Brailynn walked quietly through the complex, her eyes drifting over the numbers of each apartment, looking for a certain number. He'd mentioned once or twice which on he'd lived in exactly, but she'd never bothered to visit. She wished that she had before. Maybe then his home would have been easier to find and she wouldn't be stuck feeling so lost. Were students even allowed out here? She had no idea, finding herself avoiding standing directly in front of windows or lingering in one place for too long. If anyone saw her, or tried to talk to her, she'd hate trying to explain why she was there.

Thankfully, after not too much longer, she'd found his place and stepped up onto the doorstep - pausing just before she knocked. What if he wasn't home, she wondered. The Spring clutched the box of chocolates tighter to her chest. Maybe she should've brushed her hair again or touched up her make-up? She probably should have at least changed out of her school uniform beforehand. The more Lynn stood there and questioned herself, the more nervous she found herself becoming.

'Get a hold of yourself,' the Spring scolded herself. She was just paying visit to a friend to thank him for his gift when it came down to it... She had no reason to be nervous. Or shy. Lynn took in a deep breath and gathered herself together, finally knocking on the Guardian's door, praying he answered quickly. Or not too quickly.

"Just a minute!" A very unsure voice called from a short distance behind the door. Richard wasn't expecting company, so he felt very comfortable lounging around in a t-shirt and boxers after a very long day while watching something on TV. He hadn't really picked anything yet by the time Lynn had knocked. With widened eyes, the blonde jumped from the couch and ran to his room, quickly grabbing some jeans and sliding them on as he ran back towards the door, trying not to take too long to answer. Of course, he tripped a couple of times before he managed to fully clothe himself but when he reached the door he was good to go. As he reached to unlock the door, his eyes shifted across the living room and with relief noted that the blinds were closed. Good.

Taking a deep breath, the guardian swung the door open while using his other hand to brush through his hair to make it look at least a little better than it was but froze when he saw Lynn standing there holding the box of chocolates he had sent her in her arms. Without any hesitation, his cheeks glowed a light shade of pink when the realization that she had actually gotten his message sank in. "Oh, uh.. Hey!" he said as a grin grew on his face. "What a pleasant surprise!"

The Spring took a step back away from the door, her hazel eyes blinking as she heard his muffled call from inside. Since he had sent her the valentine, she had thought that he would have seen her visit coming, or that he would've been waiting for her somewhere else. At first she thought they'd meet outside of her classroom or near the Spring dorms, but she hadn't found him anywhere. It was just a guess that he would've ended up hear. But now, if she leaned her ear gently up against the door, she could hear him stumbling around and a few small things crashing here and there.

She couldn't help but smile. Brailynn could all too clearly picture him tripping over himself, like he did when they shared a dorm together. She always thought it a little funny whenever she caught him off guard. Sure enough, when the door swung open with a slight gust of win, there he stood. His hair looked like a mess and his clothes were crumpled, and his cheeks were about as flushed as hers was.

She couldn't help it. Lynn laughed, hiding her smile behind her hand. "Hey, there." The young woman straightened herself out, wrapping her other arm around the chocolates. "Happy Valentine's Day~... Do you mind if I come in?" It was pretty cold outside, she could still see her breath.

"Huh? Oh, yeah! Come in!" He said, quickly stepping out of the doorway and motioning her inside with his hand. As soon as he did, though, he took a second to actually look around his apartment. It certainly wasn't the cleanest. A couple of empty dishes were scattered across the tables in the living room and the kitchen across the way wasn't in the best condition. However, it was actually better than it used to be. There weren't random clothes sitting about on the couches and shoes weren't lazy strewn about, hiding in every corner of the house. That was a bit of a relief. He'd hate for Lynn to walk into a room that looked like a tornado just ran through it. It was one thing when they shared a space at Beata. He had to actively make sure his stuff wasn't in the way since he shared it with three other people. Now that Richard lived alone, though, all bets were off.

After closing the door, he quickly made his way around the room, still bothering to tidy up just a little bit. He picked up the dirty dishes and swept into the kitchen to place them in the sink. "Happy Valentine's Day to you too! I, uh, see that you got my telegram." he paused a minute as he walked back into the living room, trying to figure out what to say other than that. It was a little embarrassing. He'd never written anything like that to someone else before but it just seemed like it fit. He knew the telegram was silly or at least pretty stupid but if it got her to laugh or smile then he did his job. "Did... you like it?" The words were supposed to sound a lot more confident than that. He shouldn't care that much about whether or not she enjoyed it, but here he was desperately wanting to know what she thought even though he tried to hide it.

Brailynn smiled, casting one more glance behind her to see if anyone else around before she stepped inside, letting her backpack slide to the floor and watching the door shut quietly behind her. It was far darker inside than it was out and her eyes had to adjust to the dim lighting. "So, this is where you live now, huh?" The young woman mused, watching him as he rushed around, picking up stray pieces of clothing or other bits that had been left laying around. She took a step forward immediately onto an old sock and almost wrinkled her nose in annoyance. To most people's standards, the house really didn't look that bad, but for her... She had to physically restrain herself from setting her things aside and picking up the place with him.

"I did... I loved it. It was really sweet. Thank you." The girl stepped aside so he could grab a few plates off a nearby stand. "I was hoping you could share these with me, if you're not busy." She really did seem to have caught him off guard. Maybe she was interrupting something important. The girl took the box of chocolates into her hands, brushing a bit of snow off the sides. "I think I would really love that too."

He smiled for a minute as he came back out of the kitchen and leaned against the door frame, crossing his arms in front of his chest. "You say that with so much enthusiasm," he replied before chuckling. "Its not much, but it's all I can currently afford until I can save up enough money to move somewhere else. Beata pays well, but since it hasn't been very long since I started, it's hard to keep the money I earn." He then pushed himself off the frame and walked deeper into the living room, pushing that stray sock out of the way and out of view. That was kind of embarrassing. Nonetheless, he continued towards the couch, motioning Lynn over to sit with him.

"Busy? No way. I just... wasn't exactly expecting you to visit today. I was going to try to find you tomorrow, but I think I like this better." Honestly, he had been pretty nervous about how she was going to react to his little gift. He didn't know if it was too much or not enough and he was planning on giving himself some time to get over it and let her calm down if she happened to hate it before Richard tried to talk to her again. He threw himself out there and took a small chance that seemed to bring back very good results. "I would love to share the chocolate with you. I hope you like them. I decided that mystery chocolates were too overrated for Valentine's Day, so I just got you truffles.."

She laughed, glancing down at her feet. After living in the dorms for so long, which felt like occupied hotel rooms more than anything, she wasn't sure exactly what to expect. This place that he had now, it was small and a little messy, but it seemed like a home. "It's not too shabby," Brailynn mused teasingly. A real home. It must've been nice being on your own. She was a little lonely without him, but maybe he enjoyed the space. "I'm a little upset I forgot to bring a home-welcoming gift." A few flowers always looked a place look more lively.

When she looked back up, he was leaning in the doorway and looking... really, really nice, just the way he looked with the soft light behind him and that smile... (Her mind was a bit stumped for better words.) ... Was she blushing again?

Lynn made her way over to the couch, plopping down onto the plush seating. "Tomorrow?" She asked, giving him a curious look. After the holiday was over? Maybe he wasn't into the whole Valentine's thing as much as she'd thought he was. She wondered if she was just being a bother then, but smiled all the same. "Where's the fun in that?" Once the two of them had seemed to get comfortable, she opened the box up for the first time, tilting her head and looking over each of the delicacies. "Hmm... Where to start?" They looked amazing.

Her hand drifted around before finally picking one from the middle, a pretty pink one with white stripes, and held it out to him with a smile. "You first," she said with a smile of her own.

"Oh, don't worry about it!" He told her, waving it off with his hand. "I've lived here for a little while now. House-warming gifts aren't necessary." He gently sat down as she did the same, noting the change of color in her cheeks. For whatever reason, the natural shade of pink on her face sent butterflies through his stomach. A goofy grin suddenly replaced his genuine smile for just a second before he was able to quickly gather himself. Clearing his throat and laughing awkwardly for a second, he shrugged at her question. "Yeah.. You're right. It was silly of me to think about doing it that way. I just... um..." He didn't really want to confess that sending that stupid note made him nervous and that he needed some time to relax and think over how he wanted to proceed with it. That was stupid.

His gaze shifted to the floor for a moment as he grabbed at the back of his neck with his left hand trying to figure out what to say next. How could he skirt around him being a sissy... "Maybe I just wanted you wait. For like.. suspense! Bring about the mystery." Smooth. Bravo.

Richard was relieved when Lynn moved on to the chocolates. As she opened up the box, he looked down at them with slight amazement. They all looked so pretty and delicious. He did well. He was pretty proud of himself. When she picked one up and held it out to him, he shook head head. "No, those are for you. You have the first one."

Suspense and mystery, he said. She giggled quietly under her breath. "Ah, I see. You're planning ahead then?" It was adorable how flustered he could get when he was caught in a corner. Maybe that was mean of her to think, but he always turned out to be such a huge dork. It always made her smile.

Brailynn held up the small chocolate between her finger and her thumb, looking over it. It really was a pretty thing and it smelled wonderful. There were two ways she could go about eating it. Slowly and daintily, with little bites to savor the goodness... Or she could just stuff it all in at once.

She ended up doing the later. Flavors filled her mouth up at once: strawberry, chocolate, and cream ... They were sweet... So sweet! "They taste so good! Here, you try one!" They were a bit messy, though. The outside shells were hard and left a bit of pink behind on her lips.

He couldn't help but laugh as Lynn shoved the whole truffle into her mouth at once. It was completely unexpected on his part but it was a lot of fun to watch. And adorable. God, it was cute. "That good, huh?" Richard asked as she finished eating the chocolate. He was so glad that she liked them. It was very relieving to know that his gut was correct on what to pick out at the store. He wouldn't know what to do with himself if they were gross. All he had in the kitchen to try to fix up the ruined time was microwave meals and maybe some chicken in the freezer. He let out a deep breath as he simply watched her for a moment, taking in how happy she looked. Personally, it'd been a long time since he felt this way himself. It was so nice...

He blinked a couple of times after Lynn spoke up, trying to snap back to reality casually. It kind of worked. With a look of curiosity, he glanced over all of the chocolates that were left and picked up a plain milk chocolate covered piece that was drizzled with dark chocolate over the top. "It looks so nice.. I almost don't want to mess it up." It didn't stop him though. Popping it into his mouth without much effort, he bit down into it and quickly nodded his head to agree with her. It was delicious. It was the perfect balance of milk and dark chocolate with a bit of strawberry mixed in. "Oh man, that is amazing!" he said with his mouth half full before he finished it.

Without hesitation, he picked up another. It was more milk chocolate but the drizzle on top was a deep red. It looked as stunning as chocolate could get. Without missing a beat, he held it out to her trying to be at least a little seductive with it. "Here," he said softly but warmly, holding the chocolate in between his index finger and thumb up close to her, half hoping that he could feed it to her. That was a cute and romantic thing to do, right? That was also about the time he realized the small mess she had made when eating her first one. That was so freaking cute.

He was just as bad as she was. Brailynn stifled a laughter of her own as the poor little chocolate was consumed all at once. His face seemed to lighten up just as hers did. "You have good taste," she said, beaming up at him and doing him the small favor of brushing a few crumbs off the seat of the couch. She still had no idea of the bit of candy she'd left behind herself. He'd gotten her a huge box. If each of the flavors were different, they'd be up all night trying out each one. She didn't mind staying up late. The Spring was always up for a fun challenge, no matter how silly it might seem.

Once Richard had picked up the next one though it had seemed like he'd already found the grand-daddy of them all. She'd expected it to keep it for himself and made a small move to pick our her own when he had held it out to her carefully between his fingers. "Oh," she glanced up at him, lost until she'd seen the look on his face. They'd been so cheerful before. The sudden somber way he suddenly spoke had caught her off guard, and those butterflies had seemed to have made their way over her heart now. Still, she fought to keep her cool, smiling and nodding at him as she tucked a few bangs behind her ears and leaned forward.

Far more delicately this time around, her hazel eyes had fluttered closed as she bit through the sweet candy, trying to tear off the peace with grace - and without making a mess - but it seemed to be an impossible feat. One moment, things seemed perfect, the next even more crumbs were raining down between them. "No, I'm sorry -" She tried to catch them quickly with her hand, holding back a laugh with her mouth still somewhat full. "I'm making a mess everywhere..." Brailynn grinned anyways, catching his eye. Hopefully, he could forgive her for the terrible trouble.

That was a whole lot cuter than  he was expecting it to be. Not to mention, he was glad that she caught on to his idea. He grinned as he watched her eat only part of the truffle within his fingers which quickly turned into a laugh as she began to make a mess. Crumbs started falling everywhere, getting on the couch and on their legs. Watching Lynn try to catch all of the crumbs was also funny in and of itself. It was a vain attempt but at least she tried. "Don't worry about it. It was bound to happen sooner or later whether it be you or me." He was actually surprised it wasn't him. Richard was always the one to make a mess out of things, and honestly, it felt pretty good not being that guy this time.

"Here, let me help you," he told her as he used his free hand to try to wipe away the crumbs but realized it'd be faster with two. Without putting much thought into it, Richard decided the best way to put the other half of the chocolate down was just to eat it, so he did, and with two free hands, he helped her pick up the mess. God, these crumbs went everywhere. The ones in between them weren't very hard to clean up, but the ones that fell and got stuck between their legs and the couch cushions were a different story. As he picked at them carefully, he worked his way around to where he was getting the crumbs from around Lynn as well. When he found himself reaching pretty far for certain pieces, he stopped and looked up, not realizing how close he was to her until he did. They were merely inches apart, but he didn't look away. Instead, his face turned a lovely shade of pink (as if they weren't there already) as he simply got lost in her smile. After a second, he quickly returned it with a goofy grin of his own. "Have I told you how pretty you are today?" The words slipped from his brain right through his mouth.

Those dastardly crumbs seemed to keep doubling up with every swipe of her hand. As soon as she thought she'd got rid of them all, a few more had appeared to replace them. The Spring stayed determined however, bending aside and letting the box of chocolates rest on the ground beside them as she narrowed in on the bits of candy with a smile. Maybe she had been a little too focused on getting all the mess completely. But then she'd felt her hand brush up against his as they worked and she'd found herself completely distracted.

Brailynn looked up and saw how close his face had gotten to hers. Her breath caught and suddenly the world seemed so still. She could make out the details of that dorky smile of his, and the way his blonde hair tousled down to try and hide those deep green eyes. The young woman might've said something herself if he hadn't beaten her to it. "No, I don't think so... Thank you!" Another laugh escaped her and she'd started to hide it again behind the back of her hand, but in the last moment, she had paused. Her gaze had never left him and she made a reach for his shoulder, letting her fingers brush up and meet his neck. With little thought, she was leaning in closer. "You're looking pretty handsome yourself." She murmured softly.

Instinctively, he chuckled as she responded with a quick 'thank you' and a laugh that she tried to cover up. For a split second, he felt a little saddened and disappointed that she would try to hide such a beautiful laugh matched with an even better smile, but that all disappeared as soon as it started when she reached towards him. It was simple gesture, but the effects it suddenly had on his stomach and his heart were intense. Everything seemed to flutter at her touch. His heart felt like it skipped a beat and his breath caught for an instant before everything became still. His eyes were still locked on hers and everything else became a blur. What even was reality when she was there growing ever closer to him?

He didn't even have to think about what to do next. The best part was that this time, there was no one to interrupt like in the conservatory. He had tried to mumble the words "thank you" after her compliment but nothing came out except for his breath. That was okay though. With little to no trouble, Richard closed the distance between them, pulling himself to her into a soft, gentle kiss. Instantly, he felt like he was floating. He didn't even have the ability to worry about her reaction at the moment. He just wanted to enjoy this while it lasted.

The closer the two of them had become, the more it seemed like time seemed to crawl to a raging halt. Everything seemed so quiet except for the quiet sounds of their stirring. Their faces were so close together that they were breathing the same air, and she could swear that she'd never felt so light-headed in her life. From the moments their lips brushed, those butterflies went crazy, she'd felt weak in the knees. Brailynn had been dreaming about this moment for so long, there were countless times she'd thought that it would never happen.

But it was happening. This was real. It was just the two of them alone in the world, and in that bliss, there was nothing else that mattered to her.

She'd let their kiss linger before finally pulling away, that familiar grin appearing in a heartbeat. Her hazel gaze had caught his own eyes and she couldn't help but wonder how he could seem so completely perfect then. Her fingers down, brushing against his collar bone and letting her hand fall. She'd let it rest lightly against his chest and began thumbing at the soft fabric. It couldn't have been longer than a few moments they'd been a part but she was already yearning for more. Lynn let her eyes flutter shut and fervently pushed her lips to his again.
