"... And so we'll take the number we've seen here - and plug it into the quadratic formula: negative 'B', plus-minus, square root of B-squared, minus four times AC, over two-A. With that, we get an answer of, who has it... Jennifer...?"

This class was so absolutely boring that Dakota thought she might lose her mind, if anyone else around her didn't try and lose it first. Of course, she knew that the school's most esteemed math teacher could read minds as well. He had to have known just as much as she did how tortured the students were; and how strange some of these people's thoughts could get...

There was one red-head nearby, his mind stuck on some chick's short shorts and tapping his foot away into oblivion.

What small entertainment she did get were from the self-made philosophers.

'Ive never met an honest, good-natured individual who said “only God can judge me.'

'Food trucks are essentially reverse drive-throughs.'

'The first thing I do after seeing a haiku is to start counting'

Some guy was bitching to himself about how he missed his blade and his serafuku, whatever that was.

The Spring let out an audible sigh and buried her head in her arms, as the many thoughts and the teacher's lecture droned on.
How much worse could it get?

There was a subtle art to seduction that Ari had learnt over her high school career. She'd practiced in on boys at first, a flash of her creamy pale thighs when her skirt hitched up a little too much, a heated stare that lasted a tad too long, and of course, tapping her pen against her juicy red lips that she occasionally wetted with a flick of her tongue. It was an art form, just innocent enough that they'd think that they simply fallen for her, that she had no part in it other than existing.

But Mr Oakheart had changed the game for her.

He was handsome, and she was bored with boys her age. She'd tease them, but never truly give herself over to them. That was the game, however when she played chicken with him, she found out that he was willing to go further than she expected and he left her ruined for anything else. The thrill of having her peers chase her became tedious, they were all the same, little boys that couldn't even hold back from the edge long enough for her to chase the edge herself.

Her tryst with Mr Oakheart would have continued, but all good things had to come to an end. Theirs being when her grandparents found out about her delinquent ways, so now she was here. In this maths classroom, learning formulas from a Mind reader.

At first, she'd tried her wiles here. A teasing smile, bending over a little too much to pick up a pencil, but Mr Wilson seemed unimpressed or more uncaring. She most likely wasn't the first student to have a crack at his serious facade, however, she had no plans of giving up. When one thing doesn't work, she knew to switch gears.

Outwardly, she was the perfect student, looking wide eyed and attentive as she scrawled down all the formulas and numbers neatly on the grid paper workbook, however her thoughts we not so sweet. She thought about all manners of depravities that Mr Wilson and her could get up too, projecting them deliberately. She was just slight enough to slip behind his desk. She could sink onto her knees, unzipping his pants with her teeth while he was seated marking their papers. She'd take him out and go to town. No one would know, all these students working away innocently while she was there making him squirm.

'Don't you think my lips would look pretty, wrapped around your cock?'

Dakota hardly managed to pull her head off the desk long enough to glance back up at the white-board and scratch a few more etchings onto her notepaper before burring her face back in her desk, trying to enjoy the comfort of the darkness. It still did nothing to block out the aimless thoughts of those around her, but it helped to be able to see nothing but black whilst everyone else' daydreams tried to crowd into her own mind. "Kill me already." She murmured. The whole point of Beata was to learn how to control your power, wasn't it? But things weren't getting any better for her. The Spring wished her gift had some sort of off switch at least.

"And in conclusion, whenever you see a quadratic exponent remember t- to..."

As much as she tried to lose herself, she still picked up on the teacher's sudden hesitation, her emerald eyes shooting up and shooting the professor a curious look. Mr. Wilson seemed almost... off his game? She wasn't sure how to describe it. As a fellow mind reader, he didn't make it easy to pick up on any of his own thoughts, and she was content in not trying usually. It only served to made her head ache. And yet curiosity continued to bite away at her. He was always so formal and stoic-

'Don't you think my lips would look pretty, wrapped around your -'

She gasped. She gasped a bit too hard and choked on her own spit, suddenly doing her best to avoid a small scene as she regained what air she could. In an instant, things became way too clear for comfort. Her eyes slit and darted over to where another young woman sat, all perfect and pretty. For a moment, Dakota doubted herself, wondering if she'd heard the stranger wrong, but the longer she focused in on her thoughts, the brighter her face burned red.

The math teacher had seemingly wrapped things up quickly then, dismissing the class before the bell. The majority of the students stood then, in a rush to leave and throw their poor math-books in the trash presumably. She stayed behind, staring daggers into the girl's back, daring her to make a move... or just think another - ... This was all so unbelievable.

Twirling a strand of red hair around her finger, Ari broke her innocent facade for just a second as Mr Wilson stuttered but she was quick to look down intently at the formulas she'd jotted down bellow, continuing to look the perfect student. There was a gasp behind her, but that was of no interest to the redhead when she was winning her little game of cat and mouse with Mr Wilson. She had no intention of following through today, however she couldn't help was want to see if she could corner him in class, ask him if he could help her solve some of the more difficult problems in private later.

But by the time she was about to approach him, another student was monopolising the flustered teacher's time, asking him some inane question about maths for real it seemed. 'Another day then,' she sighed mentally, before facing away from the corridor where students were milling around to all try escape the maths classroom at once. Ari planned to take the shorter route of a quick jump out the window, when she spotted her.

She couldn't recall the girls name. Something starting with D, maybe she'd lent her a pencil when Ari had misplaced hers. She looked the type to be polite, the sort that she liked to exploit. What threw her however was that she looked flustered for some reason, her eyes looking straight at her. A coy smile bloomed as she put together two and two to her assumption that little Miss Pigtails had a thing for her. She couldn't blame her, she had deliberately bought her shirt a little too small and hitched her skirt just high enough. Pigtails looked all prim and proper, maybe she was looking for a bad girl to mess her up. While that was a cliche, Ari couldn't say that she necessarily disliked playing the baddie.

Loosening her top button, she slinked over to where the girl stood, placing two hands on the desk and leaning forward just enough so that her metal necklace slid out from where it rested against her cleavage. "Is something the matter, sugar?"

An uncomfortable chill was sent down her spine as the girl didn't seem to pay anyone else mind at first, looking on towards the teacher with some rather inappropriate intentions. For a moment, Dakota had to stop and seriously wonder just how far this woman was willing to go, even with all these other people around? Even with her sitting there? Perhaps fortunately for her, and the Professor himself, she didn't seem to find much entertainment in waiting - and decided to save it all for another day, not that putting it off would be better.

Perhaps less fortunately for her, the girl's attention had snagged on Dakota instead - and she... she was seriously thinking -?! Her face flushed a burning red and her green eyes darted around uncertainly. Kota and this girl? Was she seriously that self absorbed? The Spring furrowed her eyebrows, pulling and kneading away at her dress, fighting her way through the sudden onset anxiety.

Dakota knew exactly what the fiddled with her shirt, when she leaned over ever-so-precisely over her desk, and she promised herself she wouldn't be caught up in whatever stupid show she was running. Her emerald eyes flickered back towards the stranger. And immediately flickered downward for a split-second, but her resolve was not swayed! ... It couldn't have been.

"W-What? No! ... I mean, yes!" The words came stumbling out of mouth. "You should know," she spat, sitting up a little straighter, at least attempting to size the woman up. "With the way you look and the way you -" Kota paused, catching herself and peering over to the end of the room, where Mr. Wilson and several students still stood, suddenly conscious that they might hear the two of them.

She shut herself up, glaring the other way.
