A New Experience

Katia looked out her taxi's window, appreciating the view of the wooded landscape from the confort of the back seat. Occasionally she would turn her attention to the book on her lap, read a few pages, then resume looking at the miles of wilderness.
She had been on the road for a while but wasn't feeling impatience in the least. After many, many miles of travel Katia finally spotted a building in the distance. A smile formed on her lips. She was only a few minutes from her destination.
The yellow vehicle came to a stop in front of the Academy. "We finally arrived!" She said to herself as her driver came around to manually open the door for her. She stepped out of the cab, tipped and payed her driver, and was soon stuck at the enterance with her pink polka dotted belongings: 3 large rolling luggage cases, 2 medium ones, and a small duffel bag.

"What a boring day," Sebastian thought to himself as he let out a sigh. Seated on a bench near the front gate of the Academy he levitated a few pebbles from the ground below up to his palm and began forcing them to revolve in a helix formation. His eyes shifted round and round as he followed the path of a pebble in its revolution, his head rested in his opposite palm being supported by the arm rest of the bench. Sebastian would have never thought that he ever actually wish he was in class, but even that seemed to be a favorable alternative to what he was doing now, nothing. "For a school full of students with superpowers things sure can get dull," he muttered before his attention was drawn to a taxi pulling up in front of the school, "A visitor?"

From the cab out stepped a girl: Blonde hair, blue eyes, dressed a bit strangely, but judging by her features she was obviously a teenager as well, probably close to his own age. As the driver began unloading luggage Sebastian's suspicions were only confirmed, she was a new student. "Maybe things will get a bit more interesting after all," he mused as he proceeded to make his way over to the gate, watching the taxi drive off as he walked closer. Once he passed through the gate he decided it was time to greet his newest peer, offering a smirk and a waving gesture before stopping in front of her and proceeding to speak, "You look like you could use some help."

A chance to make a new friend? How exciting! Katia gave the stranger a big smile "Why, that would be lovely. How kind of you." she stated, examining him closer. His hair spiked her curiousity. *Albinism perhaps? Or maybe he bleached it?* she thought to herself, putting her finger to her lip. Regardless of how it got that way, it went well with his blue eyes.
Katia pointed at her belongings. "However, there are only two of us and six of them. How do you suppose we get them all to the dormitory?" she asked while circling her luggage, that mostly consisted of dresses, boots, and other accessories.
"Oh, where are the dorms anyway?" she added, uncertainty showing on her face.

"What, the initiate dorms?" Sebastian replied inquisitively before returning a smile, "I'm still in the initiate dorms myself. I can lead you there right now so that you can get situated if you'd like." Amused by the girl's concern about the sheer amount of luggage she had with her and limited manpower Sebastian shook his head slightly as he chuckled, "Let me worry about the luggage." With that utterance he motioned with his hand in the direction of the luggage on the ground and reduced the effects of gravity on each of the cases, causing them to levitate. "By the way, my name is Sabastian Cross. Pleased to meet you," he said, offering his hand to the new girl palm faced up. If she offered hers in return he would finish his greeting with a cordial kiss on the hand. A bit old fashioned of a gesture, but one he still found to be appropriate when greeting a lady.

Katia nodded at him. "I would appreciate that." she replied to his suggestion. She tapped her chin in thought before spewing another question, "Do we have to share our dorms with other students?" If he answered yes, would get to choose who she would reside with?
At first she raised an eyebrow at his hand gestures then immidiately clapped her hands at Sebastian.
Katia gasped in awe. Had he just levitated her luggage? Her smile became a toothy grin "Amazing, wonderful! How talented!" she said then gave him her right hand and curtsied with the other.
"And mine is Katia Duboise. The pleasure is all mine."

"Well yes, you definitely have to share initiate dorm spaces," Sebastian replied as he floated her luggage over in his direction, "I'm still an initiate myself, so unfortunately I don't know a ton about how the four houses work yet." He tugged on the hand she had offered him just a bit as me motioned with his head for her to come along before taking a few steps in the direction of the school. "Shall we?" he said, turning back to show Katia a smile and offering her his hooked arm for her to take as he would escort her through campus.

A soft laughter escaped Katia's lips. "Oh my, your tall!" she said as she linked her arm with his. For a second she became self conscious about her small stature. If only she could be a few inches taller.

She tried recalling the last time someone was this mannerly to her. "I thought chivalry had died, but here you are proving me wrong." she stated, returning a smile to Sebastian. At that moment Katia began feeling guilty for imposing her new acquaintance with the task of showing her around campus. She felt as if she was taking advantage of his kindness.
"I hope I'm not too big of a bother; I don't want to be a burden." she stated as she followed besides him.

"A burden?" Sebastian returned in a puzzled tone, "Oh no, not at all. I'm glad to help you. I'm the one who should be feeling fortunate to have the chance to be the first to welcome such a cute girl to the Academy. So no more of that, ok? Now where would you like to go? The Initiate Dorm to drop off your things?"

Katia couldn't help but smirk at Sebastian's compliment. "Charming, a gentleman, and good looking? You better have brains to accompany all that." she replied to him jokingly.

She placed her free arm akimbo to her hip as she thought of his usage of the word drop off instead of unpack or settle in. "Oh? Are you planning on showing me more after our trip to the dormatory?" Katia asked, hoping his answer would be yes. Exploring the campus with company, especially with a character like Sebastian, seemed like a much better idea than doing it alone.

"Well, I chose to come and meet you. Isn't that proof enough of my 'brains'?" Sebastian replied teasingly, returning Katia's smirk, "I just figured that perhaps you would like me to help you get more familiar the rest of campus other than just the Initiate Dorms. If you'll have me that is. I'm fairly new as well, so this might be a good chance for us to help each other out." He pulled his arm towards him a bit, nudging Katia in his direction and motioning with his head for her to come along, "Interested?"

Katia followed Sebastian's lead, "Lets get to it then!" she said, trotting alongside her new friend.
She didn't quite know what to expect at the dorms. She only hoped that her room mates and neighbors would be nice, friendly people.
