S1E1: Jake walked into the lounge, enjoying the silent day. Yet something was...missing. Ever since he arrived at Beata, he had never really gotten to "deeply" chat with anyone. Maybe today would be that day. He sat down on the comfy couch, almost the exact same time he heard the door open. He turned around, wondering who it was...

"Knock, knock," Jane said as she peeked her head into the room. She opened the door wider and slipped inside, letting it close again with a creak and a click. The place was surprisingly empty except for the stud sitting on the couch. "I hope I'm not interrupting anything."

Jake gave a silly smile, glad to see someone was around this desolate place. "Nope, not at all. I'm just...well, waiting for something interesting to happen I guess." He shrugged his shoulders and turned the T.V. off. "So, what brings you here?" he placed his beer on the side table.

She took that smile as an invitation to sit down. Jane sauntered over and took a seat next to him, not wasting any time in making herself comfortable. "That's your first problem," she replied. "If there's nothing fun happening, you have to make something fun happen. If you wait around, then you might just wait around forever, and then you'll never stop being bored." She grinned at him, not failing to eye the beer on the table. "I was just wandering around and this place seemed as good as any. The last time I was here, I got dragged off to a midnight joyride."

Magnolia stumbled into the lounge, her shoe getting caught in the doorway. The book that she had been reading flew out of her hands and landed some two feet away. She looked around, hoping for the room to be empty so that no one would see the embarrassing scene. To her left sat and girl and a boy on the couch, chatting it up. "I uh- Sorry I just... tripped." Magnolia said, blushing a deep crimson. God, could she been any more embarrassing. She reached down to quickly collect her book and noticed the laminated pressed flower that she used at a bookmark was gone. Well that's just peachy... Mags though, crawling around on her hands and knees trying to find the slim piece of plastic.

Jake turned his attention towards the girl who came in, trying not to laugh as she tripped and lost her bookmark. He saw the light reflect off of something under his feet and bent down to pick it up. Well, this is a cute bookmark. he thought, putting out his hand towards the girl. "Here, I believe this is yours?" he said with a cute smile.

Realizing the boy was talking to her, Magnolia looked up and brushed lint and imaginary wrinkles from her skirt. She leaned over, careful as to not get too close, and grabbed the laminated flower from the guy. "Thank you." She said quickly, retreating to a chair on the opposite side of the sitting area. "I'm Magnolia Greene, by the way. It's a pleasure to meet you." She said smiling meekly.

"That's a nice name. I'm Jake and this is...." he looked at the other girl who came in.

"Jane Grey," she answered from the couch, watching them both with a tinge of amusement. "Like the queen. It's nice to meet you both too." Maggie. Jake. She marked the names down in her head.

"Nice to meet you Jake and Jane. Y'all can call me Maggie if you like. Magnolia can be a mouthful." The girl said. She took a moment to evaluate the two in front of her. Jane was gorgeous, with dirty blonde hair like flowing ember. Magnolia felt a twinge of envy twist in her stomach. Her hair was green, painfully and obviously green. It was the one thing that she hated about herself. The seat that she had chosen was nestled in a golden beam of sunlight, and her hair seemed to glow even more greenly.
Maggie looked over at Jake. He was handsome, with jet black hair that reminded her of a black cat that used to walk around her hometown. His large frame took up more than his share of the couch. If Magnolia had been in Jane's position, she would have been very uncomfortable. Any contact with a male made her uncomfortable, and she couldn't quite put her finger on it. She looked down at her book after studying the two for a short moment. It hadn't even mattered that her bookmark fell out, she knew where she was at. Sliding this laminated pansy back into place, she brushed her fingers over the cover and smiled.

Jake looked at both of the students. "Well..." he said, tapping his finger on his leg. Jake was about to speak when it happened again. With a loud metallic clank, his leg started to make a shuddering noise. "Dam leg." he mumbled bending down, his hand turned into a screw driver and was fiddling with it.

"Maggie, then," she replied, glancing over the green-tinged hair as she took a seat underneath the light. Was it dyed? Crazy hair colors weren't too uncommon, but hers was a more muted color, almost gray. Jane smiled, resting her cheek on her hand, when there was a sudden quivering sound, like a gear that'd just stalled inside a machine. When she glanced over to the boy beside her, his hand had turned into a screwdriver.

Once the surprise had worn off, she let her face relax back into her usual grin. This place still took a little getting used to. "Technical issues?"

Jake paused from working on his leg and turned his head to look up. "You could say that." He started working on his high tech leg once more but was starting to get pissed off. Banging his normal hand against the machine, he could tell it was working, well, for now. "Heh, sorry bout that. This darn thing has been driving me nuts all week." he half laughed. He sat back up, leaning against the couch, his hand turned normal again. "Say, why don't we get to know each other a little more. I barley know anyone in this god forsaken school, it might be nice to have some people to talk to here and there."

The shriek of metal grinding on metal snapped Magnolia's attention away from her book. It was as if the sound had come from Jake. She cocked her head to the side just a tad, like a confused puppy. The boy had lifted his jeans and Maggie could see the gleam of metal underneath the denim. He fiddled with the metallic leg, screwdriver in hand. Upon further inspection though it seemed as though his hand WAS the screwdriver. Bewildered, Magnolia leaNed in, intrigued at the mechanics the boy was messing with. "Is your hand a... Screwdriver?" Hesitation clung to the word screwdriver, as if Maggie didn't know if she'd wanted to say it or not. It seemed a bit taboo, as if you should not ask people if they had screwdrivers for hands or not. Not a second earlier though, the Spring girl could have sworn his hand was regular, with five fingers and all

Jack looked at his hand. "Well, it was a screwdriver. Mechanical Transformation. I can make any body part turn mechanical. But sadly, my leg is permanent." He sighed, then put a smile back on. She's a curious one. "What about you? what's you ability?"
