look appeared onto Aspen, it was gonna be difficult to go on an adventure if she couldn't even find the caverns. Scratching her blonde hair she glanced from left to right. Unsure which way to go next, the map wasn't helping either. Letting out a loud frustrated sigh, the blonde blinked when she heard another voice coming from behind her. Looking behind her shoulder she saw a girl with white hair and bright red eyes. She smiled gently towards Destiny's question slightly chuckling. "Well you see..." Aspen had explained, with a nervous chuckle. "I'm looking for the caverns do you happen to know where they are" It was a silly question, nobody could find them after all but Aspen needed all the help she could get. hmm? Aspen could feel like somebody else was around, her gaze narrowed as she spotted similar blonde hair. "Hey you can come out you know?" Aspen called out in a friendly tone a grin on her face.

A bit of pink lit the boy’s cheeks. He’d been spotted listening onto their conversation, how rude of him. Fortunately one of the girls seemed nice and unbothered by the fact that he was there. Caverns? That hole in the ground not too far from here? Yeah he knew about it, but didn’t think it was that important. Apparently exploring the forest actually pays off, not just finding new plants, but also finding a cave that random students were looking for. Though, it was near the lake, and had found it when inspecting plants that grow near bodies of water. ”I know where that is, but what is in there? I never thought it was anything important.” Griffin wondered, is question directed toward the friendly girl.

The caverns? That was something Destiny never heard of or tried looking for. Destiny grabbed her scythe from the near by tree that it was resting on, and walked closer to the the girl. Her scythe rested on her should with the tip of the blade point towards the ground. Hopefully she didn't scare anyone with her weapon. "That honestly sounds like fun. Can I come too?" Destiny asked in a friendly manner.

A curious look was painted onto Aspens face, a small smile forming. If he knew where the caverns was then she wouldn't be wandering around stupidly, she would like his help. "Well I don't know either." Aspen had shrugged with a simple chuckle her eyes determined for adventure. "But my mother had always said, nothing ventured nothing gained." The blonde said her determination growing as she looked back towards the blonde haired boy. "Can you please tell m- " Aspens gaze drifted back over towards Destiny it was clear that she seemed also interested in an adventure but what was strange was that she carried her giant weapon around. It was a bit intimidating, she gave Destiny a nod her smile growing. Well at least she wouldnt be going alone anymore. "Sure thing! An adventures always more fun with a group~" Aspen said with a melodic sort of tone before gazing back towards Griffin "Can you please show us the way? It'd be nice of you." The intiate said her purple eyes pleading him. "By the way my name is Aspen"

Although his question went partially ignored, he nodded in agreement to lead the way. His light blue eyes glanced around in order to get his bearings, however he noticed that they weren’t too far from the lake. Which meant a rather short walk. Glancing to see if the two were following, he began making his way toward the lake. Then from there he would remember where he saw the entrance. Griffin hadn’t actually gone in there before, it seemed to him that it may be too dangerous, or that he was the first one to discover it. Whatever the situation, the student hadn’t said anything about it to anyone so far, and had almost forgotten about it before.

After a good few minutes walking, they made it to the lake. If one looked over into the lake, they could see tiny minnows swim along the edge in large groups. Not too far in, a small nest with a mother fish protecting her eggs from the minnows. Griffin couldn’t help but pity the mother fish, and her battle against the predators. He turned back to the two girls, waiting to make sure they caught up with him.

Destiny looked a bit puzzled for a moment when she saw Griffin. She hadn't met him before. She never met either of the two students before. She gave off a small shrug, and started following after the tall boy. He scythe kind of swaying as she walked behind him.

After they had finished walking they were at the lake in just a short time. Destiny never bothered to go looking for the lake nor did she ever visit it. She only been in the forest a couple times to train. She easily stayed with Griffin and their walk to the lake. Destiny walked closer to the lake studying it for a moment. It was a nice little lake. She looked back behind her to see if Aspen followed as well. She was the one leading this after all.

As Griffin and Destiny began walking off, Aspen had stayed back a way. She was observing the forest, it was so beautiful. Each branch sprouted with green life and animals had pranced around. Not too mention the soft breeze which was quite joyful. Although they were starting too leave without her - causing the blonde to quicken her pace to catch up with the two. She slightly was intimidated of the giant weapon Destiny had carried around her shoulder, she felt like it was a bit uneasy too trust a person carrying such a weapon around but oh well.

As the reached the lake, her purple eyes sparkled as she glanced at the beautiful lake. It was soo pretty! The water even looked like it sparkled but it was pretty crystal clear. She would go swimming if she could but she was already going too the caverns can't do two cool things at once. Her hands were stuffed into her pockets as she walked next too Destiny's side, her eyes darted towards the weapon on her shoulder. "Isn't that heavy?" She asked in a normal tone with a hint of wonder.

Then it hit her, she never got there names. "So what exactly are your names..?" She directed the question towards both of the students, finding it a bit awkward that they knew her name but she didn't know theres.

Destiny blinked for a moment then she realized Aspen was talking about her weapon. "No not at all. In fact I can swing it around really easily." She said shifting her scythe on her shoulder a little. In fact she never really considered how heavy her weapon was. It may have been heavy to others but it was the perfect fit for her. Destiny was lost in thought and didn't realize that she almost missed what else Aspen had said. "Oh, Destiny is my name, and Necromancy is my game." Destiny said with a smile on her face.

The blond student stayed quiet as Aspen caught up with both he and Destiny. He then turned to look at the other girl's scythe. That did look pretty heavy, but it didn't bother Griffin at all that she carried it around. It looked like she knew how to use it, and he wasn't afraid to get caught in a swing if something happened. When Destiny spoke about her power, his eyes traveled from the scythe, to her, and back to the scythe. It did fit her well, no wonder she was good at using it. After his pondering were over, Griffin just smiled politely, "My name is Griffin. It's nice to meet you." He desperately hoped that they hadn't noticed the absence of his power in his words. However he wasn't too worried because Aspen had only asked for their names.
