| Martin had taken the drugs so he wouldn't feel like such a failure. And they worked, the pills increased the power and control of his gift. But then he heard the order go out to all the kids who had been taking the pills.
"Kids, Order 66."
Suddenly he wasn't in control. His mind went dark and his body continued forth, fire blasting from his hands like a flamethrower. Trees everywhere lit up and burned. He ran through the forest, torching anything in his path. His goal was to destroy. So destroy he was going to do. The first thing he wanted to destroy was the forest. It was one of the largest masses on the campus. And his gift fit perfectly with his goal. He ran as fast as his legs would carry him, his entire body seemingly in flames. His feet left flaming footprints on the ground. The forest was burning and he wasn't going to let up. Not until he died.

| As Jarod stood and propped his back up against the tree he was sitting under, all he could smell was the smoke. Even before he saw the rising flames or heard the crackling of the dry, dying trees that were slowly being consumed by the fire, it was the smoke. And it filled his lungs and his whole body, just like the knee-buckling fear he felt as a result. He would've assumed it was just a forest fire, but this was a school with at least 12 children who could create a spark out of the blue.
Before the scent of the thick fumes threw him off, the young man was sitting neatly by a tree, reading his book. He'd usually read in his room, but he knew winter was coming soon, and he wanted to take in the time he could with nature before the frost killed everything, just like he did back home. And it was nice, for once. So he stayed and read for a bit. But here he was now, danger quickly approaching, and all he could think about other than a way to get back to the school--three-quarters of a mile away--was how stupid he was.
His thoughts silenced in a matter of moments, however, when he began to hear someone. And all he could do was freeze in his spot, his legs to weak to move him anywhere else.

| This place was hell on earth, literally.
Brailynn grit her teeth, gasping for air when she could and running through the smoldering forest. If it were a mere accident, this mess would have been put out already. If it were, then the rest of the school wouldn't be turned to crumbles. The people in black, she had seen some of them fighting on her run over, and she knew better of them now since she'd taken on the Guardian mantle. What she hadn't expected was to see students fighting as well. What was wrong with them?
The blonde tightened the gloves around her fists, spotting someone hutches over at the corner of her eye and darting in their direction. At first, she thought it might have been the jerk who set the forest ablaze, but no. It was a stranger, another student, hutched up against a stray tree for support.
The young woman came up behind him, gripping on his shoulder. "Hey, are you alright?" Lynn asked quickly, keeping her eyes out for any sign of their pyromancer. Through all the smole, it was hard to make out anything.
But he had to be out there somewhere.

| Connor sat on a branch of one of the trees. He had to be at least 8 feet up, his legs dangling underneath him. He liked the nice breeze, the fresh smell of the air, and the color change of the leaves. Fall was always one of his favorite times of year, with all the vibrant colors coming to life. It almost made him forget everything going on in school. His grades were failing, his friends suddenly disappearing, and the constant yelling he was rewarded with everyday by his parents. It was bad enough he was beating himself up over his grades, but now his parents over the phone. He just couldn't take it.
Not too long ago he was offered some help, and help meant drugs. They were meant for only a short amount of time, something to get his mind off of things for a while. A habit quickly formed and he was taking the pill everyday after class. The metal bender slumped down in the tree trying to clear his mind, that was when a new voice pounded inside his ears.
"Kids, order 66."
Without any struggle his thoughts were cleared and his vision blurred. He leaped from the tree with an unknown force as he trudged along the leaf-blanketed forest. The smell of smoke filled his nostrils and a red glow brought the forest to life. Before he knew it he was presented with two students against a tree. His hand slid over the cold metal staff that was attached to his waist, the staff extended to its full length once it was in his grip.
A sharp yell escaped Connor's throat as he swung the metal at the tree causing it to splinter. He charged at the students ready to attack. His gift surged throughout his body, it was stronger than normal an overwhelming sense of power.

| Martin continued to run, ignoring the students for now. He continued setting the forest on fire, determined to light the whole thing up. It was going to be lit af. |D The boy was eating up his energy like it was nothing. Soon he would burn out. Literally. And if that happened then there was no saving him. Precisely my plan. | |
