Over the span of the rest of the evening, clothes had been strewn carelessly across the room and they'd somehow found themselves under the covers of the bedsheets together. Jace felt wonderful, casting a small smile down at the young woman who lay next to him nimbly in his arms, but at the same time - completely and utterly exhausted. His chest still gave heavy rises and falls, slightly unsteady in rhythm, but he could hardly notice anyways. He brushed the bangs out of her eyes again, letting the back of his hand slide against her cheek. "Evelyn," he called, softly grabbing her attention.

A playful smirk grew subtly on his face. "We still have a whole week left," Jason murmured, his gaze quickly finding hers. "You know, for hiking and the cheesy tours. Bigfoot's probably out there acting like he owns the place..." The smile had yet to fade as he brushed his lips against hers. He wondered how long he'd been waiting for this, to be this close to her. He'd hardly ever even dreamed it possible, yet here they were.

She was wrapped up in his arms, her legs tangled up in his, and her head resting against his chest, listening to the beating of his heart and feeling the slow and heavy rise and fall of his chest. Evelyn gently stroked his chest, wishing that this moment between them could last forever. Maybe she'd been stupid. Maybe she'd just been drunk, and maybe she'd wake up tomorrow  filled with regret. Or maybe it'd all been a dream. Right now she didn't care. All Evelyn wanted to do was lie there with him, and savor this one peaceful moment between them.

His hand brushed away her hair and found her cheek, and the soft mention of her name beckoned her to look up and meet his eyes. A small sleepy smile played on her lips as he spoke, but he snatched it away with a gentle kiss. "Mhm," she murmured back. "W-We'll f-f-find him."

A soft, breathless laughter escaped him, holding her gaze for a few moments longer before stealing another kiss away from her. He felt like there was more to be said, but the words seemed impossible to find then and there, and he couldn't understand why. Jason looked down at the girl resting in his arms. She seemed so peaceful and he felt like he could watch her like that for an eternity. It wasn't like seeing the Queen walking down the halls, or his favorite actress on the big screen. Seeing her the way she was with him simply made him happy, not in a way he could explain - he'd never felt that way before, it was just... happy. He let himself stay puzzled, content with the confusion for now, leaning back on the pillow and glancing up at the ceiling. He pulled her closer, willing her to go nowhere, rubbing her shoulder gently with his thumb.

A small, but familiar pain jabbed at his head, and he let out an deep sigh. He wasn't completely sure how it worked, but the hang-over wasn't supposed to come until after you woke-up, right? Jace didn't want to think then how bad he would feel when morning actually came, sleep tugging at him as it was. He didn't want to pass out, not now or ever really - he didn't want to leave Evelyn alone; at some point, though, he realized he could see nothing at all before drifting off into sleep.

The kiss conveyed more than words ever could. Evelyn tried to think of things to say, but nothing came. except them. heuefhnagngngn. Things had gotten so wild, so confused, so dark, but it seemed like all her troubles had just melted away overnight. Maybe that was just the buzz making her forget all her problems, or maybe it was something else. Right now she didn't care. Right now he was with her, this stupid asshole she'd liked and hated and been so puzzled by, and that was all that mattered. She rested her head back on his chest and simply laid there, listening to his breathing and the beating of his heart.

She hadn't realized how exhausted she was. The whole trip there, the day's events, the vodka, the... night's... events. It'd all worn her out, and here, in the dark peaceful silence with Jace's arms wrapped around her and holding her so close, she felt her eyelids start to droop. Evelyn didn't want morning to come; she didn't want to deal with the hangover, the consequences, the awkward feelings. She just wanted to lay there with him. Was he still asleep?

Evelyn's eyes eventually fluttered close, her mind blanked, and she drifted into sleep only aware of the rise and fall of his chest underneath her cheek.
