The Evaluation [site event] 810
The mixture of apprehension and excitement in the air is electrifying... You already know why. Today's the school-wide evaluation! But there aren't any packets or quizzes laid out on any of the desks, only cushions and water bottles, and your usual teacher isn't standing at the head of the class.

It's gray and overcast outside, and as students begin to fill into the room, a light drizzle begins. It's beginning to look a lot like autumn these days...

The instructions are simple.

1. When the clock hits 8:20 AM, the school nurse will sing over the intercom. Due to her gift, every participating student will immediately be knocked out cold.
2. The moment you fall asleep, you will wake up in your own unique simulated 'danger zone.'
3. Every simulation is different to some extent. One student might have a burning forest while another might have a flooded
building. No two students will share a simulation.
4. Each simulation is designed specially with personality, powers, abilities, and personal limitations in mind.
5. You will enter the simulation with your weapon, if you own one. Your clothes may change depending on the environment you're placed in; for example, if you were to wind up in the Siberian taiga, you might wake up in a winter jacket, while you might be wearing a swimsuit if you were to end up in the middle of the ocean.
6. You may wake up in an odd, uncomfortable, or even dangerous position once the simulation begins. You might begin the simulation standing, sitting up, falling through the air, hanging upside down, or laying flat on your back. It'll depend on your situation.
7. As simulations are all unique to every individual student, it only makes sense that the dangers in each will be different as well. Some will contain supernatural obstacles, others will contain dangerous wildlife or enemies (human or not), others will be confronted with natural hazards such as falling rocks or sudden splits in the ground. You might even face personal manifested fears, such as giant spiders or evil clowns. The Mirage Master has complete omnipotent control over the simulation, which means the world and environment can be changed at whim.
8. The criteria for passing is simple, but different for each student. To put it simply, you'll have a goal. This might be as simple as escaping the 'danger zone' and making it to safety, or it might be destroying a certain amount of enemies, or rescuing a loved one, or diffusing a series of bombs and making it out alive.
9. "Dying," or receiving a serious crippling injury that prevents any further progress, will automatically end the simulation. The pain will be very real, but no harm will come to your actual physical body in the waking world. Once the evaluation begins, it will be extremely likely that you will forget that you're inside a simulation. Students may mutter to themselves or thrash around in their sleeping state, but this is normal and to be expected.
10. Using telepathy, each evaluation will be "recorded" and projected onto a screen in another room, which will then be recorded into a video format. The school will keep these private, of course, but they may be used in the future...

The clock strikes 8:15 AM, and an electronic bell rings throughout campus, signifying the beginning of first period. With all other classes cancelled, once you are dismissed, you will be free to spend the rest of the day however you wish. However, students will not be permitted to leave until the entire room is done with their evaluation, which may take several hours. Until then, you can quietly chat, read, or pass the time however you wish as long as you do not disturb or wake any "testing" students.

Are you almost ready to begin?

OOC: Welcome to the Evaluation! Similar to the Simulation event, you'll be writing out your own evaluations.

If you're confused or have any questions, feel free to ask!

PostSubject: Re: The Evaluation [site event]   The Evaluation [site event] EmptySun Sep 13, 2015 6:58 pm

She never liked coming too class.

Corin had sat near the back rows of the classroom her right arm on the table as her cheek was pressed onto it. She didnt enjoy education or people, she was extremely anti-social and awkward she didn't have intention too be here either. The only reason she chose too come was because she had heard that this would be a thrilling experience that the staff would put them through. The spring always was interested in adventuring she loved nature and hiking the world was just such a beautiful place it disgusted her whenever someone had left the trash around she would be the one too always pick it up for them. The black-haired older student glanced around being in the back had it's benefits. It was unlikely that the teacher would call on you too embarrass yourself by asking a question you didn't know and hardly anybody noticed you Corin was also able too see everything in front of her, silently judging someone and staring at them while they didn't notice. The class seemed a bit more filled then usual, it was expected probably everyone at this school was craving for danger thats why so many of them sign up for missions.Missions weren't Corin's thing, she didn't want too waste time protecting other people she was selfish in that way. Her violet eyes had glanced around the room as she tried too spot either Lykos or someone else she knew that was in the classroom with her.

Sitting right in the very center an obnoxious laugh was heard when Ella was watching videos on her phone. She still didn't know anyone, and for all she knew nobody liked her at this school. The autumn was completely fine with being hated on, after all you couldn't please everyone. Those who didn't like her could just poof away into oblivion and she wouldn't even blink or be fazed at all. Ella had been spending most of her time chatting with friends from back home rather then meeting people at the school so when she had heard about this event she figured that she would meet some cool people by attending the evaluation. She does consider herself best in everything after all, she had a very cocky vibe you could feel it just by glancing at her. The brunette's eyebrow rose as she studied the people in the classroom, in her eyes none of them were worthy breathing the same air as her but she did have to deal with it.. "Life sure is dull in the classroom isn't it?" She said outloud not caring who had responded.

Lykos entered the room, red eyes scanning the students who had already found their spots there. After a moment, he spotted Corin. Deciding she would be better to sit with than some random student, he strolled his way over, taking the spot on the other side of the girl. His face seemed stoic and blank, however the slight upwards tilt of the corner of his mouth gave away his excitement. That was, only to Corin. With him, he held a closed water bottle, and a book. There wasn't much he could do after it was over. A book seemed to be his only option. Not that he was too excited about reading it. Honestly, Lykos had took the book off of Griffin's shelf at random. He hadn't even looked at the title.

Doing so, he frowned at what he saw. A book about tropical plants. 'Fuck.'

____

The following student was the owner of that book. Face twisted in silent anger, Griffin pushed the door open stomped over the the white haired student. Without saying a word, the blond thrust out a narrative book with one hand, and beckoned for the other book with his other hand. "Trade." He said grumpily. His dormmate was all to excited to trade, snatching the books about Warriors Cats from him, and practically threw the book about tropical plants.

Turning away, Griffin picked a spot out near the front, having heard Lykos say something along the lines off; "Any book about damn cats is better than one about plants." With a sigh, the boy looked at his watch, counting down the minutes to when it started. Honestly? Griffin didn't think he needed the nurse's help to fall asleep.

___

A short moment after the two students traded belongings, Leo entered, curiously looking around the room. In his hand was a board game. Connect Four to be exact. Maybe he could play a game with someone when someone around him woke up. Besides, he didn't have any good books to read. Deciding to pick the corner seat closest to the window, he sat his stuff down and let out a sigh. Leo would be lying if he wasn't a bit nervous.

Connor pushed the classroom door open and entered the class. He was never a fan of school, but heard this class was going to be different than normal. The winter scanned the room hoping to see someone he knew. Looking a bit harder he noticed Griffin, the boy who showed him around school the first day, sitting near the front and thought it would be best to sit by him. Connor walked up and sat himself down beside Griffin. He rested his head against his hand and let out a sigh, "I hope this isn't going to be boring."

PostSubject: Re: The Evaluation [site event]   The Evaluation [site event] EmptySun Sep 13, 2015 9:07 pm

Rhett had managed to traverse the school with his pair of casts, albeit sore from being pushed around. That damned horse better be sorry for spooking and leaving him a half mile outside school grounds. Yeah, she’d stared at him afterwards, as if trying to say she was sorry. But whose’ idea was it to go riding at midnight in the first place? Mine. He pushed open the door backwards, one arm broken and the other supporting his crutch. His brown eyes quickly glanced around the room. No one he knew was here, what a surprise.

Hobbling over to the nearest desk, the Spring collapsed into the chair, letting the crutch fall to the floor. He gazes out the window. If he turned his power off and on again, the sky looked so weird. God, he remembered when he was a little kid and he asked his brother why it was wet when they went outside sometimes. He’d said, “It’s raining, can’t you see?” Rhett had responded confusedly. He hadn’t been able to see the rain, nor the clouds.

When would this evaluation start? He glanced at the wall clock. 8:15. Time to waste five minutes. He pulled out a huge book he’d found in the library. The title, written in fancy cursive, stated, ‘Les Miserables’. He’d seen parts of the latest movie about it, stealing glances while his mother weeped for the characters in front of the television. Wonder what it’s about. I hope no one dies.
honey you got a big storm commin’

Oh shit I’m late for anime school.
Amelia rushed through the halls, long blonde hair not hesitating to whip her or someone else in the face. She thought her alarm had broken, no one else was in her dorm when she had peeked out the door. At first the short girl had thought everyone was just lazy, but then she remembered what day it was. Exam(ination) Day. She’d bolted out the door, after putting on some decent clothes, not stopping until she reached the halls where she could see a clock. She wasn’t even late, maybe a little early.

I’m so dumb. The littlest McLochland turned to the hall windows to straighten out her wind-blown hair before entering the class. The kid right beside the door looked pretty beat up; what the hell even happened? Continuing on by, she sat next to the windows opposite and set a tiny… dead thing on the table. The teachers weren’t too fond of her taking this bird to class, but couldn’t get by the fact that it was her power. It was good practice, she often told them. Actually, she’d improved a lot, this had no effect on how good she was at it. It was just fun.

The itty-bitty chick rose to its feet, hopping around the desk and occasionally falling to the floor in a flutter of downy feathers. Once it had woken, the girl had taken out what she thought was the most ridiculous puzzle that ever existed: a 3-D maze within a clear rubix cube. She had no idea where it came from, nor how to solve it. Whoever made it seriously wanted to watch to world burn.

Grace was next to head into the classroom. Careful to not look at anyone directly, her body shook with nerves as she took a seat near the front of the classroom. She looked at the clock, denoting that it was 8:15. Five seconds later, another check revealed it was, indeed, still 8:15. The brunette thought she might end up being swallowed by her anxiety, not at all prepared for an exam. Gulping nervously, her eyes widened when she noticed darkness trying to cover up her right hand, which she desperately shook off, face flushed with embarrassment. Despite her repeated thoughts telling herself to calm down, she figured she might vomit before that.

-------

Ashleigh was not nervous. She wasn't anxious, or disdainful, or cocky, she was just... there. Walking into the room, she ambled towards the back of the room and flopped down into a seat, slumping her head onto the desk. Time may even have moved to 8:16 before she got bored with that, and she lifted her head up and started tapping on the desk. Then she tapped her feet along with her fingers, exhaling in boredom. It wasn't that she thought exams were a waste of time: she just wished they involved more physical exertion, more running. She looked at the clock again, then out the window at the poor weather, then at some of her classmates. This was excruciatingly boring.

Brant gnawed on the eraser tip of his pencil, his gaze flicking around at the other students that had decided to partake in this strange opportunity that had come up. He felt nervous about this whole thing - wondering what he would face as he sat at a desk, reclining as if trying to put on the illusion that he was rather calm about the whole thing. But the pencil gnawing wasn’t helping, and was rather gross so he finally forced himself to lower the pencil and place it on the desk. He had to remain calm...He could do this.
----

Devin stared at his hands that he had folded on the desk, silently listening to the others talk to themselves or others. Next to his desk was his backpack, with the only objects in it being some books he had decided to grab for when this whole thing was over. Every once in awhile his gaze would flicker to where his cross necklace hung from his neck, wondering what he would face in this evaluation. He let out a sigh as he let his body shift forward, sprawling across the desk as he rested his chin on the desk, his arms covering his mouth as he stared forward blankly, waiting for it to start.

Magic walked into the room about a minute late. He didn't really care about that it was still before the event started. Dark circles sat under the boy's eyes, though it was kind of hard to see on this gray day. The winter prefect walked back to the back of the room, and took a set not really paying any mind to anyone else in the room, and also clearly avoiding the girl who appeared to have a cocky air about her. He couldn't help but think that this Evaluation was going to put her in her place. As for him he had a feeling he would get through this, didn't know weither it would be easy or hard though.

Sophia was already sitting at a desk. Her gloved hands were folded neatly and sat on the desk. She had chosen to sit near the back, avoiding Ella as well like the dark haired boy had down when he entered the room. She was nervous about the whole thing.. she was kind of afraid she would end up disintegrating the desk at one point, but she wanted to figure out where she stood in the rankings of things. The girl let go of a breath and looked over at the boy next to her. She couldn't help but notice the dark circles under his eyes, it kind of looked like he had been stressed by something. She jumped a little bit when the boy turned and gave her a reassuring smile. She quickly looked away and uttered "S-sorry.." She made a note in her mind to make sure she didn't mess with him for it seemed like he was one you didn't mess with.

The new student raced into the class, her heavy backpack weighing her down. As she reached it, panting loudly, she sat in her desk. What an idiot! I just ran into class, late. How pleasant... Angela sourly thought, still panting from her exasperating run. Her blue gaze flickered from student to student until she reached the teacher, staring them down.

She neatly folded her hands on her desk, waiting for the class to start.

Phone silenced, check. Lunch packed, check. She went through her long mental checklist. And, coffee drank. Perfect way to start the day!

Two students sat in the room.

The first was stuck in the back corner, his head resting on his desk and hiding behind folded arms. The guy was practically asleep already, barely managing to keep awake. Preston had heard they would have a simulation in the middle of the day. He took that as an invitation to stay up and play video games all night.

The other was sitting quietly, leaning back in her chair and picking the dirt out of under her nails, simply imagining what sort of simulation they were going to go through and trying to mentally prepare herself for it.

Dylan slowly walked into the room yawning. It was going to be a long day from what he could tell. Considering the school, this "Evaluation" was going to be hell. Everything in this school is done to the extreme, so as far as he knew, this "Evaluation" was goiing to take everything he had, which really sucked. Taking a seat, he started morphing his surikan absentmindedly, not particularly caring for his surroundings.

As long as it's not math-related, I doubt it'll be a problem, thought Noah as he strolled down the hallways towards the designated classroom. The sky was rather grey and the air held a slight Autumn chill to it, but it didn't dampen Noah's spirits. He rather enjoyed overcast weather, in fact.

Though he didn't feel nervous about the evaluation, he was quite curious about what was in store for the day. Beata wasn't a regular school. His strongest guess was that it had something to do with gifts, and how to control them, perhaps. That was the point of the academy, after all. Not that I really need too much training concerning my speed.. I mean, it’d be nice if I could control my metabolism a little better, but I don’t know how they'd go about teaching me that..

Banking to his left, Noah finally arrived at his destination and sauntered into the classroom, taking a seat towards the front. He glanced around the class briefly, eyes flitting from student-to-student, and then down at his own desk. There were no writing utensils, booklets or scantron cards present anywhere.. Instead, in place of said items were small pillows and bottles of water. Noah's right eyebrow perked up. Well, at least I know we don't have anything overly academic to do, but what the hell is this stuff for?

Noah picked up the pillow and gave it a few experimental squishes. It’d be great if they were bringing nap time back, like we used to do in kindergarten. I could really use another hour of sleep.. Heh.

OOC: I guess I'll kick this off. Remember: anybody can jump in at any time. Your posts can be one-offs, big or small, or it can be a series of posts. It doesn't matter. You can even RP your evaluation with someone else if you want, but remember that no two students will share a simulation.
So if you're worried about being "too late" to the topic; don't be!
Also remember that ANY student can participate in one of these. Every evaluation is catered specifically toward your strengths, weaknesses, personality, and history. Any power can be evaluated, it doesn't matter what it is. Remember your evaluation can be anything!
It doesn't matter if you're brand new or if you think you've mastered your gift already. Just go for it!

PROLOGUE
Raindrop
A flicker of electricity leapt out from her bangs.

Kayla just sighed, resting her head on the cushion on the desk. That kind of thing happened often on days like this. Her eyes followed the raindrops running down the glass panes in rivulets, not speaking to any of the other students, not even looking at any of them. Electric currents ran down her arm like water, giving off a deterring hum. It was more than enough to ward off most.

One of these, huh...?

Dull brown eyes wandered over to the analog clock hanging on the wall.

8:19 AM.

A test. She flexed her fingers, sparks snapping and fizzing in her palm. Another simulation. They really do love torturing us, don't they? Kayla grinned. Her smile looked like a wolf baring its teeth.

8:20 AM.

The quiet drone of the classroom was drowned out by the ring of the bell echoing through campus. When it faded into silence, the only sound was the patter of rain against the windows. Wordlessly, the intercom crackled to life, and a soft lullaby filtered in through the speakers to fill the room.

"Do re mi fa sol la ti do . . ."

It was like sinking into warm water. Her expression faded off her face, and in seconds, Kayla Croft closed her eyes and slumped against the cushion.

Their tests were about to begin.

PostSubject: Re: The Evaluation [site event]   The Evaluation [site event] EmptyThu Sep 17, 2015 4:16 pm

Madison had thought about not coming to class. She first heard about the evaluation when her power was hopeless, when she felt that her gift was nothing more than a burden. There would be no reason in testing a burden. However, Charlotte Redwaltz had turned that around, made her power something more, something useful. She had grabbed five weapons yesterday. The day before, 3. She'd even been able to bring a lamp from her hallucinatory world. It was like she could materialize anything she wanted for free, if she was willing to risk her life. Madison felt the sting of two-dozen scratches up her arms, rubbing against her shirt. It wasn't always pretty.

She didn't even realize that the time came so fast. She wasn't properly prepared mentally. She looked up, and as the singing sounded, she gave a soft, "Wa...it." Her head fell on her desk.

~~

Just because he could heal, did not mean his power was worthless. Logan looked up at the clock nervously, at the loudspeaker situated beside it. He'd have to do this, for him and for the strength of his power. He needed to see if he could push his limits, if her could heal practically and quickly. He needed to be making some progress.

The boy watched the hand crawl around the clock, guiding it on its journey to 8:20. And when the intercom sounded, he closed his eyes before she even began to sing. He was out before he knew it.

~~

Arbor had been antsy. She hated this school, hated how she wasn't able to beat Kayla. Luckily, they were not in the same class, she not even seeing the electric girl since the incident. She needed to beat something. She needed to wring something's neck, to throw a bomb and watch them explode.

The girl crossed her arms and waited, waiting for the clock to tick away her last seconds of consciousness. They were really adding suspense. There was the slightest flutter from her heart.

It all calmed itself as the speaker finally crackled to life, and the eerie voice of a woman sang. She didn't hear how the song ended. Arbor didn't care too much.

The music slowly sounded into Angela's ears, making her vision blur and spin. Her head heavily fell onto her new desk as she was teleported to some strange dream-land.

She woke up, rubbing her head. She got to her feet, glaring around the strange area. There was a forest, with the loud chirping of birds. It was truly beautiful... At least it was to her. "Hello! Is...anyone there?" She called into the darkness. Suddenly, a strange ooze formed behind her. A scream escaped her throat, causing her to sprint forward, blind to where she was going.

"Well, hello there..." A voice loudly hissed, "And who may YOU BE??" A figure appeared in front of her. What is this? She wondered crossly.

"Aspen? Leo? Anyone else?" She cried, as she ran further. Deer and rabbits dove into the bushes and headed for the Undergrowth. Tears slowly dripped down her pale cheeks as a strange feeling washed over her. As the figure caught up to her, her eyes glowed an eerie black.

"Die, biatch!" She yelled, a wicked scream somehow managing to escape from her voice-box. "Ow, my freaking eyes!!" The voice hissed louder, "I CAN'T SEE! AHH!"

OOC: Randomness... I hope it's okay...
