School Newspaper Meeting Empty
PostSubject: School Newspaper Meeting   School Newspaper Meeting EmptyMon Jan 11, 2016 6:09 pm

Pepper sat in the cafe, wondering who would show up. She had heard about someone starting a school newspaper and thought this would be a good chance to get to know some people better. Pepper was always one to be early, never wanting to be the last to arrive or get last dibs on anything. She honestly didn't know who would come and tried to think of Beata people creating a newspaper. Could this end up in total chaos? Isn't a newspaper kinda like Esper? Thoughts ran through her head.

She was surprised that the school was finally allowing students to make clubs and couldn't help but wonder if any of her friends would create a club. Pepper laughed at the thought even though Louis owning a hair salon of some sort sounded nice. She looked up at the clock as she sat in silence, realizing she had arrived 10 minutes early. I hope I get to be a photographer. Pepper loved capturing the moment. When she lived with her brothers, she was the only one to take pictures in her large family and was glad she did. Her attention was soon turned to the door when she heard the bells jingle.

The small blond hesitantly pushed the door open. The bell gave a light jiggle as he slipped in. In the small boy's arms was a large book. Grimms Tales. The book he'd never leave the library without. A safeguard to keep him from going into another panic like he had before. The boy let the door close shut behind him, and his eyes scanned the cafe. He had thrown out an idea for a newspaper club and a meeting place. Hopefully people knew who he was. Maybe the formal did him a bit of justice for popularity? Poor Chip didn't have friends otherwise. But the idea for a club was there. Would the others back him on it?

His head swiveled around. Spotting a figure around his age in a chair, seemingly waiting. Upon sight, he knew her as Pepper. She had two siblings attending the school and she could transform into a dragon. That was a...interesting power. Chip made his way over and looked up at her with slight nervousness. "Are you here for the Newspaper Club?"

As the two began to converse, there was an older girl, short but with a seniority about her. She leaned on the counter a few meters away, laughing with one of the waitresses as she poured coffee for a customer. She gave a glance back to what was an empty table, and when there were people there, ended the conversation with a few kind words and a wave. At her turning to face them, she revealed a camera around her neck, sleek and black, expensive looking. Its lens glinted a white light that shown red at the right angle. She walked.

"Hello!" Her voice was kind and boisterous, and she folded her hands behind her, leaning and grabbing the back of a nearby chair with them. She crossed one leg over the other. "Glad you could make it!" She gave a drifting look to the window of the cafe, and said lower, "There are others coming, right? You told your friends, right?"

School Newspaper Meeting Empty
PostSubject: Re: School Newspaper Meeting   School Newspaper Meeting EmptyMon Jan 11, 2016 7:03 pm

After a look around Beata some more she had seen that some people were on their phones in the hallway. Not that she was one to invade a person's privacy but she wanted to know what was up. Using her gift as to not look creepy looking over someone's shoulder she had seen that they were on Esper the site. She had never really been one for technology but it wasn't like she hated it. Due to this she had decided to stop for a but and look up what's going on im Esper. 'Let's see if there is anything fun!... Ooh news paper club' She had found a message for people that were looking for members. 'This seems like a lot of fun' Having her hopes and spirits high as always she had stopped and started to head down so that she could sign up for this club.

It was her own luck and high spirits that she had managed to get to rosebury and get completely lost. But she had convinced herself that there was nothing to fear due to her power. She had stopped walking on the sidewalk and had concentrated on using her power to locating things. She had gotten even more lost but found a cafe. Due to being hungry she had decided to go to the cafe and get some snacks for her to get her things straight. When she had gotten there she had sat down to look at the Esperanto once more. Only to realism she was in the cafe. She had looked around for the people and found a group she had thought would be the group."hello is this the newspaper club group meeting?

School Newspaper Meeting Empty
PostSubject: Re: School Newspaper Meeting   School Newspaper Meeting EmptyMon Jan 11, 2016 10:57 pm

How many hours had it been? Five hours? Six hours? She had forgotten in the sea of wilderness and watching farmers cultivate their crops and animals. There were scarcely any sights to see as the road droned on and on, never seeming to end in their own wake. The area was far more rural than she had ever encountered, which had stimulated her curiosity for a short while and brought her palms to the glass windows, as though it would magnify the images in front of her. But after awhile, it was the same thing over and over again. Peasants tending to their plants, the seasons switching interchangeably in their wake - wilted wheat, growing corn stalks, apple trees sprouting, everything. Her head couldn't take the information overload much further, and she had fallen asleep, leaning on the side as a cushion, fingers cautiously clutching a camera positioned on the seat.

To say that the car ride wasn't a complete monotone without much to do would be a lie; how would she had known if she was not conscious? Her quiet slumber was disturbed when the limo screeched to a sudden halt, the raspy and earsplitting sound breaking the atmosphere, and the seat belt rubbed against her neck, burning it and causing her to hop in place. Eileen jolted awake, eyes widening, one hand reaching up to rub the sleepiness out of them. What had happened? Were they already at the academy? How long had it been since she had gone to rest? Distorted, muffled sounds could be heard, but they seemed so unintelligible for her to distinguish them properly, so she stayed in her seat, not daring to move too far away from where she should be. Master would be angry if she did something disobedient.

Lavender irises turned toward the window panes, which had been coated with white hoarfrost and bit with a frigid chill when her finger lightly dabbed on it. Outside, a picturesque, small town was seen, its metal-grey buildings towering over the world and casting shadows larger than she could imagine. A few vehicles were parked here and there, but many people were walking, strolling the streets or riding bikes. From where she was, a sign reading "THRIFT SHOP" and "RESTAURANT" could be seen and--- oh hey, was that an arcade? Immediately, her eyes were shining like diamonds, as though she had just hit the jack pot. She rarely got time to play back home when she had to wash dishes or serve tea or tend to whatever other chores she had to. It excited her to know that she could enjoy it here, but that wasn't the reason why she had come to this town.

"ROSEBURY" was what the sign said. After such a long search, they had found the ambiguous town and now, she was about to embark on a different kind of journey.

A young girl sat obediently on a chair, sitting as still as a statue, not even trying to swing her legs back and forth to busy herself or anything. Her hands were folded nicely on her lap and large, purple eyes were glancing patiently up as she watched the debate between son and father. At first, she had been paying attention, but soon, she found the decency not to keep staring and simply listen, her eyelids falling over. She had seen how these argument would end already and the family knew that.

"Dad! Can't you see what you're doing?" her master retorted, his voice acrimonious and exhausted. "If you keep this up, she'll have no mind of her own."

The scoff that followed made her want to jump up from her seat and defend her master. But she was told not to intervene. She was not allowed to talk back to her superiors. "Why, a servant must have no other goal than to serve his or her master. Why do you care so much?" That was a question she would've liked an answer to herself, and it was answered.

Groaning, the son curled his fingers up into fists. "I don't want a mindless puppet!" He sounded annoyed and irritated, but she could not comprehend why. "You guys just use her as a tool to get all of this money and she's practically a slave." Without waiting for his father to answer, he had grabbed her hand, pulling her out and slamming the door behind them.

Once they were outside in the exquisite rose garden, her master flickered his eyes around to make sure nobody seemed to be listening. The coast seemed to be clear as he finally began to speak again. "Ai, I've made arrangements for you to attend a school where there are other people like you." She had looked up at him questioningly, almost confused. It was not her place to speak quite yet. She must be addressed before saying anything and he had not given her permission to. "There's no need for you to just listen to other people all the time. You need to learn to do things without people having to tell you to do them."

He had bent down to his knees, his hand reaching for her head and patting it. "Be a good girl for me, okay?"

Getting to the school was one thing, but making sure her master's father did not find out the plan was another thing. Other servants had pitched in to make this possible, but the thing was, she didn't understand why; she was under orders. She just went along with it. Soon enough, the car door was opened by one of her master's butlers and she swung her camera over her neck, a bunny backpack hanging from both of her shoulders. A gruff voice sounded, and Eileen glanced up to the man. "The rest of your things will be sent to your dorm in the academy. You are under orders to enjoy yourself in town for the time-being." With a small nod, the black limo began to drive off, its sleek metal reflecting the sun's light and causing her to squint a little as she watched it disappear into the distance.

Enjoy herself? She wasn't quite sure what to do. The game lounge was an option perhaps, but she did not want to spoil the fun quite yet. It would be much better to go there to relax later; that was what master always recommended when she needed a refresher. With deft movements, Eileen lifted the camera up to her eyes, readjusting the lenses, and pushing down the button, a snap! sound resonating from the action. A perfect still image was captured. She was seeing things as a normal person would see them through these lenses. Her vision was always crowded with events from the past, present, and future, a hovering indicator to tell her when the situation takes place. It hurt her head sometimes and other times, her brain felt like bursting, and that was not fine. But right now, all she could see was the past, only one time appearing above a brown-haired girl with hazel eyes, who was staring intently on her phone. Five minutes ago.

Looking around, Eileen took a few steps forward to see what she was so enthralled with. A Newspaper Club announcement. Was it that early in the year still that clubs were still being formed? Or was this Beata functioning under its own unique system? She felt curious. Carefully, she followed the footsteps of the ghost of the past, and looked around. Her camera snapped another photo of the group that this girl had gone to, to capture an image that would allow her to have some clarity of the people. A girl with short, cropped black hair who appeared to have a bionic hand. A young blonde boy about her height. A girl with caramel-brown hair tied in a side ponytail.

The present immediately sent her back, just in time for her to hear the next words.

"Hello. Is this the newspaper club group meeting?"

This seemed to be it, then. Getting involved with a club early on. This must be what master meant about enjoying herself. Eileen took a shaky breath, her hands protectively holding onto her camera, and she gave herself her daily reminder: Alright, be cool. Maybe a little easier said than done. She didn't know if she was allowed to speak. Everyone around her was clearly her superior - they were all in their accustomed uniforms and had more experience at the academy that she had not stepped onto yet. She didn't know the first thing about this. Would it be fine to take the risk and speak?

A conversation played in her head, with the ponytail girl responding that this was for the Newspaper Club. Everyone had introduced themselves and for the most part, seemed to be enjoying themselves. Immediately afterwards, the conversation of before the first girl she followed in rewound itself like a video, and she heard the rest. Eileen seemed to be staring off into space for a moment, before shaking it off, trying to suppress the vision of timelines beyond and further than she could imagine, from birth to death. Putting one foot behind her, her fingers released themselves from her camera and grabbed the ends of her skirt as she gave a curtsy bow. Her voice was softspoken, with an air of politeness to it that seemed to surround her entire posture. "Good afternoon, sir. Ma'ams." That was the greeting that she was taught from the moment she could speak and it had ingrained itself into her head.

The camera hanging around her neck was white, shiny, seemingly reflective of all light. The shape was rather peculiar, ears sticking out like a rabbit's with red eyes at the front; the nose seemed to be where the lenses were. A faint smile graced her features out of courtesy, but she was always told her smile was unattractive and that she should try to suppress smiling more. That was what her master's father said. Her master said otherwise. She was conflicted on who to listen to.

It was not her place to speak. It was not necessary to ask a question already asked. So she asked something else instead. "Pardon me, but is it common for clubs to meet up here?"

Pepper recognized the boy that walked in first as Chip, the guy who danced with Jake’s date. ”Ya, I’m here for your club.” She replied with a smile. Soon enough, students started filtering in all asking the same question. ”Sorry I arrived early.” She told Chip, hoping it wasn’t rude that she arrived early, not being the host.

Chip's eyes left to see a waitress approach him. The boy gave Lotte a large nod. Although, there came the problem that he didn't really have any friends. Instead he just sent an invitation on Esper. Which he hadn't found himself using before, but it seemed very handy putting out information. Perhaps it was a good medium for the newspaper? His blue eyes wondered around the four people around him. It had gotten the information out. Hadn't it? Maybe more would join later once the news of the club took off a bit more? Chip was hopeful. His gaze returned to Pepper. "It's okay. There's nothing wrong with being early."

The boy shifted his arms around the book, giving the others a look. They were all looking for the club! An excited look crossed the boy's face. He looked over the older girl with the camera, clearly a bit excited. Chip paused as another girl approached, her vocabulary greeting was something the boy was not expecting. She was his own height. Which made him smile. So far, he had been the shortest one in Beata, but maybe he could share that title with her. "N-Not really." He began, tapping his book absently with his finger. "I just thought it would be a good place to meet up and see who was interested..." Chip hesitantly looked at the other girls, wondering if his decision was in fact a bad one. That wouldn't be any good to make a mistake as the Club President so early.

"What's your name?" Lotte gave the boy a bright smile, the one that brought them together, but before he could answer, continued to talk. "I once created a newspaper! It was grand, everyone read it, if everyone meant not a lot, 'cus we got shut down soon. But look..." She raised her camera to the group of students that were coming in, many of which didn't see her, and she snapped a picture with a dizzying whir. "...this has potential. What's your name kid?"

Having had her question answered brought a smile to her face, lightening up her mood. She had seen one of the people that came, curtsy down and had talked very formal. Seeing this girl had given Sarai another one of those flashbacks that looks like this had happened before. 'Deja vu? No none ever curtsied to me before.' Almost instinctively she had also curtsied in response to this girl and had replied in the same manor. "And to you too." Since she was lost in her thoughts she had actually done this at a later time than she had expected it to be. After finishing the curtsy her attention got shocked due to the sound of a camera. She had seen that there were two people that had cameras, not just the polite talker. Having heard the question, whether or not it was talking to her she had talked in an energetic voice and a smile. "Hello, my name is Sarai, pleasure to meet you" She had stood there holding her purse with a big smile on her face waiting for an answer. 'Why did I say that? Oh well, not important'. She had questioned herself for using such a language and remembering other things about etiquette.

School Newspaper Meeting Empty
PostSubject: Re: School Newspaper Meeting   School Newspaper Meeting EmptySat Jan 16, 2016 3:49 pm

Violet eyes were filled with questioning and curiosity as she listened to the exchange between the other people who were beginning to introduce themselves to one another. It was always confusing to hear the same conversation twice, almost trippy even. Seeing it take place again and again - past, present, or future -, it would confuse anyone. She wasn't quite sure what was necessarily happening anymore, the overload of information making her head hurt all the more as she kept listening in. Time reversed back and forth like a video that kept buffering and had to be pushed a little just to let it keep loading and going. The only boy present was addressing her and all Eileen gave was a small, courteous nod in understanding. There were so many questions she would've liked to ask.

Why choose the cafe out of all places? Were there not any spacious areas at the school? Perhaps this was a more neutral-zone? But did that mean that someone had a grudge against him? Inundating her mind, she shifted a little, glancing back towards the girl with a side-ponytail. Pepper was her name, most likely, if she had heard from her visions. She had come early. It must've been because of that announcement on the phone of the other girl she had followed in. If there was an announcement, did that not mean they didn't know each other before? Surely, they were a starting club, were they not?

The other person with a camera, more or less a senior from her lack of school uniform, confirmed it all. So they were new and just trying to figure things out. Her eyes blinked reflexively when the bright flash and click! of the camera went off, a hand coming up in a vain attempt to shield the light. Once another voice joined in once again, melding into the awful mesh that she kept hearing, Eileen twisted her head a bit towards Sarai. She couldn't put her finger on it completely, but that girl seemed too accustomed to these manners. This was the only gifted school in America though, so that meant everyone must have different backgrounds. Some not as great as others perhaps.

Sarai, Pepper, Chip, and Charlotte. Interesting.

The senior girl had asked for names, but Eileen refrained from answering. Did that mean her as well? Or was she asking Sarai? Sarai had responded so that meant it couldn't have been directed to her. Speaking up now might seem rude and jumping into a conversation like that would be a little odd... not that it wasn't already odd that she had popped into a random club meeting already. With a terse breath, she took a step back to give the others space.

She shouldn't speak. No, not unless addressed directly.

Pepper gave a sigh looking around at everyone. She looked down to the camera bag bellow her feet, part of her confidence crushed. Of course. Everyone wants to be a photographer. The girl wondered how she stood a chance. After everyone started to mingle, she thought it would be best to get started. "So Chip. Why don't we get started?" She asked with a smile. Atleast with her leadership personality, Pepper would have a better chance at being co-editor or something along those lines.

A flash of light caught him by surprise. Squeaking, he held onto his book with one hand and rubbed at his eye with the other. Wishing away the blind spot in his eye from the bright light. Once it began to fade, his attention returned to Lotte. Shifting his weight on his feet, the blond introduced himself. "I'm Chip. I didn't catch your name...?" Of course he could go right in and know already, but since the Arbor incident, he wanted to refrain from doing such. Any response from the older girl was cut off by Pepper, who suggested the start of the meeting. Blue eyes glanced around the people gathered. The others had introduced themselves. Except one girl, who looked like she was in a daze. Eileen was her name. God damn it. Chip looked in again. He didn't go any deeper into her application, finding himself feeling uncomfortable with looking into something that should be private.

Not wanting to stand there forever, he slid into the booth so he would be facing Pepper. With his hand that he had been rubbing his eye with, gestured to the others to come in. Once they were seated, he gave the group a big smile. "Thank you guys for coming. Uh-" He stuttered, getting his thoughts in order. "I really look forward to looking- I mean. I really look forward to working with you guys on the next few issues of the newspaper." What next? What next?! Chip bit his lip for a long moment, than continued as he remembered what he planned to talk about. "I think our first business is deciding the name. What do you guys think? Any ideas?"

"Lotte," she said, checking the camera for how the picture turned out. It was all right. Too many people seemed a bit spooked by it, to her dismay. Hadn't they ever been caught in a surprise photo before? They'd need to get used to it. She continued with a clearing of the throat, putting down her camera and letting it fall around her neck. "Lotte Redwaltz. I'm a Guardian, I'm kinda a grandma." She smiled sweetly, and she reached her robotic hand out, ruffling his hair. "You're cute," she mused with a mischievous giggle. "How old are you? 11?"
