Relaxing in the Courtyard (Open)

After a long day at Beata Academy, Matthew decided that he would go out to the courtyard to get some fresh air. Between classes and being cramped up in the library doing research on the origins of gifts, he was feeling slightly claustrophobic. So he walked out onto the courtyard and admired the beauty of the area. He pulled out a small bag from his pocket holding a metal ball and a couple other materials. He pulled out the metal ball and placed it in his hand while he relaxed on the soft grass as a slight breeze blew his hair around. Maybe he would get a chance to practice his gift.

Bright and sunny, peacefully and breezy. Corin had been sitting on a bench her legs sitting comfortably ontop of each other. The black-haired girl sighed, leaning back and relaxing as she watched the fluffy clouds slowly drift away from each other. It was amazing, the clouds did move when she was a little girl she never knew that. Although after one day she was completely shocked too find a cloud slowly drifting off in the blue sky, slowly but surely at least. Although something was off about this breeze, yes it was Corin controlling it. Having an elemental power was quite rare she didn't want other people finding out about it, she couldn't trust any of these manics at this school. The breeze was just a simple test of her abilities, thinking that nobody was around in the big courtyard - that was her mistake. The black-haired girl blinked when she noticed a guy holding some metal-ball in his hand. Narrowing an eyebrow, Corin had made a strong breeze goo that way. A small smirk gracing onto her features.

When the breeze suddenly picked, Matthew sat up and brushed his hair back into its usual position, which was useless because the wind immediately messed it up again. He sighed, knowing it was useless, and looked around. He spotted a girl sitting on a bench with a small smile on her face. He thought that he should introduce himself to be polite. He got up and walked over to the bench she was sitting at. "Hey. My name's Matthew." he said politely with a smile on his face.

It was clear that he cleared about his appearance, although that wasn't a bad thing. Corin actually liked people who looked presentable. The girl blinked as Matthew walked up towards her, an eyebrow raising even more. What an interesting guy, clearing her throat and stuffing her hands into her pockets. "Helloo" The girl had said it plainly, her voice clear of any emotions. She nodded at is name although she could care less about what his name was. With a sigh, she hesitantly gave Matthew her own name. "Well my names Corin."

"Nice to meet you." He said, pausing slightly. He wasn't sure what he thought about this girl, but maybe if he got to know her more she would warm up a little. "So.. ahh.. what house are you in? I'm in Winter." He shifted awkwardly. He was never good at getting to know people. He thought he'd work on it.

Houses? What were houses? A look of confusion was shown on Corins face but she quickly remembered that students were assigned too dorms or also known as 'houses' If memory served right then the houses were: Autumn, Winter, Spring and summer just like the four seasons. It was a bit creative if yu thought about it. "Uh nice too meet you too?" Corin had said with a doubtful look that she and Matthew would become closer or actually talk more. "No not in a house yet, I've only been here for a few days." The intiate stuffed her hands deeper into her pockets, clearly showing no interest for this conversation. "So what are the houses like anyways?"

Matthew nodded. He himself had only just been sorted a couple days ago. "Houses are separated by one's personality, sort of, and you take a test to see which one you'll be in. But houses are cool. You get assigned to a dorm, and you'll have dorm mates, which can be annoying at times. Other than that it seems like a way to sort students." he explained.

By personality? That was strange why not by talent or intelligence? Oh well there had too be some reason for it. Quickly nodding Corin leaned back onto the bench, her gaze staring towards the sun. Matthew didn't seem like the type that Corin would normally hang around with, but whatever might as well try too make some friends with different points of views as her. "Huh annoying? Well that sucks, can't you pick your own roomies or wha?" It was a pointless question since she didn't have a single friend in the school but having too be stuck with some random person? That would suck.

Matthew shook his head. "Nope. It kinda sucks, but I've gotten over it."

That news sure had dimmed Corins mood, oh well she would have too deal with meeting new people in life sooner or later so why not now? Slowly nodding the girl sighed she felt as if this conversation was going nowhere, it was pathetic and pretty awkward. "So um whats your gift in the first place?" The intinte had asked with a curious glance too his metal ball he held in his hand.

"My gift is called matter absorption. Watch." he said, grasping the ball tightly in his hand. He concentrated, staring hard at his outstretched arm. Slowly, but quicker than the last times he had shown it to someone, the metal began to spread across his entire hand, almost reaching his wrist. He held the metal there for a few moments, and let it slip back to the ball. When he was finished, he showed Corin the metal ball, completely unchanged.

Narrowing her eyes, Corin had raised an eyebrow. She herself had never heard of 'Matter Absorption' as Matthew had told her too watch she did, slowly but surely the ball did dissolve into some sort of liquid form. Blinking she had rubbed her eyes not believing it, however as soon as she opened her eyes again it was back to a metalball. Slowly nodding Corin had cleared her throat, getting ready too show off her own gift. "Well my gift is called Aerokinesis." As soon as the intiate stood up from the bench a strong gust of wind had pushed past her heading towards the way of Matthew, however the breeze quickly faded away before it could touch the dude. After all she wouldn't hurt him or anything, the air was only able too move his hair harmlessly.

Matthew moved his hair back to where it should be. "So that breeze earlier, was that you?" he asked. He didn't really care, he just wanted to know. He knew how awkward this conversation was, but he realized that's always how his conversations are. He didn't know why, they just were.

Conversations weren't awkward it just depended on the people, if they were socially awkward or just shy it was obvious that it would be a weird and pointless conversation. Slightly blinking at Matthew's question a smile small had graced onto the black haired girls features. "Heh.. yeah it was. "

"Well, it felt pretty nice anyhow." he said. He liked relaxing, and that breeze made lying in that grass more relaxing.
