Sushi the Socialite - Page 2 Empty

Evelyn blinked in surprise as her name was called. "J-jace...?" Evelyn called back, sliding off the bed. What was he doing here? She lightly scampered up to the door, her bare feet barely making a sound on the carpet. Was he just visiting? Was that a thing? Without thinking, she quickly scanned the entire room as if she was appraising it. Why did she care? It was just a friend stopping by... for whatever reason.

Evelyn stopped, creaking the door open. Her body was mostly hidden. The skirts weren't exactly short, they were issued by the school after all, but without the thigh-high leggings her legs felt bare. After conversing so freely with Kimply, feeling so self-conscious all of the sudden felt strange. Hmph. Maybe it was just Kimply's seemingly carefree and strange nature that made her feel that way.

The girl's violet eyes were alight with curiosity as she stared at Jason from behind her door. "H... hello..."

Oliver was surprised by the thanks. "No problem." he said rather quickly, almost stuttering. As Jace went to the room, Ollie began wondering why the boy was here. Was he Evelyn's boyfriend? He looked quite older than her, but he was pretty sure Evelyn was just small for her age. It was very much possible. Oliver continued to watch the television, but glanced to his side every now and then as to listen to what was going on in there. He still was wondering who else was in there. It was probably that Kimply girl, who also resided in the dorm. She and Evelyn had befriended each other to his knowledge.

Jason let out a quiet yawn, covering her mouth and leaning against the wall next to her door. He wasn't sure if he had heard her, or anyone else inside. He hoped she was still there, not wanting to awkwardly wait outside her room for too long. Luckily, she opened up a lot sooner than expected. He stood up straight too see her, but was a little surprised when she only cracked the door open slightly. "Hey," Jace smiled at her through the narrow space, rubbing the back of his neck with his free hand. "Is this a bad time?"

Sushi the Socialite - Page 2 Empty
PostSubject: Re: Sushi the Socialite   Sushi the Socialite - Page 2 EmptyTue Mar 26, 2013 2:46 am

sorry for skipping you, potato. skipping you multiple times, i think. i just want to post sorry please accept this highborn virgin as a sacrifice your hair looks lovely today please don't hurt me ;-;

Evelyn shook her head, staring up at Jason. Maybe it was, in a way. She was in the middle of talking to Kimply, but she was sure she wouldn't mind. It was probably important anyways. Why else would Jace come over to her room? Evelyn stepped back, opening wide the door and revealing Kimply on the bed as she stood to the side. She blushed slightly in embarrassment as her gaze skimmed the shoes and leggings lying discarded on the otherwise spotless floor.

That's when Evelyn looked back up to Kimply. She should probably say something. Maybe introduce them? Well, Kimply did say that the dorm had been pretty much empty before the first wave of initiates. Maybe she already knew him. Panic started to swell in her chest. What did she say to them? What if Kimply took it as a sign of offense that she let Jace in? Should she say anything at all? Were they supposed to say something? In some vain attempt to do something without coming off as weird, she shut the door behind Jace.

Why did I do that?! Evelyn mentally screamed at herself. What if he was just coming by for a quick visit? What if all he wanted to do was drop some news by? She held her hand above the doorknob for a couple of moments, her hand twitching back and forth as if every part of her brain and body were fighting with themselves over what to do. Was that a stupid thing to do? That was a stupid thing to do. Probably. Possibly a stupid thing to do. Maybe not. Opening it up after closing it would definitely seem weird. Better to look only somewhat weird than really weird. Though, it might give Jace the impression that she expected him to stay. Oh, no...

Evelyn's hand finally retracted from above the doorknob and joined her other hand in front of her. Her hands were clamped together, and she rocked back and forth on her feet to try to get into a more natural casual position. But by the way she averted her gaze and smiled awkwardly, she didn't look very casual. More on edge, like at any second Kimply and Jace were going to tackle her to the ground for French nuclear launch codes because all of the other supervillains already stole from the more popular world powers. If anything, Evelyn would only dabble in Israeli launch codes. That region was much more exciting than Europe or Asia.

"I feel popular... hehehe..." she joked lightly, though her voice was quiet and her tone was tinged with awkwardness and caution. Stupid joke. Not even a joke. It didn't have a punchline. It was just a slightly amusing thing to say. Evelyn didn't even say it right. She couldn't do anything right. As much as she enjoyed the company, maybe it was best if the encounter was kept brief.

Before she could reply to Evelyn's comment, the sound of a knock at the door and a boy's voice stole her attention. A guy? Visiting Evelyn's room? Shooting the girl a questioning glance, Kimply bit back a knowing smile. Kimply sat with her legs folded under her as she curiously watched Evelyn open the door.
She recgonized the boy as Jason Wright, the headmaster's son. She had a few classes with him last year, though they rarely spoke. "Hey Jace. I guess you know Evelyn?" She wished she could ask if there was something going on between them without causing Evelyn to have a heart attack. Looking over at the girl, she quickly mouthed Relax, praying for her friend to magically rid herself of that careful facade that she had just moments ago broke down.
It seemed to be one step at a time with this girl.
Kimply chuckled softly at Evelyn's joke, though it was quiet. Looking from her friend to the boy, Kimply bit her lip. "So... Why'd you come by?" She asked, directing her question at the young man, trying to make the moment less awkward. Fat chance of that happening.

Meanwhile, while Evelyn was drastically over-thinking everyone one of her moves, Jason had walked inside without thinking much about it. He wasn't planning on staying all to long at all, he just had something that he had to return to her. Still, his gaze traveled around the room. It was pretty plain, but that was most likely because she had only been here for a short amount of time. There was the fish tank as well, it still baffled him how on earth she carried that thing for so long.

His gaze then fell on a more familiar face - noting her messy hair... How messed up the bed-sheets were. Um. Was he interrupting something? Jace shook his head at himself slightly. No, don't be stupid. "Hey, Kimply." He greeted back with a small nod of his head, "Yeah. Met her on the day all the initiates rolled in." Jason explained simply.

Jace's gaze flickered back behind him and down at Evelyn, laughing quietly under his breath as well. "Well," The young man started. If she wanted to get straight to the point, "I came to return something this lovely miss left behind." He pulled out the dagger she had left behind in the courtyard, offering it gently to her. Although he did remember the uncomfortable look she had given it, youknowshebeneedin'itbros.

Evelyn's' internal panic and curiosity continued to rage inside of her when she caught sight of the dagger in his hands. "Oh..." she said quietly as she took a careful step forward, gingerly taking it from him and holding it as if it were toxic. The blade dangled from her fingers, precariously swinging slightly before she laid it down on the drawer behind her. She couldn't help but feel just a bit disappointed and it showed on her face. That was all? Evelyn frowned, leaning back against the drawer and crossing her ankles. Just bringing the dagger back? Still, she tried her best to push the frown away and look up at Jace. It was nice of him to bring it back... "T-thank you..."

Evelyn caught Kimply's expression and she could feel herself getting more anxious by the second. Did Kimply think that...? No, that would be silly. Something happening between her and Jace, that was. Not Kimply. Kimply wasn't silly. Well, Kimply was silly. Not the same stupid silly though, no. Kimply was just weird. Not in a bad way, just... Evelyn suddenly felt her mind buzzing and moved her hand up, playing with her hairpin. Why was she so nervous now? It was just Jace... in her room...

Oliver stood up, stretching a little bit and walking to the bathroom. He had to use the restroom, and therefore was going to do so. However, he couldn't help but overhear why Jace was there. A dagger, eh? It wasn't a surprise that Evelyn mysteriously left her dagger. She didn't strike the boy as the stabby stab stab stabby type. Oliver went into the dorm bathroom, and shut the door and stuff.

Sorry for the shitty post, there is no way I can squeeze myself in this. ;n;

At the moment, it was rather difficult to focus on Evelyn exactly, so he settled for keeping his gaze on Kimply instead - not even really bother to look at her when she took the dagger out of his hands and stash it away. The smile for her had stayed on his face, though, until he had caught her lowly tone. It did hurt him a bit to see her so disappointed. What was wrong with her? Did she want to throw it away that badly? He pondered if she had left it behind on accident after all. "Its erm - Important to keep it with you." Jace said. He really wasn't the lecturing type and he didn't feel like he had the right to remind her, "I mean - I won't always be there to protect you. I'll try, but... Just keep it with you so I don't have to worry so much, alright?" The young man finally looked down at her with a hopeful smile.

That was okay, right? There were few things Jason particularly cared about - but his friends were one of them, and he couldn't help but fill in the role of big brother over them; like Jayden, obviously. Lotte as well. And now Evelyn. He would worry about them more than he did himself.
