A Promise of Rain [//Open] Empty
PostSubject: A Promise of Rain [//Open]   A Promise of Rain [//Open] EmptyFri Jun 24, 2016 9:13 pm

It was a rainy day at Beata Academy, a flat layer of gray clouds covered the sun from view and there was a periodic gust of wind. A promise of rain.

A lone student stood with his back to the fountain, a small suitcase was propped up and the teen was using it for an arm rest. A white paper stick stuck out the side of his mouth, and the candy at the other end was stuck into his mouth. The teen rolled it around in his mouth thoughtfully, the hard sugar crunching in his mouth as he bit down. His posture had a slump to it, his relaxed demeanor on full display.

Violet eyes traveled around the brick building that was the school. It was a beautiful place, and held a lot more charm than Boise had to offer. Sure their capital building was cool, but that was really all it had. Such a boring place. It would be a great place for his brother to learn to grow at his power. Once he got there, Axel was sure that he would be bouncing off the walls and heading off to find some other student to fight.

Maybe Axel wouldn't help him out next time. After all, they would be here to learn their powers. It would not be fair if he stunted his brother's progress by continuously helping him in fights. Besides, Jax didn't even know that he did that. If he did, Axel was sure that his brother would try and challenge him to a fight. Which Axel would promptly refuse. The thought made a ghost of a smile brush past his lips. His brother was probably having a hard time back at home without him, counting down the days until he could arrive.

Axel shifted his position, shuffling his feet for a more comfortable pose. That was when he paused and gave his shoe a glance. As casually as he could, the dark haired teen reached into his shoe and pulled out a worn five dollar bill. "Huh, why would I hide my money there?" He pondered to himself, before sticking it into his sock for safe keeping.

Deciding to get a move on, Axel began to head towards the office. One hand pulling along his suit case and another slipped into the pocket of his pants. He couldn't keep standing there forever, could he? Axel took a moment to take a breath of the humid air, eyes closed tightly as he did so. He should get inside before it decided to begin to rain.

A Promise of Rain [//Open] Empty
PostSubject: Re: A Promise of Rain [//Open]   A Promise of Rain [//Open] EmptyFri Jun 24, 2016 10:19 pm

Inari stood by the entrance of the school, leaning on the wall as she eyed the sky wary. She was barely in shelter, hugging herself as a gust of wind blew past and sent a shiver down her spine. Her fox ears flickered in a slight annoyance but her eyes had almost a sad look to them. Rain...Was not something she had been expecting.

Well, that was wrong. A small, orange folded up umbrella hug on her wist by a cord, moving back and forth in the wake of the wind. She had seen the storm clouds gathering from her bedroom window before she had set out, she had just hoped they would have passed. An almost sad sigh escaped her, not really wanting to venture to Rosebury if it was going to rain - even with her umbrella at side.

Her tail flickered as she shook her head, deciding to give up on her journey into the city even before it started. She could send the letter tomorrow. Speaking of which...Her golden eyes flickered down to the envelope that peaked out of her coat's pocket. It didn't really fit in her pocket, almost looking like it was about to fall out. She frowned as she gently picked removed it, staring at the name she had addressed it to with a pained gaze. Her hands started to clench, creasing the paper until movement caught her attention.

Her grip lessen, saving the paper from its fate as she saw somebody walking toward the school - a student no doubt from the suitcase that trailed after him. For a moment, she thought about not saying hi. It seemed like an easy thing to do, just head toward her dorms before he spotted her but...She almost sighed softly. She...Wasn't herself, was she? Her eyes flashed toward the letter in her hands, emotions coming with before she shook her head and stuffed it back into her pocket.

Taking a deep breath and forcing a small smile on her face, she headed toward the new student with a flicker of her tail. "Hello!" she called when she felt close enough, waving with the hand that her umbrella hung from - the cord sliding down to her elbow as her hand raised. The student looked older then her, then again who didn't? She was only fourteen after all. Hopefully he was nice...Most students seemed to be but...Well she had known a student who had been anything but. Her free hand, the one she wasn't waving with, almost clenched at that but she held herself back. Perhaps...It was better not to think about her.

A Promise of Rain [//Open] Empty
PostSubject: Re: A Promise of Rain [//Open]   A Promise of Rain [//Open] EmptySat Jun 25, 2016 12:13 am

Tara was in a hurry to get back to the school, not because of the rain but the promise of something else because of the rain Tara had a new reason why to stay inside all day, because of the rain no one would judge her of wanting to stay inside and not do anything else but read her books.Although Tara could care less if they did judge her, she didn't give a shit about what these people thought of her. If they thought that she was some antisocial bitch then that was alright with her. Tara had stopped caring about what others think of her along time ago and it was freedom in a sense. She could act in anyway she wanted to without having to feel embarrassed or guilty or regret any of her actions. You could say that Tara wasn't very social but she wasn't antisocial she liked company of people but she enjoyed reading, and how it let her thoughts just wander as she entered the world of pretend.

Thats why Tara was in a hurry, to get away from everything. To just stay inside and read more chapters of her book but she also didn't really want to get wet or her socks to get wet either. She saw the entrance too the school way and she would have been racing to the doors but she wasn't exactly watching where she was going and almost ran into someone. However she was able to avoid bumping completely into them but they were clearly in the way, and Tara had also noticed that one of them was a new student so she didn't want to be rude she gave both of them a introduction, hoping that they would exchange names and she would be able to return to her dorm. "Hello" She had greeted making eye contact with both of them.

A Promise of Rain [//Open] Empty
PostSubject: Re: A Promise of Rain [//Open]   A Promise of Rain [//Open] EmptySat Jun 25, 2016 1:21 am

Grey clouds covered the beaming sun leaving a dull blue behind, the day had a moody feel. Like a relaxing but sad feeling. Vibrant red eyes peered out the window of a taxi, a cool fog covering the glass. It wouldn't be long until he reached his new school, Beata Academy.

He has been waiting for his departure to the new school. It was like a giant circus of freaks that had no control over their powers. Sounded great. But he had no room to talk, his power had yet to be controlled and until then he would be in the crowd of weirdos. Green tips of trees provided a contrast against the dull sky, in the distance building tops could be seen as well as a fence.

When the taxi pulled around Riley thanked the driver and took out his backpack and carry-on bag. A small black umbrella was clipped to his backpack in case of rain. The new student brushed back his hair and readjusted his black leather gloves, the only thing preventing him from using his power physically. Mentally, well that was another story.

The campus was a decent size, a green courtyard covering most of it with a blue fountain spouting water. A smirk grew across the initiates face, it was a cozy environment and one he could enjoy. A few students were lingering not to far away, one with a suit case which was a good sign. Riley strolled over to the students and put on a grin, "Is this the new people tour? Mind if I join?"

The new student's violet eyes opened to see another student approach him. His eyes widened a fraction, taking in the ears and tails. Sure he was prepared for some weird powers, but not really...this. In fact, she resembled a fox. Well, now he knew a nickname for her. "Hey, what's up, fox?" He asked with a tilt to his head. Axel stopped in his tracks and propped up the suitcase next to him.

The dark haired boy was about to continue when yet another student appeared. They both wore uniforms, meaning they both already went to the school. "Hey there." He responded, giving the other student a once over as well. She didn't have any ears or tails, so a nickname was out of the question before he could give her a fitting one. They all seemed pretty excited to greet new students. Axel was sure that his brother would have a blast at Beata.

A voice sounded behind him and Axel turned to give a look. Instantly, he knew the boy's nickname. Hiding a goofy smirk, Axel greeted him with a wave. "It's just me and you, Ang." Ang. Short for angst. This kid looked like a walking personification of angst. "We have to head to the front office first, right?" He turned his violet eyes to the ladies for confirmation.

She smiled softly at the nickname, about to tell her that she already had one - even if only a single person other then her ever used it  (and maybe also that fox wasn't really the right word for her. She could avoid this confusion when she got another tail.) - when a girl showed up. Her ear flickered, as she tried to form another thing to say when yet another person walked up. One person she was ready for. Two more? No...No not really. She simply wasn't in the best of moods to speak with three people but at least one of them already went here. Seemed two were new. Mister Nicknamer and...Ang. Perhaps getting names was in older.

Her gaze landed on 'Ang', shrugging the best she could with a sheepish smile. "I guess it is now." Her eyes did turn to the first boy when he spoke up, agreeing with a nod. "And yeah, I can lead you guys there." Then, she turned to the other girl. "You can tag along if you want," she said with a flick of her tail before she turned and started to head back toward the school. As she walked, she messed with her umbrella for a few moments before she glanced back at the group. Right, names. She didn't want to try to call them by nicknames - mostly when 'Mister Nicknamer' had only given it to a single one. "My name is Inari," she offered with a slight tilt of her head and a bright smile. "But you can call me Fly...Or Fox I suppose," she said with a shrug, her gaze flickering to the first boy as she stated his nickname for her. "What are your guys names?"

Tara had glanced at the both of them raising an eyebrow at Axel, he had gave the girl with the tail and pointy ears the most obvious nickname, 'fox' it was uncreative and really just a little silly but she didn't mind it, she supposed it was cute in some form. Clearing her throat Tara cleared the thought of him not giving her a nickname although it was better then him calling her blondie like other people would. When another person had strolled on by Tara had greeted him as well, seeing that it was another new student to the school.

She soon felt as if she wasn't needed seeing that this fox person was a old student and offered to take the two newbies on a school tour. She stuffed her hand into her pocket before glancing at Fly, "Sure I never really got a tour before, names Tara Reyes."

So far he was impressed by the school. There was a girl with ears and a tail, obviously some sort of animal power. The other girl, well, she was quite normal actually, but one should not be deceived by their cover. She was probably a freak just like the rest of them. As for the boy, he had purple eyes. Who the hell has purple eyes? Sure, Riley had red but he was already weird.

Riley nodded towards the fox-girl glad he was able to tag along. His gaze returned to the nicknamer, "Ang? What does Ang mean?" His deep red eyes gazed into the purple ones that seemed to mock him. He readjusted the strap of his carry on and slipped his hand into his pocket. "My name is Riley. Nice to meet you Inari and Tara."

OoC: Excuse my lateness, life is being a bitch rn C':

A white haired boy stepped out of a car after his brother, a smile across his face. Beata academy, a school for the gifted, how exciting! He'd never seen such an extravagant school in his life, and although, he'd been on many trips, this was by far the coolest. Opening the trunk of the car, he grabbed his bag and followed his older brother. He couldn't wait t get started! Oddly enough, he was feeling a bit nervous, which was extremely weird, so he stayed quiet, letting Axel handle things, per usual. Then again, what was there to be nervous about? He gave a wink and a wave to the girls who came over to say hi, then turned his attention back to the victorian-ish school. Damn, he was definitely gonna have some fun causing fights, besides, nothing better than a place full of hormonal teenagers!

Seeing that they all ad good intentions, a goofy grin replaced his chill smile. "Jaxson Matsen, at your service," he replied with a bow to the student who seemed to be helping them along. "This is Axel, my big bro," he added, placing his arm around his brother's shoulder. Jax's specialty: annoying Axel.

(There was so much I wanted to add but in a rush//cries)

The dark haired boy turned his eyes towards the others, a passive look returning to his face. "Thanks for showing us around, Fox." He gave the girl a subtle wink. Sure she had a nickname others called her, but what would be the point of giving her his own nickname and not using it? It's more personal that way. "Reyes?" Axel repeated, bringing a hand up to his shin thoughtfully. The sucker in his mouth rolled to the other side of his mouth. "Alright, Rey. Nice to make your acquaintance." There was a quirk at the corner of his mouth, and Axel answered the other student's question. "You look pretty angst, man. Thus Ang." He told the other boy truthfully, raising both hands palms facing upward in an exaggerated shrug.

"I-" The older student was cut off by his brother who seemed to have gotten out of his day dream about the school. Despite their age difference, they were the same height. Which made the dark haired of the two siblings rather salty. His brother's arm around his shoulders did very little to annoy him, but he faked annoyance with a roll of his eyes. It seemed to make his brother pleased when he got annoyed, so the older decided it would be best to do that often. Just to make Jax happy.

Once introductions were over with, Axel gestured to the front. "Mind if us newbies check in real quick? I'm sure the office would like to know that we have arrived." It wasn't too much of a question, more of a; 'Hey, we are going to do this. Brb'.

It didn't take very long to get the necessary papers signed, uniforms and other dorm information. It was nice to know that he wouldn't be staying in the initiates dorm for too long. With new things in hand, Axel stepped back out into the humid air. The promise of rain lingering, waiting. "It would be best if we put stuff down in the dorms before we go much of anywhere. It would be tiring to lug all of this around, don't you think?"

His voice was polite, and his face was as passive as it got. He didn't smile too much outside of moments with his brother. His brother seemed to be the only cure to his docile outlook on life. Axel would do anything for Jax. Not that his brother knew that. Perhaps one day that feeling would serve its use.

Name after name, it wasn't hard for Inari to remember each name as they gave them - her photographic memory was once more coming in handy - but it did seem a bit overwhelming. Seems even the non-new student wanted to be a member of the tour. A soft sigh almost escaped her. "Well, its nice to meet you everyone," she said as everyone gave their names, smiling back at Axel when he called her 'Fox.' She was cool with whatever nickname.

However, when Axel's brother Jaxson showed up, she seemed to waver at the sight of the two siblings seemingly so happy together...but she quickly recovered herself as Axel spoke up about asking to check in. She nodded quickly as he - followed by the others went in. She spend the time waiting to look at the letter in her pocket once more, but quickly stuffed it away when the door opened and Axel stepped out. "Is everyone set?" she asked, her golden eyes scanning the group before she nodded at Axel - who seemed to be taking charge of asking where to go. "Sure, hopefully most of you guys will be in the same room until you are sorted into one of the four Houses so it shouldn't take long."

Her fox tail flickered as she quickly spun with a wave of her hand - a sign to follow - and stetted off toward the dorms. Her glanced over her shoulder, not wanting to spend this time in awkward silence. "Do any of you guys have questions? I'm rather knowledgeable if I do say so myself so I should be able to answer them," she said with a giggle. It was almost weird, leading everyone around like this. She was most likely the youngest of the group, yet she knew more about the school then any of them she bet. It was great showing off her knowledge...She had to hope it would lead to her getting more tails.

Riley smirked at Axel, "I could get used to that." He liked Axel so far, and soon after that his brother Jax joined them. "Name's Riley" He nodded at Inari, glad she was helping them around the school. The angsty student followed Axel and Jax to the office and got his new papers accepting him into the school.

When the came out the clouds covered most of the sky. Blue could be seen only when the clouds moved apart, but it quickly disappeared. Riley pushed his duffel bag up back on his arm and shoved his papers into his backpack. "Yea, it would be nice to drop off our stuff." The new student watched as Inari spun around, her tail and ears put him in a trace as he admired them. He snapped back into reality once she spoke, "Uh, yea, I have a question. How do we train with our powers?" He subconsciously rubbed his gloved hands together.
