A Brand New Day...Ish [Closed]

For Brant, today seemed like the best day ever. Mainly because he had reconnected with Destiny and they were dating; which was slightly weird because they had only spoken once before but...He was sure it would work itself out. His ginger hair rustled in the faint breeze as his green eyes sparkled in the sunlight as he had Destiny at his side. He paused in front of the cafe before glancing at Destiny. "Wanna get some coffee and some food?" he asked, motioning at the building before them.

Blame the writers. Its their fault for only talking once before. Today was a nice day. The sun felt nice on destiny's hair, and her head. The breeze kept it nice and cool making the temperature not to hot. The necromancer stopped when she saw Brant stop out of the corner of her eye. She looked at the cafe. She hadn't really been their before. "Sounds nice. That works for me."

Yes, blame the writers for everything. They made this whole thing happen in the first place. Now the day was nice, like, really nice, but it seemed even better with Destiny with him. When she agreed on the cafe, Brant grinned as he turned headed toward it. Coming to a stop at them, he pulled open one of the doors, before turning to look at Destiny with a silly grin. "Ladies first," he hummed softly as he held the door open.

Destiny did a little bow in response to what Brant said. A silly grin covered her face as she walked into the store. "Thank you my good sir." She said with a giggle as she passed by Brant. The cafe smelled remarkable like coffee. It smelled rather nice to the white headed girl. The colors were rather relaxing to Destiny so the over all feel of the place made Destiny relaxed. "This is really nice."

A small laugh escaped Brant as well as  he followed Destiny inside, taking in a deep breath to enjoy the smell of the cafe. It was so warm and lively here...He always loved coming here in his free time. He also never had to worry about his coffee being too hot. It seemed being gifted in fire breathing meant that drinking hot drinks (or eating hot food) didn't bother him at all. However, if the drink got spilled on him it would hurt like hell. He learned that the hard way. "I can order for the both of us if you like, what do you want?" he asked, taking his place at Destiny's side.

"A coffee will be fine.. and.. uh.. maybe a slice of cake?" Destiny asked shyly. She always got shy when it came to asking for what she wanted when other people ordered for her. "I can get us a table if you would like.." Destiny suggested.

Coffee, cake, got it. Brant nodded, smiling softly at Destiny's suggestion. "Good idea, I was about to say that myself but i suppose you get the credit for saying that first." He paused, realizing that there was something important he was forgetting. "What kind of cake do you want? I could take a guess but who knows if I would be right."

Destiny gave off a small giggle. "Chocolate will be fine." She said before turning away from her boyfriend and walking to a table. She looked at the tables she could choose from and sat at one close to the wall and waited patiently for Brant to come sit down with her.

Aright, coffee and chocolate cake. He got this. Watching as Destiny walked off to find a table for them, he turned as well to head to the counter. Putting his both his and Destiny's orders, he stood there for a while as he waited for the food, tapping on the counter. Finally, the food was ready in short time and he started to take it all back to where Destiny was sitting.

The first trip was of the coffees, putting his and Destiny's down before heading back for the rest. He returned with a slice of chocolate cake for his girlfriend, but just a sandwich for himself. He wasn't feeling all that fancy at the moment. He sat down on the opposite side of Destiny as he finished setting down the food, before reaching out for his coffee and taking a sip. The hot liquid went down his throat without a bother, and he set down his drink as he gazed at Destiny. "So, here we are. Dating, and yet I don't know really a thing about you," he noted, before taking another sip of his coffee. It was great when you didn't have to wait for it to cool down.

Destiny's eyes sparkled when her cake had arrived with Brant. While he took a sip of his coffee, the necromancer took the chance, and took a bit of her cake. The flavor of the cake tasted amazing. When Brant said they didn't really know each other, she paused with the fork in her mouth. After a moment she removed the fork and set it down. "What do you want to know? We could take turns asking questions or whatever you like." She said, kind of stirring her coffee around.

Brant took a sip of his hot coffee, before setting it down as he nodded. "Taking turns sound good. That way we both get to ask questions." He paused, attempting to think of a question. "Do you have any siblings?" he asked finally, figuring it was an easy question and it sounded better then 'what is your favorite color' which was the other question that he had come up with. He himself had a brother, although he wasn't gifted like him, and they hadn't been on the best of terms. Sibling rivalry he supposed.

"I don't have any siblings.. at least the I know of. My dad kind of had an affair with another woman, and he ended up keeping me. I was never allowed to see my biological mom." Destiny said talking about her dad. She liked her dad a lot, her step mom was okay but she would have liked to know who her mother was. All that she knew of her mom was the she was Hispanic. "What about you? Any siblings?"

Oh...Well...As Destiny went on about her dad, Brant just kinda peered over his drink as he took a sip until she asked her question. Same one, eh? Supposed that worked. "I have an older brother," Brant said as he set his drink down once more, and ran a finger over the edge of the sandwich plate. "He doesn't go here thought, doesn't have a gift like I do. Not like I really care, we never we on the best of terms." He paused, taking a moment to finally take a bite of his sandwich, picking a new question as he chewed it. "How about where you are from?" he asked as he swallowed, setting his sandwich down as he waited for her to answer.

Destiny frowned when she heard Brant and his brother weren't on the best of terms. She took a sip of her coffee but only a small amount the liquid was still a bit to hot. "New York City. Its kinda nice depending on what side you are on. Where are you from, and how did you discover your power?" Destiny asked covering a two question she wanted to ask at the same time.

"Oh, two questions? I see how it is," Brant said in a teasing tone, smiling warmly at her. "I'm from Wilmington, Delaware. I suppose Delaware is kinda close to the state of New York...Cities are a bit apart but I suppose that doesn't matter cause we are together here," he said with a soft hum. Then, onto the second question. "I suppose I first found out about my gift at school. My friends were attempting to get me to skip school although I refused. Suppose I was nervous enough that I saw some of my fire, but my friends had missed it and were teasing me some more until I kinda yelled at them and created a bigger flame. They saw that one and...I went home early that day. Then my dad revealed that his mother had been gifted, but it seemed it had skipped a generator so..." he shrugged. "Shortly after that they decided to send me here as my father wasn't sure how to help me control it as his parents had already past away." He then paused, knowing it was his turn for the questions. Part of him wanted to reflect the second question...But maybe he shouldn't be asking a necromancer how she discovered her gift on their first date. That could be saved for later, so his mind raced to find two more questions before he found them. "Uh...Let's so some simple questions now," he said, feeling kinda silly about the only two he could really come up with at this moment. "When is your birthday, and...What is your favorite food?" he said with a sheepish grin.
