Brief Description of Gifts: Gift Eater: When activated, a gaseous black miasma will begin to rise off his skin. To him, it's nothing more than odorless fumes, but to other gifted, the miasma is cold and unpleasant and will stick to skin and clothes like a black ooze. In this state, he will be able to sense and detect the flow and nature of supernatural powers, becoming hyper-aware of other gifted, portals, and outer-dimensional creatures around him, similar to aura reading. As gifts are often closely connected with mental state, it might even give him some small insight on the emotions coursing through the people around him, but nothing more than vague sensations.

Furthermore, everything supernatural in origin will be dulled, absorbed, or repelled by the miasma upon contact, but not negated or destroyed. For example, a 50,000 volt lightning bolt fired straight at him would be like getting blasted by a fire hose, but he wouldn't be singed or paralyzed from the electricity itself. Weapons created by supernatural means, such as knives or swords, will be as dull as rocks, but can still smack him around or jab him to cause pain just fine. This also gives him a limited resistance to passive and mental abilities while his gift is activated, such as empathy or mind control, but not complete immunity. Against the like of shapeshifters, the miasma provides only cursory protection against claws and teeth from breaking skin, and he still can get crushed or knocked around like a ragdoll without much issue.

The miasma can be extended in a bubble around him with a radius of about three feet, or even extended out in rope-like 'whips' of black energy, but at the cost of thinning out the barrier around his body. When thinned, strong enough attacks can break through the miasma, or even blow it away entirely depending on the level of force.

There is no offensive value to his gift; while unpleasant, the black energy is harmless to the touch. "Hitting" someone with it would be like slapping someone with a wet cloth. However, this miasma can be spread over items in direct skin contact, such as weapons. If somehow entered into another gifted's bloodstream, it won't cause any extra damage or pain, but may cause temporary strange fluctuations and reactions with the target's gift, similar to the phenomenon of 'power overload,' with the gift swelling out of control within the user's body. Other side effects may include limited paralysis or rigidity in the muscles, extreme nausea or headaches, or emotional distress and hysteria.

When activated, the miasma has the curious effect of instilling heightened dread and hostility in other gifted (similar to an intuitive dislike), and monsters from the so-called Island dimension seem to be naturally drawn to his presence.
