Gift Description: Madison's gift was often seen as more of an affliction, due to its infant and deadly state. She sees hallucinations in the darkness, twisted hallucinations that are often unsettling and strange. The most reoccuring hallucinations is one of her mother. These hallucinations are invisible to everybody, unless one is able to make long-enough contact with Madison. If one does, it enters the real world.

Hallucinations can be killed by a hard hit to the head, but they are also deadly in their own way. Madison can also hallucinate about items, and in the advanced stages of her power, will be able to control items she hallucinates for the sake of use. Like "living" hallucinations, item hallucinations also become tangible when touched, and anyone else can use them. If Madison dies, all her hallucinations become tangible. Because of their longing to get out of her head, they try to kill Madison whenever she ventures into the darkness.

However, Madison has made progress in controlling her gift. Hallucinations have been seeing her more and more as a suitable queen. Over time, it will develop to where her hallucinations will become her shadowy army. There is one hallucination that is rebellious and deadly, however, known as New Mother; a twisted representation of her mother.

Personality: Madison is not necessarily shy, but more withdrawn and reserved. She doesn't speak to people a lot, and therefore is very awkward, stuttering and phrasing words abnormally. She is paranoid and self-conscious, and maybe tries too hard to make friends. Madison's very warm to her friends, though sometimes may read too into their actions and perceive their thoughts of her as hatred. She is the kind of girl many people know, but not many people know much about.

Midnight had fallen like the leaves of autumn, the sky dark with the black maroon of a long-passed sunset. The little girl trekked quietly through the darkness. She was looking for something, something she couldn't sleep without. The stuffed rabbit sat at the dinner table, half drooped in its own chair. She had found Mugsy. Her grin was ear-to-ear. "I've found you," came her voice, a forced hushed as to not wake her family. They were asleep, or so the girl thought.
"I've found you." Her mother stood in the corner of the kitchen, where the shadows gripped like hands at her legs. The little girl hugged the stuffed rabbit tightly, but ultimately let it fall to the floor. There was a glint of sharp silver in the woman's hand. Her eyes mingled with her nose in a grotesque cocktail across her face. That was not her mother.
Mugsy was never returned to her. He was stained dark, heavy with her blood.

Madison has had her gift since she was a young child. Due to this, she has often spent her days inside, withdrawn from everyone. She hasn't had a lot of friends in her history, and lacks social skills to deal with friends. While she hates her gift, her mother loves her gift, seeing it as an extension of her own mediumship in infancy. Madison has lived in Spokane with a pretty ordinary life, besides that, save for an incident where the hallucinations got her.

Her father seemed taller than the door he stood over, the big dog hardly reaching his hip as he stepped into the house, bringing the midday sun in with him. A cigarette dangled from his mouth, which arched in a smirk as he looked at her for the first time in over a year. She was eight then. She smiled widely.
"Daddy!"
"Maisie!" He knelt for an embrace. Her head was over his. "You're getting tall, sweetie," he acknowledged, his voice booming hoarse.
"I'm taller than most of the girls in my class!" She was proud, it showed in the wave her eyebrow made. "Daddy, how long are you staying this time."
She was right to the point this time. His smile faded, and he tossed the dimming cigarette into the grass outside. "Two months."
Her smile faded too. In fact, she looked heartbroken. The man smiled once more, however, and ruffled her short blonde hair. "Don't worry, sweetie. Two months is longer than you think, I promise."
The girl didn't take it, though. She cast her glance to the side, to the cigarette butt behind him. "Whatever," she muttered.

| Singing is something Maisie is incredibly good at. Too bad it puts you to sleep. Because of that, she only sings in the shower, or when she's trying to get out of something

Gift

Maisie is able to put people to sleep with her singing if she sings long enough in the right key. Later in her power's development, she'll be able to choose whether or not to put people to sleep when she sings. There may be a point where she could whisper-sing someone to sleep. She doesn't use her power too much, only when getting out of trouble. She used it once to escape military camp.

Personality

Maisie's no nice girl. She's cold, callous, and antagonistic. She is apathetic to many situations and problems that come to her, and will often choose the most bitter route of dealing with people and things. If she gets to the point where she actually makes friends, she may get a little too open with them, maybe even clingy, and if you try hard enough, she may act nicely on a regular basis to a person. It should not be counted on that this girl will be nice in introductory conversation, though, unless she started it. At least not yet.
