She knew the jet-lag would be hitting her soon; she prayed that sleep would not take her during the train ride. She could not afford to miss her stop. The train was nicer than anything she had seen in Cairo. The seats looked comfortable and the cars weren't packed full with people so much so that one not used to it would call it claustrophobic.

When she finally found her seat, she saw it was across from a boy that looked about her age. She gave him a small smile when he looked up, but otherwise said nothing to him.

There was not a train that went straight into Rosebury, so she would have to take a taxi when the train stopped at the station closest to the town. She noticed that the boy sitting across from her stood and gathered his things when they came to her station, just as she did. Briefly, she thought about who he was and where he was going.

It was a small train station. The main road was not difficult to find. She put her fingers between her lips and whistled as best she could. Her best was pretty good. A taxi stopped immediately, just a few feet from where she had been standing. She took a moment to gather her things, then walked over and opened the door. She got in.

The boy from the train was sitting next to her.

With a squeak, said boy jumped in the car, nearly banging his head on the top of the cab. "A-Ah! Sorry, this is your cab," Peter choked. He hadn't expected to climb into the same taxi as someone else, let along the girl who conveniently sat across from him on his train ride towards North Dakota.

The trip from Queens was a long one. The young New Yorker had occasionally fallen asleep during the ride, yet managed to stay awake for the later half. It just so happened that a rather cute girl sat across from him while the brunet was alive and alert.

Whether it was chance or fate, he didn't know, but Pete felt a slight blush creep onto the back of neck, causing him to rub it uncomfortably. He stole this girl's ride to wherever she was headed. "I-I can catch the next one." He let out a shy chuckle. "Rosebury isn't far from here, I don't mind the wait."

Heat rose to her cheeks. She thought she would never see this random boy again so she had not even bothered to really look at him - he was more than considerably attractive and his awkwardness and polite response to getting in the same taxi as someone else was, well, sort of adorable.

Homeschooling had certainly not prepared her for a situation such as this. Wait, she thought. Did he say Rosebury?

"You're going to Rosebury?" she asked. Her Egyptian accent was evident when she spoke, no matter how many English lessons she was given. "That's where I'm going." She met his eyes and bit her bottom lip. "We can share, if you would like. I don't mind."

Was it coincidence or fate?

"You're going there too? Then are you a--" his voice cut off as the taxi driver looked back at the two teenagers, clearly annoyed and wanting to move along. With a gulp, he sat down and clicked his seatbelt over him. "U-Uh, let's share then!" Peter chuckled, his cheery tone clearly forced. The boy placed his hands on his blue jeans with a firm pat, his head forward and a nervous smile planted on his boyish face.

She couldn't help but smile to herself at his nervousness. She strapped herself in and said a simple, "Rosebury, please," to the driver who seemed less annoyed now that he had a destination.

She leaned over in her seat towards the boy so she could whisper in his ear without the driver listening. "If you were asking what I think you were asking, then the answer is yes," she said. She straightened back to her side and gave him a soft smile. "My name is Anuket Naifeh. You may call me 'Anu', if you like. What is your name?"

"A-Ahnu? Haha, okay!" his laugh still as nervous as before. "My name's Peter. Peter Parkley. N-Not to be confused with Peter Parker, y'know?" He tugged his hand upward to hold it in greeting but he felt the resistance and looked down when his hand would not move from his pant leg.

Shit. The nervousness activated his power. While it was a helpful addition when it came to climbing, sometimes it did this. He often found himself sticking to things whether he liked it or not. And it was often the latter. Trying to hide his struggle, he returned Anuket's smile and silently pulled his hand up, hoping to shake his gift away without it being overly obvious. "S-So... Where do you come from? I'm from New York. Queens, to be exact."

She tried not to giggle at his obvious nervousness, but honestly, he was adorable. She settled with an ever-growing smile. "It is nice to meet you, Peter." When he mentioned the name 'Peter Parker', admittedly she had to think about it for a moment. But she didn't have to think for long. Spider-Man. She didn't know a lot about comic books and she didn't know a lot of superheroes, but she did know him.

"I am from Cairo, in Egypt. This is my first time in America." She blinked and suddenly felt the exhaustion behind her eyes. It was a long flight and there's a seven-hour time difference. As much as she tried, she wouldn't be able to hold off the jet-lag for long.
