Lindsey, You Must Make Friends... Empty
PostSubject: Lindsey, You Must Make Friends...   Lindsey, You Must Make Friends... EmptyMon May 27, 2013 8:51 pm

Great. Just Great. The sky just had to be cloudy, didn't it? Lindsey sighed as she looked around the courtyard. Everything looked so dull since the clouds rolled in for a possibly afternoon shower. The colors in the assortment of flowers around her were bland and even the air had a heavy feel to it. It just dragged her mood down. But at the same time, the cool breeze that blew through felt nice and calming. If only the sun were out. That would make things better. Moving towards a little bench in the area, Lindsey sat down and as far back on the bench as she could go only to swing her legs back and forth as she tried to find something to do, but her mind was racing too much. She was thinking about too many things at one time since she seemed to have a lot of time to think about things. It was irritating, especially because she was starting to get homesick. It was nice being here at Beata and getting all the help she was getting, but at the same time, being at home was also nice. She was with her parents and her siblings; she felt like she belonged there. Here, she was still a sort of stranger. She didn't see much of anyone she had met in passing through the hallways or in the lounge, and no one really seemed to talk to her much either, not even her roommates. Was she just that annoying or obnoxious? It slightly worried her. It was something that had been weighing her down for a while now, but as she sat in the quiet of what seemed oddly to be an empty courtyard, the worry only grew until it began to affect her mood.

Suddenly, the sight of someone in passing caught her eye, pulling her out of her little daze and out of her own little world of thinking. Instantly, she looked up to see if it was someone she recognized, hoping to be able to talk to someone soon.

Why are smart people so unorganized?

That was a question Eloise could not answer.

Eloise stumbled into the courtyard, her arms full with two text books, a few books from the library, and her laptop. She didn't visit the courtyard often. In fact, it took her parents at least a week of begging and a couple bribes just to get her out of the house. The only reason she was outside now was because she was about to drop everything she was carrying within the next few seconds if she didn't give her arms a break, and she just happened to be passing the courtyard. Why wasn't she using her backpack? She was! It's just her backpack was already stuffed to the brim with another textbook, a few overdue library books, and a bunch of papers and homework assignments.

Eloise hurried to where Lindsey was sitting and dropped everything on the bench next to the girl. When one of the text books and all of the library books fell to the ground a half second later, she didn't bother trying to catch any of them. Eloise let out an annoyed sigh as she kneeled on the ground and started picking up her belongings. She realized she should probably say something to the girl sitting next to her. "Sorry," she muttered, without bothering to look up from what she was doing.

"Hmmm hmmm hmmmmm"
A small girl sat on a bench across the path from the two. In her right hand was a teal colored umbrella, covering her all but her feet, which swung in and out of the shelter of the umbrella. In her other hand was a lollipop, in which she had stuck in her mouth a while back. She had a textbook across her lap, but it was obvious she wasn't paying much attention to it. The girl was wearing the Beata school uniform, though it was moistened a tad, showing that she had recently been caught in rain long enough to catch a few drops. She hummed merrily to herself, watching the rain fall and soon the two girls. Hey, look, people! :D The girl really liked people. They looked nice, and her age, and pretty, and they had nice boobs, and...

Lindsey jumped from the unexpected slam of the books and things on the bench next to her before she turned to find Eloise picking up her things. Not even thinking about it, Lindsey quickly went to help her pick up her things, organizing what she had grabbed into a neat stack on the spot where Eloise had tried to put them before they decided to scatter. "Oh, no worries!" She replied happily until she was finally done messing with the textbooks. "There! All nice and neat!" She smiled at her work before she looked at the girl brightly. "Hi there, I'm Lindsey." But as soon as she had seen Eloise, more movement had caught her eye. Instantly, she glanced to see yet another girl looking over at them curiously. It was a little weird, but it didn't seem like she was there a second ago. After hesitating for just a second, Lindsey quickly waved at the new girl, hoping to break the little bit of tension she had begun to feel with the suddenness of strangers.

Eloise blinked at her stack of books. Wow, it really was all nice and neat, neater than her belongings have ever been anyway. "Thanks. I'm Eloise." When she noticed Lindsey waving, Eloise looked over her shoulder to see another girl watching them, but she quickly looked away, uninterested. She really didn't care about these people. She just wanted to get to her dorm room quickly but figured it would probably be rude if she left suddenly after they just introduced themselves.

The girl on the opposite bench waved back at Lindsey a little too enthusiastically. She decided, however, to focus on her book some more. On the pages, the words were supposed to be explaining the Boxer Rebellion. However, from the jumbled mess of black ink sprawled out upon the textbook page, the girl concluded that the Boxer Rebellion was when American boxers fought against the security guards at their matches because they settled their differences. It seemed way more interesting anyhow, so why stick with what actually was? She pouted, though, realizing that this was not acceptable. She began reading further.
The Chinese? Aren't they those dragon people? she deducted in her mind, but it was a start. She was grasping what the book was saying.

"Its nice to meet you!" She responded happily, but she quickly ran out of things to say to the girl. After all, Eloise barely seemed interested in her so she felt like she was just being annoying. She glanced around quickly, trying to find something to talk about as long as Eloise was standing there. She didn't seem like she was going anywhere so Lindsey felt she had to talk. "What are you up to?" She asked quickly, hoping she didn't sound too intrusive. Then she had glanced back at the girl on the other bench and, upon seeing her wave, kind of hoped that she would try to join the conversation. The girl seemed to be nice and confident enough to help boost this little topic ;A;

Eloise seriously considered making up some excuse and walking away. She was never very good at socializing with people, and it was always easier to avoid these situations. But when she came to Beata, she did promise herself that she would try to be a little social. Now opportunity was presenting itself, so... Oh, God; Eloise, just suck it up and answer the question, she said inwardly. "I was heading to my dorm to maybe work on some homework," she jerked her hand away from her face when she realized she was fiddling with her hair. It dawned on Eloise that it already sounded like she was making an excuse to exit, so she decided to say something else. "What about you? Do you come here often?" she asked, looking up at Lindsey.

"And I am Alice~"
The girl had already made her way over to the two. She was beaming happily, resembling a kid in a candy store, and was clutching an umbrella. "Sorry. I couldn't help but overhear you guys. You seem nice. Let's be friends." she suggested. "Oniichan said I am too off putting, but he is just being Oniichan, and I think I am just fine, so he knows nothing, though I don't mean that offensively because Oniichan knows everything, since he is so wise and kind and really handsome, so you should date Oniichan because he is Oniichan, and--"
Her rant about her brother ended as the candy in her hand tipped out of her fist. It fell to the rain-soaked ground, dirty and no longer edible. The girl stared at it, and pouted sadly. "That was a good lollipop..." she said quietly, suddenly losing her previous enthusiasm. Her countenance was adorably tragic, and she sniffed a little.
