Good Grief [Open] Empty
PostSubject: Good Grief [Open]   Good Grief [Open] EmptyMon Jul 17, 2017 9:43 pm

It was just Adrian and Brandon walking towards the gated school yard with suitcases in tow. The day was warm, the sun bright overhead as their shadows were at the shortest for the day. This was countered by a cool breeze that swept through the valley, trees waving as if greeting the two newest students to their new home. Though, to one of those students if felt less than welcoming.

The dark haired boy stared up at them with the slightest squint to his eyes, hand clutching his suitcase and the other swinging at his side--just barely grazing his friend's as they walked. "The sky seems so small here. It's almost claustrophobic." Came Adrian's soft voice, pushing up his glasses passively before lowering his hand. The amount of green was overwhelming too, yet it was the lack of blue in his surroundings that bothered him.

His worries were pushed away by a new bout of anxiety as they stopped at the gate. A red brick building lay before them, partially hidden by a flowing fountain. The bright day made it look almost blue, and a slight smile quirked the side of his lips. Perhaps it wouldn't be so bad. Adrian looked towards Brandon, grateful for his presence. Lips parted to make a comment on it, Adrian froze in place. His eyes went wide as he caught sight of another person. A student perhaps? Whoever it was made his voice die in his throat. Mouth clenching shut, the teen shifted his feet and fixed his gaze on the fountain. Hopefully Brandon would do the talking.

Well they were here huh? Brandon wasn't too sure how he felt about coming to a new place, but having his friend Adrian by his side made him feel a whole lot better. If he had come by himself he wasn't sure what he would do. The blonde boy's occasionally glanced to his quieter friend as they walked to see if he was doing okay.

As soon as the other boy spoke a small smile worked it's way on to Brandon's lips. "Well if the sky is small wouldn't that mean there is a lot of space somewhere else?" He agreed with his friend's statement. There were a lot of trees that seemed to stretch to the sky, almost wanting to consume it, but he wanted to remain positive for his friend, seeing how they were both anxious as to what they would be encountering.

When they reached the gate, Brandon was relieved. He was glad that there would be less walking from then on. It would give his legs a break, though they weren't walking for too long. The school was something to say the least. It had it's own charm, different from other schools that he had attended. His brown eyes turned to his friend, as he heard the small breath of Adrian about to speak, but all that came was silence. The smile Brandon carried disappeared as his eyes turned from his friend to the person in the distance. Yeah that was why.

Sasori stood trying to practice his sand. His sand would move like he wanted and then drop when it got to a certain length. He sighed and stopped trying and started to walk around the entrance, where hopefully nobody was there. Just his luck though two boys were standing there talking. He sighed and tried to walk past in hopes of them not seeing him.

Good Grief [Open] Empty
PostSubject: Re: Good Grief [Open]   Good Grief [Open] EmptyTue Jul 18, 2017 4:09 pm

Unlike Sasori, Carl was a bit more interested by the sight of Adrian and Brandon.

Carl had found himself falling into his usual routine of aimlessly wandering through the school grounds- a routine that he had first adopted upon his initial arrival to the academy. Normally he didn't see very much, aside from the occasional gaggle of students or misplaced items, but today he was greeted with the more exciting prospect of students he hadn't seen before. Carl halted for a moment as he caught sight of Adrian and Brandon, a glimmer of interest briefly evident upon his face as he glanced at the two friends, before resuming his brisk pace once more as he strode towards the two new arrivals. Brushing right past Sasori, he finally halted when he was much closer to the two friends, although there was still a comfortable distance between himself and the newer arrivals

There was a brief moment of slightly uncomfortable silence, during which Carl took the time to quickly size the pair up and take note of the suitcases grasped in both Adrian and Brandon's hands. "I haven't seen you two around here before." Carl finally offered, a slight grin quirking his lips as he thrust a hand out awkwardly towards the boys, feeling a bit unsure on how to formally greet himself in the presence of others. I'm Carl." He hastily added after another moment of slightly painful silence, extended hand hanging limping as he waited for either boy to shake it.

Sasori's eye twitched as the boy brushed past him and he fought the urge to snap at him for touching him. He was not a very big fan of human contact, and his encounter with Sam had proved he had no control over his power emotion wise. He could move it and bring things or push them away sure but imagine if he got a hold of his power? He'd be untouchable, putting up a sand barrier around himself so he did not come into contact with anybody. He watched the three as well before thinking of Sam. Maybe if he opened up a little.. then maybe just maybe he'd have friend's.. Although he would not accept friends so easily as he had trust issues. Sam probably hated him or thought he was a freak like his family had. He walked over too the three boys slowly and gave a little wave unsure of himself. "Uh hello.." He said in a monotone voice with and expressionless face. He mentally facepalmed as he heard himself and shuffled awkwardly.

PostSubject: Re: Good Grief [Open]   Good Grief [Open] EmptyTue Jul 18, 2017 5:16 pm

Once people started approaching, Brandon took a small step forward to put himself in front of his uncomfortable friend. He knew that there wasn't going to be any words leaving his friend while these people were here. While he wasn't too sure about the other boy that seemed to be wanting to get away from them, his attention was turned towards Carl. The blond looked sized the boy up, deciding he didn't seem that unfriendly, a little bit of the opposite in fact. He took the boy's hand and shook it before releasing it.

"I'm Brandon, this is Adrian" The new student introduced the two friends standing at the gate. "Yeah we are new here, we just showed up actually." Brandon was still thankful for his friend being there. His brown eyes turned to the other boy again since he changed his mind and decided to approach. The blond waved in response giving a "Hello." in return.

"We were actually on our way to the office, I think, to start getting settled here, but we got caught up in looking around." Brandon said to the two people that were now paying attention to the two friends.

The first student he had seen stopped and didn't approach, for a brief moment he felt relief. Maybe they wouldn't hav- Adrian's hopes were dashed as soon as they came. Another student pushed his way to stand in front of he and Brandon. A faint grimace was set into place, and the dark haired boy took a step back while eyeing the hand presented to him. The familiar figure of his friend moved to take up position just a bit in front of him. Adrian didn't move or say a word, rather watching the faces of the two unknown people.

What Adrian noticed was the shy nature of one--the boy that he had seen first. Of course, Sasori actually spoke, be it for a brief moment. In response, the boy returned the small wave. Though, his apprehensive face gave no indication he was going to speak any time soon. Even then, nothing genuinely could make it past his vocal cords. So he was left to let Brandon do the talking. Not that he minded at all. It made him glad that they both had gone. He couldn't begin to imagine being at Beata without him. What would he have done face to face in this situation by himself. He certainly did not have the guts that Sasori had to even speak--yet alone hold a conversation.

He often guessed that it was his powers that made him like this. Maybe he'd learn to trust and talk to others more. Here was to hoping. Head inclining towards them both, the dark haired boy watched the shy kid as if trying to pick up pointers for talking. However, all he was getting was the occasional shuffling of feet. Adrian's best guess would be that it was not a good strategy for speaking. Adrian didn't linger on that fact for long. Rather, he opted for listening and making eye contact with the two as if trying to let them know he was listening despite not speaking.

Sasori gave the other, shy boy a small smile the corners of his mouth pulling up. He didn't really need to speak as Carl was the more outgoing one. He had a feeling he would get along better with the shy boy more than the one who would talk to them.

Carl felt a little bit better once Brandon grasped his hand in return, his newfound ease in the situation allowing him to listen a bit more closely now, offering a quick nod at Sasori once he came skulking back to the small group. He met Adrian's gaze for a brief moment, head tilting slightly as he did so, only just barely able to convene the message evident in the other boys eyes. Deciding that it was probably best not to bother or try and force any sort of words from Adrian, he returned his attention back to the conversation at hand.

He nodded along passively as Brandon spoke, gaze flicking between the newly named Adrian and Brandon, although he returned to full attention once it was said that the two boys were heading towards the office.  "The Office?" Carl echoed, raising a hand so that he could swipe his thumb across the bottom of his lip absently as he was struck with a thought. "I'm sure we could show you where it's at- if you need help that is." He added, gesturing towards Sasori and then back towards himself for emphasis, face breaking out in a crooked half grin as he awaited their answer.

Show them where it was? While the offer was nice he wasn't sure if Adrian would be comfortable with the two strangers accompanying them.. It was true that they didn't exactly know where it was in this place. "Yeah I guess that would be nice." The boy responded still unsure if this was the right move for now. The blond looked back to Adrian to see if them tagging along to get to the office was alright with his friend.

While neither of the new students were exactly comfortable in this situation it would be a good opportunity to learn more about the school without having to figure it out themselves. At least the stuff when it came to the students and other areas they could go. He figured the teachers and all would explain all the school stuff.

Sasori nodded stiffly. "I guess we should go then now.." He said trailing off as he had nothing left to say.

The boy merely nodded at Brandon's glance, not entirely thrilled about being around people--but it couldn't be helped...Could it? Adrian titled his head towards Sasori, and gave another curt nod. Slowly he began to walk forward, keeping a close proximity to Brandon. He figured that he had Sasori figured out, but Carl seemed like another story. He seemed more outgoing due to him approaching them first. Adrian paused his thoughts, coming to the conclusion that it was a bit too early to make judgments.

Rather, he took in the entrance, marveling at the fact that the courtyard only had the occasional tree compared to outside the gate. It looked well trimmed, and open. His previous thought of claustrophobia did not apply to the school grounds. Adrian glanced at Brandon, wondering if he noticed the same thing as they made their way to the office.

Turning sharply on his heels after Brandon's somewhat cautious consent, Carl took up a brisk pace that was similar to the one he had used when first approaching the new arrivals, still not minding the silence on Adrian's part. For several long moments the only sound that filled the air was the sound of shoes colliding softly with the ground underfoot and the usual sounds that radiated from the Fountain. Reaching up, he casually brushed a stray curl from his face as he snuck another hardly subtle glance at Brandon, Adrian, and Sasori respectively. "So I'm guessing you two know each other?" Carl finally mused, breaking the slightly awkward silence for the seemingly millionth time, although he hardly minded having to be the ringleader of conversation since it was a relatively short trip to the Office.

Brandon looked back to Adrian making eye contact for a moment, and gave a smile. He was right about there being more space elsewhere. He turned back to Carl and started following the two boys. "Yeah, we do. We actually lived close by each other and are good friends. It was just lucky timing that we discovered our abilities when we did. So we both ended up coming here together." The blond mentioned to Carl. He wouldn't have had it any other way. Coming to a new school with an old friend was a very good thing in the new student's mind.

Adrian loved the silence. Not merely because of his powers, but because sometimes it was comfortable. Which is really what he thought about the silence between the four of them. It sometimes felt like they couldn't speak just like him. Then again, that was just him. Carl took up conversation, and again Brandon answered. It was after a moment he wondered if he and Brandon would be near each other. How would he introduce himself to his dormmates if he couldn't find his voice? A panicked look crossed his face, Adrian reaching out to grasp Brandon's sleeve. "A-ah!" He managed, lips parted in an unspoken sentence.

Shit. He probably looked like an idiot. Bitting down on his lip, Adrian tried to act out that he was trying to ask. Putting two hands together and against his cheek, he attempted to use a universal sign for sleep. Damn, he sucked at charades.
