Just Another Girl [Open]

Well, here it was. Another school, yet again an outcast. At least, that was how Sarah saw it. Even though she was a native to the North Dakota area, and her parents were gifted as well, she hadn't heard of Beata. Nor had they told her that the school she would be going to also had other students with the same problem as her... They possessed supernatural abilities. Whether or not the government knew about this was a question that Sarah would surely have later, but at the time being she was just mainly worried about how she would be around all the other students.

The fact that she had to get to Beata from Rosebury didn't help either... Much less from the fact that it was by boat. What could she say, other then that they freaked her out? But the relieving fact was that she was on dry land. Dry land, that wouldn't be swayed by any water that may be lurking beneath. All she carried with her, was a simple backpack, and a laptop satchel. The satchel hung at her side, riding at her hip, while the backpack was carried on the opposite shoulder. The contents of both bags included her laptop, a binder that included many sheets of paper, pencils, and pens, Prismacolor colored pencils, a sketchbook, a bottle of water, and an extra set of clothes.

Looking around, she was quick to analyze the surroundings as she walked through the front gate. Immediately, she could point out new buildings from old, the looks of the worn brick obvious from the newer ones. The fountains took her breath away, a soft smile unable to be held back from appearing on the young girls' face.

Immediately though, she noticed her attire didn't match that of the other students. While they all wore a uniform with some slight differences from certain people, she wore a pair of jean shorts, moccasin-like boots, and a white t-shirt... Which, was overlaid by a dark blue hoodie that seemed to look almost knitted. What most people wouldn't know unless they looked closely though, was that a pair of white cloth cloves covered her hands. This was mainly to contain her gift, as the recent realization of such a thing made it hard to contain. The struggle for power was real in her case.

Taking another step into the school though, she looked around nervously, and bit her lip. She wasn't the best at meeting people at first, and this was surely stuck to her like a badge. (;D) Swinging the other strap of the backpack over her other shoulder, afterwards Sarah brought her hands closer to her chest. Walking nervously towards a random student, she pushed up the pair of blue glasses she wore.

"I-I-I um... C-Can... Can you show me over to the... To the front desk?"

Luke frowned slightly as he stared at the ground, shuffling his feet. New to Beata, he had barely made it into the gate before he went his own way and was standing on the side of the walkway. His hands were stuffed into his pockets and his blonde hair a ruffled mess. His eyes only darted from the ground as somebody walked by - a light brown hair girl that looked to be a little younger than him - and followed her as she headed further into the entrance of the school. She looked new as well, not wearing a uniform like all of the other people he could see. Of course, he himself was not wearing the uniform either, wearing a simple white t-shirt with brown jeans. A soft blue backpack was strapped to his back, with some of the pockets being slightly darker.

He had thought a few times to go up and ask for directions from the other students, but he had never gotten along that well with other people - he supposed it was his fault as he found himself more interested in reading books or solving puzzles then attempting to make friends and a few people understood his fondness for such puzzles. But he survived. The other newcomer however seemed to be more braver then him, as she had soon headed forward and asked to be shown to the front desk. He frowned slightly before he sighed, stepping forward. He supposed he might as well jump in to get help as well.

As he walked, he pulled his hands from his pocket to reveal that he was wearing simple brown gloves. Their simple use was to avoid his power activating - simple skin contact was all that it needed to start and here he knew he would have to be wary of that as everybody here was gifted and thus his gift was useable on them. He came to a stop just behind the other new student, his gaze drifting off to scan the entrance courtyard. It was pretty, he had to admit that. He soon cleared his throat, his eyes returning to the student that had been asked for help. "I'm new here as well," he said in a soft tone, folding his arms across his chest. "So...If you could lead me to the office as well..."

Skating along on the sidewalk looking at the Academy from a distance, Lance was amazed at the structure of the school. He was new to Beata and was quite anxious about being there. Knowing that it was a place for young teens like himself that all have a unique gift. Never would he have thought that so many people would be gifted like him. Thinking of all the possible abilities these students would have. Growing up in a small town in Colorado, Lance didn't really associate with too many people. He hung around with the rowdy kids of his town. Usually getting into some type of trouble. Being a new student in Beata, he began wondering what type of people he would hang out with. His mind flooding with many questions and thoughts.

  Reaching the front gates, Lance placed his foot off the skateboard and began scanning the entrance to the Academy. Looking left, then right, noticing that most of the students were wearing a uniform of some type. "Uniforms?....Lame." Letting out a sigh of disappointment, He popped the board up so he could grab it with his left hand and carry it. The 15 year old was wearing a plain dark red shirt with beige-ish colored shorts. A very small notebook hung from his shorts by a small chain. On his back, He sported a dark gray backpack. The board in which he rode on, was pure black. Typically this is what he would wear so the thought of wearing a uniform made him annoyed. The boy would soon forget about that when realizing he didn't know where to go. Looking around until he noticed two students who also looked like they were new. One being a younger girl and the other a male around his age. They seemed to have been asking someone for directions. Casually walking over to them, "Hey! Do you think you could show me around as well?" He said to the student they were talking to. Stopping right next to them awaiting their answer.

Vincent was strolling around the school, and had made it near the entrance. The dark haired student wore his usually school uniform that had red accents, and the summer house patch to show what house he was in. He was still kind of new, but he had memorized the lay out of the school, and can show people around if needed. He also had gotten better control of his power. He could create small flames but that was just about it.

He had paused in his walking to look around. When he was suddenly approached by a pretty girl. A small smile appeared on his face as she spoke, he was about to say something when other students started approaching him as well asking for directions. A frown appeared on his face. Man he wanted to compliment the girl. "Sure, I can show all of you around, and I would be glad to." He said the smile returning to his face.

Honestly, Sarah hadn't really even been paying too much attention to the appearance of the student she had asked until others had started appearing. But once they had, boy had almost everything changed. She wanted to just shrink right there, go and hide away... But that wouldn't be happening anytime soon. There was no way to escape this little crowd of students now, and if Sarah knew anything she'd have to be really careful. Even with her gloves on, it would still be hard for her to control her gift. Glancing down nervously at her hands, fumbling with them as they were clasped at her waistline, she looked back up with a grateful look in her eyes when he said that he would show her around to where she needed to go.

That was when she got a good look at him, and she noticed a few things that she seemed to like. The shape of his face, the way it was constructed... His black hair was something she liked, and how it fell at just long enough strands to where it fit him well. His eyes seemed to be a hue that she couldn't describe other then being an olive-like grey, the dilute dark green seeming to look grey in the current lighting conditions. To say the least, in her mind he was attractive. What didn't help though, was when she turned to look at the other two students who had asked for directions, was that they were all guys.

That, was something that made her heart start to race somewhat. She didn't like being surrounded by male students, it made her nervous. It wasn't that she had anything against them, no. But it was just the mere way that her nerves worked that it made her wary. Brushing a piece of her brown hair over behind her ear, her gaze drifted back slightly downwards. "Thank you so much, sir." Her voice was somewhat louder then before, although there was still a nervous hint to it. Nevertheless, though, she made sure it was polite and kind.

Readjusting the blue glasses on her face, she looked at the older students' uniform. "I-I hope you don't mind if I ask, um... About your uniform? I wasn't told anything about this school before I came here..." Man, she was really stuttering. That wasn't normal for her, and it made her worry somewhat. Noticing the small layer of ice building up on her gloves, she quickly shoved her hands in her pockets to keep the others from noticing.

Luke's eyes flickered to the new comer as another new student walked up, a small huff escaping from him as he glanced back at the uniformed student as he agreed to show them around. He smiled softly, although it was only half real as he unfolded his arms and stuffed his gloved hands into his pocket again. "Ah...Thanks," he stated with a soft shrug, missing the girl nervously pushing a piece of her hair behind her ear, speaking louder this time. She was getting slightly braver, hurray.

His gaze had been wandering back around the entrance way and studying the buildings before him when the girl suddenly asked about the uniform. He raised an eyebrow as his eyes darted back, fixing her with an odd stare. Why the hell you would bother to ask about that? He had heard about a bunch of schools requiring uniforms - and while he had never been to one he wasn't surprised that a fancy school like this had one.

Sure, he had taken notice of the small differences in what seemed to be four different colored accents in it. Blue, green, red and orange... They reminded him of the four seasons and he had a hunch that perhaps that was the point. It reminded him of a puzzle of sorts, trying to figure out what the differences was and why. Ever since he was young he had a fondness for puzzles, and he was rather good at them if he had to say so himself. Good at picking up some small details, he enjoyed mysteries...And so, he soon found himself interested in the student's response as he wanted to know if his hunch was right and to put that mystery - at least a mystery to the three newcomers - to rest.

Lance nodded his head in appreciation toward the student who had agreed to show them around. Was more relieved that he wouldn't have to waste his time like a fool looking around. Lance didn't really take any notice to the other students that were next to him. Deciding to do so, one thing stood out the most to him was when the girl and the boy both put their hands in their pockets. That was a bit odd. They also seemed to be wearing gloves. Why was that? He didn't know. Putting his hands forward and looking at them. Thinking about how important his hands were to his gift. Then gently putting them back down to his side. When the younger girl had asked about the uniforms, he was anxious to know what was the deal with them as well.

"Well since we'll be together for a bit, My name is Lance." He said while letting out a small grin. This wasn't something he was accustomed to doing. Typically, he wouldn't have said anything. The small group of students before him weren't exactly what he was used to. Growing up as a very independent kid, Lance was rowdy and troublesome. Being in a new environment, Lance thought he would try to tone it down a bit. Besides, it wouldn't be smart to cause trouble in a place he doesn't really know. Especially a place filled with gifted people.

Man these new students weren't exactly that sociable except maybe for Lance. "Oh the uniforms? Everyone gets them. You start out with the initiate uniforms, or the new student uniforms. After a while of being here you will take this personality test, and based on your answers on that test you will get sorted into one of four houses. There is the Spring house which is green, then there is the Summer house which is red, then the Autumn house which is orange, and then the Winter house which is Blue. Depending on the house you get you get a corresponding uniform. I am in the Summer house. Us summers try to help others, and usually put others before ourselves. We are a very passionate house, and rather outgoing." He said keeping his smile. He liked his house a lot, and was glad he go sorted into that house. He took a moment to think about the other houses. He didn't really know too much about them but he would try his best to describe them to the new students. "The winter house, which my brother is in, is more about reason, and finding answers to things. Most of the people in that house are intelligent. The Spring house I know is about order, and organization, and the autumn house is a rather care-free, and creative environment. He said in a normal tone. He may have answered her question more than he should have but oh well. Better to answer all questions in one go rather than multiple questions.

After hearing Lance introduce himself. Vincent thought he should introduce himself as well. He was going to be showing them around for a bit anyway like Lance said. "Name is Vincent. You guys can call me Vince, or Vinny if you don't feel like calling me Vincent." The pyromancer said in a happy tone.
