Where did you even get that? [Open]

A very small girl laid upside down on a couch, feet hooked over the top cushions. Even though she was relatively new, Amelia had already gotten her things set in her current dorm. Now, bored and having very little to do on this early Saturday morning, the Initiate had decided on working on her gift as casually as possible.

A tiny quail chick was nestled just below her blonde hairline. It didn't give off any warmth whatsoever, though. It was dead as could be. Still, it nuzzled the young girls forehead affectionately. You see, this was her power. To bring animals to 'life.'

Sadly, this poor chick had died early in life, but was allowed to 'live' when Amelia here found it while on a walk and had it stuffed by a taxidermist. Being filled with fake insides wasn't so bad, as long as you didn't dwell on the fact you shouldn't be thinking anyway. Back then, the blonde was afraid that her little chick; that she named Brynn, would have to feel the pain of dying again if her power failed her. It had spurred a fake need for high-energy foods, which was stupid. Utterly stupid. It does not take that much energy to run a bird half the size of your thumb.

Having to get a call from her parent's Alison had been searching every where around the school looking for her younger sister Amelia Has arrived. Of corse she knew that her sister had powers, she was just surprised that her parents sent her away. Frantically searching everywhere Alison realized she hadn't checked the lounge, considering that Amelia liked sitting around all day long.

Rushing off towards the lounge Alison whipped the door open a bit surprised that she didn't actually kick it down. Her gaze flickered around the lounge a bit surprised when she saw Amelia laying down lazily on the couch playing with a bird that proably died. "Amelia..?!" The blonde asked slowly approaching her younger sister.

The sight and sound of the door suddenly opening surprised the younger sister enough to make her jump slightly. Finding it frustrating to figure out who this person was while in her current position, she twisted herself right-side-up. Recognizing the newcomer as her sister, Amelia sat up straight and smiled.

"Morning!" was he only word that came out of her mouth. Stretching her arms way above her head, she felt relieved as her back popped. The little chick was seated on top of her head. Though she didn't say anything about it, the storm-eyed girl was happy that she was in this school along with her sister. It had been rather lonely back home. Her being here was because of an accident, mainly involving a science museum and a large dinosaur freaking out for half a second.

Walking over and sitting on the other side of the couch she blinked blankly at Amelia not really finding the correct words besides "How have you been...?" The blonde blankly asked moving some hair aside from her eyes.

Studying her sister from head to toe, she stopped for a second staring at the chick that stood ontop of her head. Sighing quietly, "Amelia.. What is that..?" Alison asked pointing directly at the bright yellow chick that stood on her head. Biting her lip looking at it in concern.

"Great!" She chirped, with a closed-mouth grin that nearly made her grey eyes close. She clasped her hands together, but only between her knuckles.

Looking up, not that she could see it, Amelia stared at the tiny avian. "A quail," the blonde said, not seeing any problem with the chick. She would have said 'Taxidermy' as well, but that would have made it creepy. It peeped quietly and fluttered it's fluffy wings, as if it sensed it was being talked about.

Alison always had admired her sister because she was always so ecstatic, never once in the blondes life had she ever saw Amelia ever down. Unless she hide her feelings away, which seemed like an option. Smiling Alison nodded, "And what about Mom and dad..?" She questioned her sister wrapping her arms around her knees.


Giving a skeptical glance at the quail Alison gave a suspicious glance at Amelia, Slightly raising her eyebrow as she studied her face. "Isn't it better just to get a quail that had been living..?" The blonde asked her giving a slight cough. To slightly cover up what she had said.

"They're fine. Not too happy with me, though," she giggled softly. It had been so funny to freak out her fellow teenagers, even if she never met them before. It was still funny.

Raising a hand in front of her friend, she let the bird perch on her finger. "I wanted to give her a chance," the younger sister explained, like it was just that simple. The quail chick looked up and cheeped at the girl, causing her to laugh in return. Amelia gently petted it on the head with a finger on her opposite hand.

Alison blinked in response as she mentioned that her parents werent apperently happy, though she couldnt blame them both of their childern went off to some weird ass school that her father only knew about at the time. Surprisingly her father knew exactly what to do when he found out that his two childern had gifts.

"I guess thats a nice thing for you to do, whats her name..?" Alison had asked the younger sibling as she sliently watched the quail and her sister giggle together. A ammused smile growing on the teens pretty face laughing a bit herself.

The never-ending smile was still on her face. When she thought of her parents being unhappy with her, it faltered. She was their youngest daughter (currently), and she was being sent to learn from these strange people at this strange school with many other strange students. Hopefully they were just unhappy with that. But, if it was her who was the problem, with her mischievous nature.. That would be an issue.

Focusing on the pretty brown flecked creature on her finger, she carefully scratched behind her fluffy wings. "Her name's Brynn." Thinking for a moment, she added, "Would you like to pet her? She's really soft." Amelia moved her hand slightly closer to her sister, to which the named quail responded by curiously tilting her head at Alison.
