Recovering

The pain. Oh my gosh; the pain. Hosa was laying on one of the white beds of the infirmary, one of her hands resting on her chest. Under her shirt her chest was wrapped in cloth, having cracked, and also broken, some ribs during the latest mission. It had been a Giant Spider of Doom. What the hell Hosa was thinking when she joined she wasn't sure, but she now was sure suffering for it. "I so hope the next mission I am in doesn't involve me getting kicked in the chest," she moaned; before she heard the sound of a creaking door to the infirmary, and propping herself up, she glanced at the door to see who was visiting or if anybody else was hurt at the moment.

Craig slipped through the door, a tad annoyed by the squeak of the door. He held some flowers in his hands. Putting them somewhere to the side, the brown-haired boy sat next to Hosa, eyes full of worry and concern. "Hey Hosa." he whispered. "I heard what happened." he began, but didn't know what else to say. After a moment he murmured, "I hope you get well soon." Craig pulled on his jacket, unsure of what to say, if he should comfort the girl. He had never actually been face-to-face with someone seriously injured for a while.

Moments after Craig slid through the door, Taiyden pushed it opened again. He peeked in, then slid around the wood door. He walked over to the bedside opposite Craig. He hadn't brought flowers or anything. He had been sure his showing up would be enough. He glanced at Craig, not sure who he was. Must be another friend of Hosa's. Looking back at Hosa, he suddenly felt very sorry for her. Well, he'd felt sorry her before, but he swore he would've fell if he'd been standing, the strength of the sorriness was so strong.
"I heard what happened too.." he whispered. He looked up a little, then back at Hosa, feeling small and awkward.
"I hope you feel better really soon. I'm sorry that it had to happen to you- or anyone." he added quietly. He shifted his weight slightly.

Hosa smiled as Craig came in, her eyes brightening as she saw the flowers. "Thanks, Craig." She became quite as Taiyden came walking in. "Hey, Tai." She finally forced herself to sit up, not really minding the pain that flashed in her chest. "I'm fine, I'm fine, don't worry. They said that I should just rest up and I should be able to go back to school tomorrow as long as I am careful. I am not going to let mostly cracked ribs bring me down."

Taiyden didn't look quite so sure about her being fine.
"Well, they know what's right.. right?" he offered quietly. He shifted again. He didn't really like Craig. He was probably taller than him and he looked like he was good at everything. Oh well.
"Are you sure you'll be OK?" he picked up again, glancing at her.

Someone never heard 'don't judge a book by their cover.' Craig managed not to glare at this 'Taiyden"'fellow. And, what if he was Hosa's boyfriend or something? Swallowing something the brownhaired boy hadn't felt before- something called jealousy- because he couldn't be jealous. Ever.
Craig pulled her chair a bit closer to Hosa, stretching out a hand to Taiyden. "I'm Craig. Hey." the tone was suprisingly calm, dealing with the fairly angry feeling he felt about Taiyden.

Just sighing, she glanced from Craig to Tai and back again, trying to act like she hadn't noticed that Craig had moved closer to her. "Oh, right, Craig, meet Tai. Tai, like he just said, this is Craig." Right, had forgot to introduce the two males that were her closest friends. Was she trying to get them to fight for her? She couldn't help but smile at the thought of them fighting over her. Who would win...That would be the question of the deca-No, wait, get back on track. Shaking the amusing thought from her head she glanced at Taiyden. "And I am sure I am fine. If not, I am sure I could fine animals to change into if they started to hurt..." She shivered as she thought of the first animal that popped into her head without bones. "Like spiders, they don't have bones...or jellyfish. I could go live the lake or something if my ribs started to hurt really badly."

Taiyden looked a Craig. He forced himself to give a smile, which as jagged and awkward. Extending his arm, he shook hands with Craig, then pulled his hand back quickly. Then he looked at Hosa as she noted how she would just turn into a jellyfish or spider if her rib's started hurting; but while listening to her and watching her, he didn't fail to notice Craig shift closer to her. He shifted closer to her too, then started to answer her.
"Or you could just wait a day or two more for them to heal all the way. What if they don't just hurt really bad, they shift and cause something worse to happen?" he swallowed the rest of his sentence, and pushed the thought of her ribs shifting and piercing her heart away. The thought of his only human friend's death made him queasy, and upset.

Craig clenched his fists, trying to calm himself down. If Tai got Hosa to thinking she was gonna die, well....lets not get there. Rubbing an eye, he thought of what he would do if Hosa really did die. This Tai kid looked like he knew what he was talking about. "Can you just stay here two more days, Hosa?" brown eyes glittering with worry, he reached out to grab her hand gently. "I don't want you to get hurt."
"Oh, Not a spider, please. A lot of people would freak out, seeing a spider scurrying around the classroom, you know."
He laughed inwardly at the thought of Jason or some other brave and cool guy jumping on the table, screaming like a little girl.

She opened her mouth to say something, but seeing the two look from the boys and with Craig now holding her hand... She let out a sigh as she fell backwards onto the bed. "Ugh, fine, I'll stay, but I won't be happy about it." Her gaze drifted from Craig to Taiyden. "Expect to get many letters from me in the next two days about how much I dislike it here. You shall pay for this, you two. Besides, this isn't the first time I've gotten cracked ribs. Let just say that my old school had two of the world's meanest bullies at it, and they really, really disliked me."

"Well, mail is always good anyway. And, that sucks, about the bullies and all." he responded, tipping his head.
"On a new topic, what was your old school anyway?" he glanced at Craig, holding Hosa's hand. No, I'm not jealous. I don't get jealous... Hopefully. he thought plaintively.
